Was that the same dagger in Clark's hand in the preview of Vessel? Or do you think he was instructed on how to make a new one? Thoughts?

Yep, it looked like the dagger from Talisman. Guess Clark figured out Lex is Sageeth. Especially if they are fighting on equal footing.
Of course now, they'll have to do another memory wipe to get Lex to forget what he saw.

I imagine he'll pick this one up during next week's episdoe...probably from the FOS...So i doubt it's the same one...then again, thinks that have been supposedly destroyed have returned before...

Yes, it did look like the Talisman dagger, though I thought that had been destroyed.... but Clark'll probably get it from the FOS.

It actually looks different...The dagger from Talisma was shaped differently at the blade end. And there weren't any Kryptonian symbols on the blade on the one from Talisma.

The talisman dagger was gold not silver. Clark was holding a silver. It was also more stylish with kryptonian writing.

Its a similar knife but I dont think its the same one.

For all we know, its something that he picked up at a pawn shop in Smallville.
Either way, I highly doubt the writers would go back to Season 3 to remind us of the caves, Sageeth, etc.

Season 3? Uh, the caves were in the Season 4 Finale...and wasn't there something in that story about Clark weilding that blade to kill Sageeth?
if that's the case...WOW...some continuity...

Yes...it was Season 3, I'm sure of it...with the episode Talisman and all that.

That would be SWEET if they brought back the blade relating to the caves!
I didn't notice it until reading it here, so kudos for catching the resemblance. I'd have to go back and watch "Talisman", but the knife didn't get destroyed, it just vanished, right?
I would love to see the cave prophecies come to play again :)

Sound's to me they are going back to season 3 mythos, and I love the idea...The prophecies are coming true...

Sorry, what I meant to say is that the caves have been around all along, so their not really "going back" to anything...it's always been there.

It was not the Talisman dagger...the Talisman dagger disintegrated when Lex and Lionel touched it.

That means nothing...the ship disintegrated when Clark killed Fine...or so we thought.

I just hope it is somehting along the lines of the season three storyline. that would be GREAT continuity. I'd be happy for months if that happens. I won't hold my breath though.
And I think it is another blade...along the same lines as the first, one though.
Oh, and just another thought. Could the blade that kills Kryptonians even kill Lex now? I mean, he looked to have the little Fine silverness when he healed at the end. Maybe he is more than Kryptonian....

I did not think it was the same dagger. I thought it was a different kryptonian dagger.

The idea of Clark killing Lex and the dagger is just too much of a coincidence...Has to be the same dagger...as for looks...the ships been redesigned...

The Talisman dagger is the new one. Clark made it or he got it from FOS. I think it will change Lex or Lex will use his power to block it.

According to "Tailsman" the dagger is used to:
Clark: It's supposed to shine a light on the true Segeeth so Naman can identify and destroy his greatest enemy.
So it's to kill the enemy not take it's power away.

Well even if it's not the same dagger, it would seem like the same kind of dagger needed to be used again. Whether it was recreated or reforged or somehow FoS has one, it does look like a similar dagger being used for the legend from Season 3.

it is a different knife then the one in tailisam sorry on spelling. as others said jorel in the fos probably gives it to him to have an edge against lex.

no, it turned to dust or whatever when Lex/Lionel touched it and it doesn't really look the same. but I thought of that dagger when I saw it.
-he could have been instructed on how to make a new one by Lionel/Jor-El through his automatic writing, good idea

Guys, it's not the same dagger. I have pics of the old one up at www.ezrasmall.com/kawatche-main.htm (go to the Gallery and then click on the pics of Palak, the Star Blade).
The symbols on the dagger (I did a freeze-frame on my VCR but it was pretty blurry) are definitely Kryptonian but aren't all straight letters-- one was the S-shield thing but a couple were composite symbols... Hmmmm... Anyone got a screencap?

ok this is my guess im guessing that mabey the season finale will continue on to the story of the Naman and Segeeth back from season 3 cause who really gives a F*** about season 4 anyways if u remember that the blade is used to kill namans greatest enemy and it has to be lex now lex=Segeeth. man this is soo cool that there going back to continuitiy from season 3 !! im so happy

it looks similar, but maybe the Kryptonian that made the Talisman one made others as well =)

Honestly, I believe Lex will not get his memory wiped because I figure it is time Lex knows about Clark secret so we can get the Clark hates Lex theme going on because I don't want to see this show end on two things.
1. LANA dating everyone as quick as Clark can run to save someone.
2. Having Clark act like a little sissy and be more of a man towards becoming Superman.

I doubt this is the dagger. There are also symbols on it. And the dagger in tailsman only showed Clark his true enemy. I am guessing it is a gift from daddy Jor-El.

Just a follow-up to my own post. But the dagger from Talisman was supposed to give Naman (Clark) all of his powers until he could control them. Does anybody think this new dagger will do the same thing? Will Clark get all of his powers from the new dagger? And would the dagger help him refine control over the ones he has already learned? What other powers besides flight and (gasp) Super Breath do you think he'll get? Your thoughts??

The best I could tell, with the blade pointing down, the letters are:
R (For Sure)
T (Maybe)
D (Maybe)
S (For Sure)
M (For Sure)
E (For Sure)

If the dagger was the same than wouldn't it just disintegrate when it touched Lex?

The point of the dagger -- the Talisman dagger, known as Palak, the Star blade -- was as follows (and this dialogue is verbatim): "It's supposed to shine a light on the true Sageeth so Naman can identify and destroy his greatest enemy."
Note it doesn't say Naman would actually use the dagger to destroy Sageeth; the blade was supposed to enable him to identify the baddie... Because "the blade will crumble if the wrong person [Sageeth] touches it."
Again, for all the relavent dialogue, go to www.ezrasmall.com/kawatche-main.htm and you'll see this is definitely not the same dagger.

The daggars are completely different. The one from Talisman goes straight to a point, while the one from Vessel curves outward on both sides and is more of a silverish tone.
On another note, they do both have kryptonian symbols on them.

No, the symbols on the Talisman dagger are not Kryptonian... Does no one look at the screenshots I referred to? Look specifically at this page: http://www.ezrasmall.com/gallerypages/Kawatche/palak.htm and you'll see the writing on Palak, the Talisman dagger, is *not* Kryptonian... It's some other weird language.
