John Schneider is the man. He and Glover, hands down, the best two actors on the show.

He was very good. Reminded me a lot of The First on Buffy when Buffy's mother came to her daughter Dawn to have go against Buffy. Just wished this would actually be an arc instead for one episode :\.

he was really good at playing the villian. especially the creepy part where he was looking at martha thru the indow and then became braniac. purely chilling.
and while we're on the topic of baseball i also must add that the yankees totally rock!!!

I was just thinking earlier today about how it would be if there was an evil Jonathan, and wala. I loved the way he acted in that barn fight. Damn, that was awesome. Why the hell didn't we have stuff like this earlier in the season? It could have replaced episodes like Tomb, Fragile, and Aqua.

Let's go Mets!! Yankees too, but after the Mets.

I hope they somehow bring him back, but alas it will for sure never happen. One of the best things in the show was the father son chats he had with Jonathan. I will miss those.

The Mets are looking good this season. The Yankees are the same old team where they will score a billion runs one game and then get shut out the next.
The problem is that the writers just can't string together good episodes. They always have to throw garbage in for filler in order for them to get to their finale. I, for one, would rather seen more of Brainiac this season. Let me see how he came back after Solitude. I also would've liked to see Zod's disciples. One episode and out for them is a disgrace.

For me it's Glover and Rosenbaum. Though JS and AOT show they can shine too, when they are allowed to move outside their roles as Ma and Pa. Thought AOT was spectacular in Mercy.

Hey did an amazing job. I like that his hair was a bit messy and longer. He really did the whole villian thing well. Especially when it was Clark, Lionel and Fine as Pa Kent in the barn and he was yelling, "Kill him now!"

He did an excellent job! I just hope this isn't the last image we have of PA Kent....Did anyone wonder though that since Brain was playing Clark against Lionel in this ep.. Maybe that wasn't really JK in the other episode where Clark learned Lionel knew his secret?

Yes, JS is all over the screen with his villainy.
You know what, though. I'm a little miffed that the last scene we see between JS and TW is a fake Jonathan scene. I loved those father-son moments. I don't like thinking that this is the last appearance of Jonathan on the show. It's a little cynical.

I wondered that for about a minute or so..lol:) But I really think that time when he saw his Dad and he told him about Lionel knowing his secret that that was really Jonathan:D
CallMeClark

No, I believe that was Pa Kent when Clark flatlines, because all he did was "warn" Clark that Lionel knew. Also, how does Brainac know about all of this?

Yeah I think it was Jonathan that Clark talked to back in Void. The bright lights and Jonathans over all appearence I think showed that.

I loved the fight scene between "Jonathan" and Clark. I was yelling, "go on, throw the tractor at him!", and lo, he gave him the tractor! Definitely one of the best fight scenes of the season.
Also liked how "Jonathan" was goading Clark while Lionel was being strangled. 3 priceless moments came out of just a few seconds:
When Lionel says "your father would never make you a murderer".
Clark has that sudden look of realization in his eyes
Jonathan (ever so briefly) has a blank moment. (There's a The Tick episode where Arthur was cloned, and in trying to prove he's the original, the clone simply states "I, Arthur". I imagined Jonathan saying "I, Jonathan" at that moment!)

I thought he did an awsome job in the epi. which in its whole was really good, but to me I didn't like the fact that the possible last time of seeing JS was asthe bad guy. I don't know maybe I just like fluffy memories. Other then that objection he did an awsome job with it.

I can't believe it took Clark so long to work out it wasn't really Jonathan. I was screaming ''bravo'' when he did.
JS was cool. He pulled off the bad guy act very well.

John Schneider is a wonderful actor. He can go from one extreme to another, a warm, loving father who can show his emotions at times to evil , as he did in this episode, especially when he would smile. Not friendly but sadistic. I still prefer good Jonathan more, and I love his hair. It looks so soft and makes him look younger, back to his Bo Duke days.

That Martha and Jonathan scene had me convinced that it was the ghost of Jonathan 100%. Fine really does his homework on his subjects, cause "Jonanthan" called Martha sweetheart....how else could he have known if he wasnt watching them before he died. Creepy man, creepy.
Jonathan was awesome as a villian, it creeped me out! I was on the edge of my couch!

I agree. I've watched it again, and JS was really amazing playing Fine. He even has a James Marsters speech pattern when he talks to Clark and Martha.
I agree about the hair, too.

The main thing was that he played the emotional card. Not the harsch card. If he did, he would have exposed himself right from the beginning.

I hope too that this is not the last time we see him.
His last scene ended early and was so abrupt. Making this appearance be his last would not be fitting to the character . Jonathan was good and a loving husband and father, but I have to admit, JS did look quite fine(no pun intended) playing a bad guy.

John Schnieder kicked butt in this episode. I thought he was amazing as the villian, it sort of reminded me of Nicodemus where he went sorta crazy. But I do agree that that shouldn't be the last image we have of Jonathan Kent, he was such a force in this show and that would be a great disservice (sp?) to him.

I do realize I'm years behind, but gimme a break lol.
I thought he did awesome! I mean from the first second we saw him I kinda guessed it wasn't Jonathan because of his stance and behavior. It reminded me of Milton Fine at once. But the fact that he kinda plays two characters at the same time is awesome to watch. He's Milton potraying Jonathan as perfect as he can and although he's good - there's these small hints that proves it's not the real Daddy-o.
I loved the fight in the barn and the fluffy hair lol. It also made him look a little different from Jonathan and more villian-ish. Oh and I just love when he "strangles" Clark and says "It would've been soo easy to snap your neck just like a twig."
