The Reason Jonathan/or/Fine Wants Lionel Dead

I'm not sure whether this has been discussed before, but now that we know that SOMEBODY, whether it be Fine, Zod, or Jor-el is using Lionel as a random vessel, perhaps that's why Fine/or/Jonathan wants Lionel dead, so that that entity would no longer beable to act through Lionel and cause whatever impending forshadowed death and destruction.

I would only make sense that the entity, whoever it may be, is the one that the person is question is so afraid of.

Because at this point, I reeally doubt that it's Lionel himself who's plotting the aforementioned demise.


So now the question is, who -is- the force acting through Lionel?

It could be Zod, because we did get a zoomed in shot of a Kryptonian 'Z' through Lionels eyes, or it could be Jorel, because in a previous season he did in inhabit Lionel (or someone did, at least), but there's also been debate that it could be Fine.

What's your opinion?

Yea, that was pretty obvious when I saw 2 of them!! I agree with that!! that is the reason Brainiac wants Lionel Luthor dead because (Lionel is Jor-El's vessel)

cool man, i didnt think of it this way. i did realize he wanted lionel dead b/c lionel can stop him, but never that lionel was a vessel for jor-el

Jor-EL has pretty much already established Lionel was the "vessel to inhabit" in case Clark needed him, and the oracle of Kryptonian knowledge. Lionel is channeling Jor-EL's messages. The 'Z' you may have seen in the eye's of Lionel was "Jor-EL" reading of "Zod is coming" message along with a bizillion other Kryptonian messages.

And I don't see how Lionel could even possibly be Fine. "lionel" zapped Fine away in the end of this episode protecting Clark. Even if he [Jor-El] hadn't established Lionel was the vessel, the protection of Clark leads us to presume it is his birth father.

Hmm...this makes me realize something that I never did before. It means that Lana out of all people actually met Jor-El without even knowing it. But it was strange, since he spoke in the 3rd person (when he said "Their world is their poison" instead of "Our world is our poison"). I think he did that specifically to avoid freaking her out any more. But it does explain the way the kryptonite in the vault was glowing.

The only thing I don't understand is that he didn't have the Jor-El powers until the cataracts faded in Hidden. Prior to that, he had the cataracts, but not the powers. He seemed to be in a trance. In Oracle, Lionel had the powers when the cataracts appeared. I guess this is a plot hole, or something that may be explained soon.

So how did Jor-El know about Fine's plan to release Zod?

Xrayvision is right about the Kryptonite glowing in 'Arrival' because he was channeling Jor El- but why did it glow when Lex opened the box in 'Oracle'? There were no Kryptonians around.

^^^Maybe b/c Fine was there he was made by something Kryptonian but it just didn't affect him i don't have a really good answer for that though

Note that I did write my original message and my revelation about fifteen minutes into the show. By the end of it, all of my confusions and suspiscions were cleared up and confirmed to agree with exactly what you said.
