What a good episode!! Between the invisibility special effects, menacing looking FOTW and Lois X-Boxing it up/showering lol. This episode had it all. Plus you could tell Martha was almost trying to set Lois up with Clark when they were talking about dating the wrong guys. And when Chloe was telling Clark to move on, at the DP, it was almost like she was saying "go out with me" lol. I would love to see Chlark.

I don't understand what you mean, he seemed much wiser in this episode. Between telling Lana to stay away from Lex and Clark standing up to Graham. Good stuff.

I got a good laugh at how stupid Clark is 'geesh how can the Ghram ever know that I am alergic to meteor rock while I stand here in the middle of the Daily Planet and anounce it where anyone can hear me'
What a BDA
And did he break the telescope? I missed about 10 minutes of it but I assume he did from spoilers I read and since he was packing it away at the end.
if Breaking a telescope your recently departed father gave you in a jealous rage over your ex girlfriend who you broke up with dont make you a BDA then I dont know what will.

I didn't like or hate the episode. . . .
everything except the Chlark, and Clark checking out naked Lois, (which I thought was hilarious) was a bit blah, but overall, ehhh
5.5/10.
Clark is officially an idiot. And I hate how the writers acommodated the killer so much, to stretch the story to 60 minutes. Really, when was the last time we heard Clark use the word "meteor rock" when talking to Chloe?? He'll say Kryptonite 9.999 times out of 10, so I just thought that kinda sucked. And, honestly, I thought that Grahm's death was really funny. He just collapsed

I was not my favorite, but enjoyed watching it. It was pretty good. I loved all the Chlois trio moments as well as all the Pre-Clois stuff. Lexana did sicken me a bit, but I love how twisted it all is. The Martha/Lois talk at the end was priceless. It made the show, for me, personally.
Yeah, the villian was not that great, but honestly, he was not even in it that much. I did not mind this FotW. lol. Plus he opened many arcs for us. Lexana is out in the open, Lana was honest with Clark, Chloe chatted with Clark and Milton Fine is in contact with Lex. I think this was a high class filler that leads us perfectly into "Oracle"/"Vessel." I give it 9 invisible hit men out of 10.
Not to mention this one had much much more humor than the past episodes. All those Pre-Clois moments was nice.
I agree with what others have said about bringing in another male character next season. I think we need a little less drama and a little more love for season six.

Good:
Lois and situps
Lois and her abs
Clarks reaction to Lexana kissing
Digital Wall of Weird reference
Lois and Clark shower suprise
Super hearing, long time no use
Digging up Clark, powerful moment w/ Lois
Lois's wish to meet a decent guy
Lois and Clark foreshadowing
Bad:
Lana
Lana & Lex

idk if im the only one but do u think clark said that ''it doesn't work anymore'' because he can't see lana out of it anymore?? remember he used to always watch lana out of his telescope?...just my theory....
StealthyMakoto
04-27-2006, 08:21 PM
Clark didn't break the telescope, he was just putting it away. The line was "It doesn't work anymore", if I'm not mistaken.
And IMO this was a much better episode than I was expecting. Not great, but still good.
Edit: Kalel types faster apparently haha... but I took it as another step that he's getting over Lana.

It was way better than the crap they put on the air last week.
I just wish they could give Lois a decent storyline without having to rub her naked or half naked body in Clark's face. Like that's going to help anything along with the Clois relationship.
Yeah, I'm sure a relationship based totally on looks would work, it worked so well for Clana.

Yeah. I did like it. I'm still not quite sure of what it had to do with the overall story of the show, except for maybe allude to the future Lois and Clark relationship, but other than that ___? *crickets in the background for me* I still enjoyed the episode, and I got some laughs, but I think I need to watch the episode again.

This episode was borderline physically PAINFUL to watch. I thought I'd never say it but, I'm starting not to like Smallville.
Outside of the obviously disgusting Lexana, the holes in continuity just get wider and wider. We all suspect at this point that something HUGE is going to happen that involves Lex, Lionel(?), and Fine. Yet, Lionel is non existent aside from a reference that Martha called him!!??!?! We get some BS 2 second IM interaction between Fine and Lex. And Lex's sole purpose in the episode is his whirlwind anomalous dalliance with his new prize.
If anyone with ANY influence on this show is out there: PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP DESTROYING MY FAVORITE SHOW!!!!!
You know it's a sad state of affairs when the strongest part of the episode is Lois' contribution when she's been nothing but a weakly written secondary character up until now....

