It was critical for Lionel to day at the hands of Clark. Looks like something in Lionel can't be destroyed by Braniac or whomever that is. Braniac had to get desperate and try and order Clark to kill Lionel. Lionel was about to spill the beans to Clark but Braniac panicked. Then Lionel "Jor-El" maybe destroys that version of Braniac. Also something must be up now cause looks like Lex has the same powers that Braniac has?

Im sure Brainiac will be back, but that was awesome the way Lionel zapped him. I loved it.

Even though we kinda knew Jor-El was inside Lionel (ever since last season actually), finally "finding out" was awesome.

Perhaps Brainiac cannot "touch" Lionel, hence he needed Clark to kill him. Fine must know about Jor el's possession of Lionel.

It was probably something put into braniac when he was created that certain members of the kryptonian race can control him by certain means. And with lionel being possesed by jor el it allowed brainiac to be controlled by him, thus destroying him

I think Brainiac is incapable of destroying a Kryptonian...part of his programming?

if brainiac can't be touched by lionel, then how did he grow the balls to go to the fortress with clark in solitude?

What if since Clark won't unleash the real Zod that Fine injected Lex with something to turn him into Zod.

That's probably what is going to happen and I hate that idea.

I don't think he was injected with something to turn him into Zod...instead he was injected with the vaccine to make him superhuman so Zod could have a more suitable shell. Can't have Zod running around in a red blooded human body.

He's already back! It was just one of Brainiac's four bodies!

I think it has something to do with Lex being injected to change him into some form of kryptonian being to be "reborn" to affect the fortress releasing Zod. Fine will manipulate Lex into releasing Zod as some sort of payment for giving him those superhuman ablitlites. My theroy.

I thought so too. In fact, in my fanfic, "THE TRAGEDY OF LEX LUTHOR", I wrote a scene that was eerily similar to the one in this episode between Lex and Lionel, except they were discussing another character, not Professor Fine. But STILL! It was weird. I was thinking, "I totally wrote a scene like that!" :)

Is it a Jor-El program or actually Jor-El in Lionel?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That has a certain degree of logic to it (although, Clark would arguably have bought the farm in Solitude had Chloe not tossed the kryptonite. Perhaps it is that he cannot directly harm a Kryptonian.

BTW...GREAT EPISODE!!!
