I agree about Chloe: it would be creepy, but I must confess I don't want to see romantic clois in Smallville. I wouldn't mind Clark falling for Lois some time next season, but Lois should not fall in love with him. Lois falls for Superman first. She only falls in love with Clark later, after she gives up her superman fantasy that she is able to see that Clark is the one for her.

The problem I have with this is that Lois doesnt fall for Clark right away because he is a bumbling fool at first and then eventually she sees beyond that. But the man that she eventually falls inlove with is the man from Smallville. She falls in love with Clark Kent from Smallville. So thats why I think she will fall for Clark now, why wouldnt she, he's basically Superman sans cape.

It really seems absurd that they even have Lexana. I am not pro or con lexana but if Clark and Lana were in Love for so long it seems unrealistic that she would be able to turn to Lex so soon. It seems almost as unrealistic as Clark turning to Lois or Cloe. When I think of Chlark or Clois I can;t help thinking how either one of them would allow themselves to be involved with clark based on the fact that they are both friends with Lana. Also, wouldn;t you be concerned that you were a rebound. Especially since everytime Clark is around Lana he has puppy eyes. It is ridiculous. However, since the writers created Lexana in such a short period, I suppose either Chlark or CLois is on the menu as well

I have to say though, that I want Clark and Lana to finish their thing before there is any Clois, otherwise it wil just be unfair to the future Clois.

Lana needs to know all about Clark and decide she doesn't want to be with him, and Clark needs to realize why Lana feels that way and accept it before he can truly move on. But the producers don't want to put that into the show now because they are afraid of ticking off the Clana fans and illiminating the true need for Lana on the show. Contracts obligate them to keep KK there until the end, so I feel that only in the last few episodes will Clark ever truly get over Lana in the way he needs to.

So, the most Clois I hope for in that case is to see the beginnings of Clark starting to like her as the series ends.

I love that Lois echoed what Martha said to Clark - "You did this for a reason." They had a really nice moment.

But I don't trust this show with romance. The only romance they've done well is Jonathan and Martha -- and they killed off Jonathan. I'm okay w/out a romantic Clois, as long as they have those great moments.

I also would like to see some better closure between Clark and Lana. No loose ends. No rancor.

I agree that I don't think a full CLois must happen in SV, if they will respect the mythos, and I also agree that I'd like to see Clark fall for Lois while Lois is oblivious to this.

And yes. Clana needs a closure. I don't want them to end up with all this resentment and feelings of betrayal. In Canon, Lana is a good friend of Clark and that's how they should end up.

I doubt there will be some Chalrk though.

I don't want Roma Clois. I say that enough but I always want to make sure everyone knows before I post. Otherwise I get accused of being biased towards my ship, when the only ship I have is Chlois (Chloe AND Lois)

I liked tonight's Clois scene for two reasons. They weren't sniping at eachother and it wasn't a foreshadow like the others have been. It was an actualy Clois 'moment' It could be taken as another foreshadow, because it does hint at the future, but it also worked well as just a moment. A lot of the time the writers go overboard with their 'shipper' moments so it's nice when they write one out that doesn't choke you to death with how obvious and overdone it is.

Also notice that Chloe arrived right after Lois, so the writer didn't waste any time moving in another girl of another ship and didn't linger on one too long.

I agree with the post that it's better to have Clark fall for Lois and NOT Lois fall for Clark because that's how it's always worked and Lois can't have feelings for Clark until "Superman' shows her what she really wants in her life. Superman to me repsesent a blend of Clark and Kal-El trussed up in bright blue spandex. The man underneath is Clark but as Superman he can be open and accepting of everything he is, the 'Human' side and the Kryptonian heritage. SV's Clark is no where near that stage in his life.

My baking tends to be pretty but often lacks in flavor, so I just stick to the few baked goods I can make without fail (Angel Food and Cannollis) Cakes aren't my thing and I don't try. I attempted to make Enchiladas for Cinco de Mayo . . . they looked gorgeous but tasted like spicy cardboard.