I liked it. Didn't love it, but there were fun moments.
I enjoyed all the Chloe and Lois scenes (the shower scene was hilarious), and Clark hearing all the heartbeats was a really nice touch. Also, the super-jump at the beginning to save Graham was nicely done. There was no hesitation; Clark saw--he jumped--he saved. Very Superman.
To Lexana--I think that Clark NOT flipping out and going into a jealous rage was a BIG step in the right direction. He's accepted he can't be with Lana, but he's scared for her because he doesn't trust Lex. That feels so much better, and a lot less selfish on his part.
The invisibility idea has already been done, but this take was more interesting. I liked Graham's personality and he was fun to watch; however, but his character did seem to lack consistency--"I owe you my life, and I'm going to give you tons of gifts. Oops! Now, I'm going to kill you!" I know why they did that, but Graham showing no regret about having to kill Clark seemed unrealistic.
Also, when does Clark call Kryptonite "meteor rock?" Just like in "Obsession" when Pa Kent called it meteor rock, it doesn't make sense. They only call it that when someone they don't want to know is watching. Plot hole. :(
Alas, it was just a filler, however, and has to be taken as such. Overall, it was fun.

It was an OK episode but it did have its really cool momemts. Especially when Lois opens the door to the bathroom while holding the brush or whatever and Clark is just standing there staring at her and she stares back before slamming the door. That was so Hilarious!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was fine. Didnt knock my socks off or anything but it was fairly entertaining. Love the Chlark. I think its funny that Chloe is clearly a better superhero than Clark. You know she's alot like Oracle (Barbara Gordon). Anyway I liked Lois, I get the feeling that she thinks Clark likes her which makes me think that she likes him. Um....Graham was alright, he didnt have the greatest back story or motive but whatevs. I still believe that Lex is using Lana given that he and Fine or partners. I cant wait for Zod by the way....Zod 2008!!!!! It was no tailsman but it was better than Ageless (both ep 20).

I just wish that TPTB would move the show's progress on a little faster. I'm getting a little sick of everything being centered around Lana. To me it seems with the finale right around the corner, there are a great deal of other things to focus on. It just seems that the overall story of Clark's destiny has been on cruise control for awhile. I just want to see something happen. Ok, I'm done now.

No, the problem is that they move storylines along too fast, like lexana, while keeping other storylines in one place for two long, like Brainiac. They rush the things that the fans don't want to see and the things that they rush are always unrealistic, but the Brainiac/Zod/Lionel storylines take forever to get going.

Don't I love you. How true.
Again, I will be the only on this whole damn site to be displeased at the fact that AGAIN, Clark has in one line reitered is uninterest in journalism. I don't know about the rest of the world, but as for me, I never suddenly liked something I am not even remotely interested in. You have to at least have some kind of interest in order for something to become a lifelong career. Worse, Clark was a journalist for some time, and decided to not pursue in that direction. How is this going to even become something he is passionate about ?
I could not believe how Erica stretched her body in that shower so we could see her forms better. Another shower scene, how original. Just like the Wal-Mart section for kryptonite. I mean, it's where Graham went to buy a chunk of the meteor rock, right ?
Another glimpse at Lois and Clark future love life with a denial statement from Lois : " Not in this lifetime". How original. Keep droping anvils, I love that.
Chloe is still a machine, and she is still Clark's guru. She is not a friend, she is the future Dalaļ-Lama. Well, Allison Mack had almost something to work with in this episode since she almost had an emotion to play when she had a fight with Clark. Well, it didn't lasted and she can be next week this blond-haired computer that we all love.
How can Clark say Chloe doesn't know how he felt when he saw Lexana kissing ? I mean... how dumb. It's Chloe.
Lexana is discusting. Why ? Because it's coming out of nowhere.
This week, another FoTW died. I just love how human life is valued in Smallville.
Overall, a "I want to die" episode. I miss watching Smallville out of fun. Now, it's out of loyalty. And hope.