From the way Lois preened about the rum cake (and she usually admits when she makes things lousy) it tasted good and Chloe also seemed to like it, it just looked dumpy. I am totally with you. These arguments about how Lois shouldn't be on Smallville doesn't hold. If you say that, then Lex shouldn't be here, Brainiac shouldn't be here, and Lex and Brainiac definatly should not be working together. Frankly, after all the Clana angst, I am totally ready to see some Clois. Maybe not full out romantic, but definatly more of what we had this episode. :)

I just re watched Oracle, and noticed that in the final scene when Lois shows up in the barn, there is a glistening/shimmering sound as she appears, which makes us think of beauty- Lois has never been shown like this before! She's always portrayed as tom boyish playing computer games etc.

Clana is unbearable, Lexana is unrealistic Lana has no real feelings for Lex, maybe Lex doesn't either . I hate seeing him play a love sick puppy. Chlark is blah, its gotten a little boring, same situation everyweek in the daily planet, chloe walks down the stairs with clark and comes out with some wise crack. I don't like the way Chloe helps out all the time. I can't belive the writers let her work out the krytonian language. Clark should have done that on his own.

All in all . Clois is my favorite ship. It hasn't bored me yet. :D

Chloe wasn't that bad- it's not as if she actually read it, she just narrowed down the most commonly used symbols and asked Clark to decipher it. As someone else said, if we saw jfkjfkwjfkawjkjawiughwjhwjahiownwkajkfnmf, we couldn't understand it- Clark probably saw that but in Kryptonian.

Agreed though Donnie, I'm tired of the same old ships- I did however think that I would hate Clois on Smallville, but I think they make a good couple.

I think it's his way of needling Lois, just like Lois needles him. It's like a private game they play with each other. And I think that's what he comes to love about Lois -- he doesn't have to walk on eggshells.

I just think that it would be a shame.

Look, TW and ED have amazing chemistry. It is probably the best romantic chemsitry between any two actors on the show. They can play totally innocent scenes and have an undertone to it. TPTB did an amazing job casting both those roles IMO. It is more remarkable that they did it years apart.

The problem is that the Lois & Clark story is a pretty amazing one and there is no way to tell it in SV. The whole "Clark-Lois-Superman" love triangle is rich material. For one thing, Lois was a modern woman when they created her in the '30s. Her first priority was her career, which led to the totally modern dilema of feeling forced to chose between career and family.

That leads to the second piece, which is her single-minded love for Superman. She idealizes him so much that she cannot see that she is literally sitting next to the man every single day. It is an amazing metaphor, if you think about it. Superman is smart enough to know that if she cannot love him as Clark, then she doesn't really love him. She loves the ideal that Superman represents. He loves her, but he won't take the easy path to getting her.

There is a reason that story gets told over and over. It is a really good story. If Lois falls for Clark in Smallville, then none of that happens. You could argue that that she has seen him without the glasses and geeky voice that is already true, but I hope not. Sure, this version of Lois will know that Superman is Clark the second she sees him, but that doesn't mean the classic Metropolis dynamic cannot arise some other way.

We really need to see Clark learn to not trust being idealized by a woman who is in a relationship with him. Clearly, that is not going to happen with Lana. I'd rather not see him learn that with Lois herself, since them breaking up and then re-uniting at the Daily Planet reminds me of the Clana mope-fest.

Short of introducing yet another regular young woman to a cast that is struggling keeping all of them on-screen, that leaves one option. Chloe and Clark would certainly be a bit of a twist, but I think it would be fun. As I said on another thread, Clark has always been shown as having a major relationship during college after Lana and before Lois. It makes sense, if you consider what he has to learn between those two relationships.

I agree with you. For those of us that are *ahem* challenged in the kitchen, cooking is not something you do unless you're really trying to be nice. So I think that he could have been nicer. I mean at least she tried (which is more than I can say ;)) Also, she's always been there for him to talk to (which is more than Lana can say considering it is usually her they are talking about). :D

The scene reminded me of one of my favorite L&C-scenes:

This makes twice now that you've responded to one of my posts with laughter. If you disagree with my post fine, but show a little respect.

Smallville has ruined nearly every romance they have attempted to portray and you can't have Clois without Superman and this Clark is NO WHERE near being Superman. I can't say it enough. MB Corp's parody scene is probably an accurate portrayal of both Chlark and Clois if the show were to explore either of those relationships.

In superman 2 she actually throws herself into niagra falls so he can save her.