I think the 2 best episodes are yet to come because they have Brainiac in them!!! James Marsters is an awesome actor.
Just because you've seen Lana and Lois in shower scenes doesn't mean it was them!! alot of actors don't like to show their naked bods. Alot of stand in's for that stuff..
Altho, I wouldn't put it past Erica to have done just that, she does have a rockin' bod and might as well flaunt it. lol

Personally, I really liked this episode. Good continuity, a likable FotW who actually seemed to fit in with the rest of the cast, and that great moment when Clark used his super-hearing to focus on Graham's heartbeat. That's quite possibly the most Supermany thing he's done for a long time.

Well, not my favorite FOTW, but I like Chlark working together, and I realize now that I'm in the minority here, but I also enjoyed the Lexana.
You know, this whole Lex/lana thing....I've been expecting it to happen since the beginning. I mean, why would Lex care so much for Clark's object of desire? was my first question, and I think it has been answered now.

I voted for alright. I wasn't completely bored out of my mind like I was with "Fragile" or "Tomb". The motive to kill Lana and Lex at the end was wonky. I mean since he is a killer for hire, then he should have wanted Chloe and Lois dead as well since they know what he looks like :\. That was one flaw I thought was annoying. Plus can this FoTW get anymore perverted? I mean he is staring at Lois working out, and in the shower. For a long ol' time.
I was happy to see Clark in a different clothes . Nice change of pace lol. Most definitely. The shower scene with Lois I thought was well-executed. It was a little bit different meaning they did the creep factor, and have Lois well aware someone was in the room. Plus well Clark see all of Lois was too funny . I actually liked Clark in this episode   except for the last Chlark scene where I thought he was insensitive.
I liked that Clark broke Lana's picture, and not his telescope his dad gave them. Glad they changed the script on that one. With the whole ship-crazyness I really don't care, so I have nothing to say except that it's almost predictable to have Brainaic's arc in the B Plot in the second half, but man it makes the episodes leading to the finale boring as dry toast . Too much ship, and not enough balance. It makes the finales rushed, and like AlMiles style since S1 they always end in cliffhangers . Makes things way too predictable on the show's formula in season outlining.
I did enjoy Martha/Lois scene at the end. What can I say I'm sentimental when those scenes come up :\. I liked Chloe's Batman reference. This episode wasn't even average, but it was tolerable.

I actually really enjoyed this episode.
Now that I live in Burbank, I was not able to see it until Friday. It was pre-empted due to basketball. With that being said, I had all of Thursday after Smallville aired to read what people thought. There were a lot of people that did not really care for this episode all that much. Maybe it was due to the fact that my expectations were low, but to me this was a good episode.
It was the first episode in awhile where I actually liked Lois and all of the forshadowing actually made me warm up to Smallville's version of Clois a bit. The talk at the end with Lois and Martha about getting through all the bad guys to find the right one was great. I really want to love the Clois ship, because Lois and Clark have always been my favorite fictional couple. They have just done such a horrible job developing and writing Lois on Smallville. But there was some awesome Clois in this episode.
I really liked the villain. I thought he was a great character.
The special effects sequence at the beginning was cool with the save.
Nice forshadowing of Clark's future as a reporter with the press pass. They barely ever do any forshadowing at all in regards to Clark's future as a reporter, so that was nice to see.
This episode also had some very good light hearted moments like with Clark seeing Lois naked. That was hilarious. You do have to wonder why Lois would answer a door naked. I mean, if you have time to get out of the shower and make your way over to the door, you have time to put on a towel. But hey, reality aside, it was a great scene.
On a shallow note, ED looked extremely sexy in this episode. They have done a horrible job developing Lois and writing her overall. But man is she sexy. She looked incredible in that dress in the club in Metropolis, as well as when she was working out. Just wow!
The only bad thing about this episode was going back to the Clana once again. That was seriously my only gripe.
Overall the episode had some nice Clois forshadowing (the best in a long time), a nice hint at Clark's future as a reporter, and a cool villain.

My friends, I saw this episode on Friday and I have to say that I was terribly disappointed. This season started on such a high note and it is now turned into the worst Smallville season of all. Season 1, 2, 3, and 4 all had a point or an overall goal. But this season doesn't seem to have a real goal on what it's trying to accomplish. In other words, it's a mess. It has no direction what so ever and it keeps creating random plots that don't seem to fit together. The whole Kryptonian/Brainiac plot is totally non existent at this point and time and it was made out to be what the season was going to be about. Season 5 is basically season 1, 2, 3, and 4 jumbled together without any form of direction. I'm very saddened on how this season has turned out and I hope season 6 puts things back on course.
Anyway back to the review. Fade was bad. It was probably the worst episode episode I've seen since Fanatic. This episode seemed to be a exact copy of all the other FotW episodes and the worst part is, they stole the villian idea from Spiderman including the name 'Chamelion'( Spiderman has a nemesis called Chamelion and he has the same powers that this Chamelion had). This whole Lexana thing is the worst idea ever. I don't like the idea of Lana of being Smallville's version of Miss Tesmocker( i think that's how her name is spelled in Superman The Movie). The acting was good, but the storyline just didn't bring anything new to the table except help make Lois realize that her future boyfriend will be Superman. All in all, I give this terrible episode a 3/10.

I didn't think Fade was a bad episode, but I think it continued the trend of using the A story as a framework to develop the love triangle between Clark, Lana and Lex. As someone who isn't that interested in the ships on this show, it's frustrating to have every story line tangled up in the soap aspects of SV. What I found most engaging about Mercy was that the main story, even though it involved Martha, was really about Lionel and Lex, and the devopment of Lex's destiny. It deepened the tension between Lex and Clark based on the dynamic between Lex and Clark -- not based on Lana. Eeesh.

Overall the episode had some nice Clois forshadowing (the best in a long time), a nice hint at Clark's future as a reporter, and a cool villain.
wow u just like summed up the entire ep. lol, i agree about how the clois played out in this episode. And There was some foreshadowing with the presspass, etc. And yes the clana at the end was just downright unneeded this episode or any other IMO. The reason being clana is over, hard for clana fans to get over, but it's true. .... O yea, E.D. did look veerry sexay this epp =] sit-ups never looked so good, lol haha

Liked a scene here and there, but basically was just an hour to waste.

One of the things that I really like about SV as it has gone along is that the FOTWs have been kept pretty fresh. S1 and S2, it was all High School kids just getting their abilities. Now, characters have had them for years. It is natural that they would've built lives around them. Graham was an interesting twist. Other than that, here are my thoughts:
The Good
- The scene at the beginning with Clark saving Grahams life. It was a short little scene, but it was new. I don't think that we've seen Clark jump much.
- The bookend scene at the end with Clark saving Lex was also pretty well done. You saw it coming a mile and a half away, but it was still pretty good.
- The Chloe-Clark scenes. It was nice to see them give a little nod to the history, even it was just in the performances. That is something they have gotten much better at this season.
- The effect when Graham was invisible was fun, if a bit poorly used. I mean, you have an invisible man POV shot and you don't use it in the climax to build tension?
- It was a nice little geek thrill seeing Lex and Dr. Fine are working together on some evil scheme.
The Bad
- The Lex-Lana scenes were awful. MR is so good when playing off the rest of the cast that it is shocking seeing him so brutally bad when trying to be romantic with KK.
- The mishandling of the character arc with Lana. This is hardly a new problem. The Clana was wildly inconsistent on her side for years. It must be hard for KK to remember where she is supposed to be week-to-week.
- The Lois B-Plot with the FOTW. This has been over-done. It was nice that they acknolwedged it, but it is time to leave it in the past. Can't Chloe fall for the FOTW anymore? What about a FOTW that doesn't have a romantic link to anyone?
The Odd
- When they first used the shower scene in "Crusade", it was a bold announcement of a new maturity from Lana (which they didn't follow up on, but still ...). Since, they used the same shot two more times and it is getting tired. I mean, as far as I can tell the person body doubled KK, AM and ED in the same shower. They need a new 'sexy' scene.
- Lois as MKs Chief of Staff is terrible. The actors are a lot older than their characters, so why draw attention to it when you don't have to? Lois could just as easily be a college student, or a barista for what they have her doing.

That's a great episode's resume...I agree.
I think that Clark will have to come clean with Lana about his secret if he wants her to understand his perspectives of Lex.Then, she'll see Lex for who he really is and she will have to apologise to Clark for being so rude with him all these years...Can't wait to see that:D
Lana will have to let him go on his great destiny on better therms this time and Clark will be free at last...:)

I enjoyed this very much. Except Lois shower scene but it was funny when Clark found her! Clark and Lois banter was cute in this and Clark and Chloe even cuter! I fear for Lana though. She defiantly continues with Lex despite what everyone is saying to her.