Ive seen Lois in differnt incarations and the one thing she never is is whiney pushy when it ocmes to his secert. Lois Lane ofthe comics and movies always did things on her own terms. And it appears smallville is carring on the traidtion, shes suspicous of him at times but never presses it becasue its not her style.

That how I see it going with Lois. Her style is more she gets suspecious and ask. They lie she wonders. She then looks into it sees something the hits them with when she has seen proff.

Clois is definitely developing at an appropriate pace. I am finding it difficult to picture how the writers plan to make Clark unidentifiable as Superman with Lois's ability to read him so well.

It seems likely that they are just going to ignore that part of the mythos. I mean, if you showed up at a costume party dressed as Superman and ran into some who'd known you for several years, would they be totally unable to recognize you? I'm guessing 'no'.

I am fine with that to a point. It always seemed like an essential part of the story that Lois falls in love with Superman, not Clark. That is the key impediment to their becoming a couple, since she cannot be "Superman's Wife" to the public. It is a nice little metaphor and is really the key to their story. If Al/Miles find a way to re-create that dynamic (the two-person love triangle) in a fresh, interesting way, then I'm all for it. If they just forge ahead with the Clois without that dynamic, then I am going to be bitter.

I think ED is nailing the Lois personality on the head. There something everyone has to consider, Lois is annyoing she has flaws but this Lois is just as the Lois I rmember from comics and movies. The only thing differnt about her is the jouranism bit. She has a talanet for it but seems not like it.


I know many of dont like it becasue she seems mean and rude to Clark, but in cannon she is always mean and rude to him. Its after she falls for him that things change with her treatment of him. I guess to me if they did a Clois ,which kind of scares me becasue these guys dont have a prepenceidedy for getting it right, then it could at least tell me what I always wanted to know about Lois and Clark which is. . .

I actually popped in Superman II the other day...and fell asleep...but I woke up on the waterfall scene right before Lois jumps in.

Durance is catching a part of her character I think...all the way to the cute little bangs in front. I didn't notice it before but the her Lois take seems somewhat based from movie.

Considering Lois doesn't really have too much a place in Smallville (aside from plot relief so far) ED is doing an excellent job in the role imo.

All that said a little Clois, just a smidge, would be nice in season 6.:cool:

I have been so hyper-happy with Lois in the show. I actually stopped watching Smallville for a while because Lana just annoyed me beyond belief. Or rather, the Clark-pining-for-Lana bit. When I heard that they had introduced Lois, if I were a rabbit, my ears would have popped off lmao. I was ridiculously happy. I love the whole Lois and Clark/Superman love story.

That said, I have to say that, even though I'd probably give and arm and leg to see some Clois action, my better judgement disagrees. I want her to fall for Superman first, then Clark and then whop-dee-doo, gets the surprise of her life when she realizes they're both one and the same. And Clark would know she truly loves him, Clark Kent, not just Superman, because it's just way too easy for Superman in the women department. It's easy for women to fall for Superman, not Clark Kent, so knowing she falls for the "human" side of him, is what will make him know she truly loves him for him and not just Superman.

I'm not sure what I want the writers to do. Maybe develop their friendship more, but yet, unbeknownst to either of them, there'll be that certain undercurrent of attraction. And with Welling and Durance's onscreen chemistry, they can damn well pull it off. I think it was a brilliant piece of casting they did finding Durance. I can see no other actress who would fill her shoes here in this role. She nails her character to a T. Plus, the fact that she's freakin' stunning adds a lil' somethin'. ;D

Btw, I've read here and there that Clark supposedly gets involved with a mermaid or something?? Maybe the writers could do that somehow lol. I honestly think him and Chloe, as some have said, would be a little creepy. Don't get me wrong, I adore Chloe and have always mentally kicked Clark's butt for not seeing what's in front of him, but now that Lois is here as her cousin, well yeah, in comes the creepy-awkward factor lol.

AlMiles have never claimed to have any great love for the LnC show (but they are fine with stealing dialogue from them, nice huh?) so it's more likely that the character similarities will be from the Reeve movie, which for a lot of people is definitive Superman.

The smoking, the spelling, the way she talks to Clark, her ego , the way she talks back to people . . .they are all traits derived from Margot's Lois. So yes I'd say Erica plays that very well . . .and I like her more than Margot. ;) She also shares traits with current comics Lois, especially with the focus on military back ground and a little something I like to call "kick @ss itude"
