I breathed a sigh of relief when there was no Lexana kissing in "Mercy." I just don't understand why there is Lexana at all. It obviously won't end well. What do you guys think?

I won't end well, that's for sure. Personally, I think there's absolutly no reason for Lexana if you rule out arbitrary drama and Lana fetish.

But that's just me.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! my eyes were feeling VERY lucky when there was no Lexana. And Lana ran out again the second Lex brought up "the other night". This PROVES she doens't like him after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least in my imagination it does.

You folks are hilarious in a serious sort of way in your posts.

I must admit for different reasons mind you, that more Lexana would have detracted from the overall main story plot and its absence the majority agree.

Yeah, there would have been no point in haing Lexana in "Mercy".

I was very pleased that the lexana screen time was only about a minute. Very pleased, and Lex looked pissed when his phone rang.

Temper Temper!

I have a new theory. Lex is attracted to Lana...but, he has a greater agenda for her. To use her to lure Clark out of hiding. We saw that last night when Lex all but came out and said that he knew Clark had powers. And it seems that Lana has realized that she started something with Lex that was a mistake and she is trying to find a way to get out of it without destroying her friendship with Lex.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like a Lex Luthor plan.

Has anybody even considered the possibility that Lexana is just a publicity ploy by tptb to stir the pot and make everybody all hyper about the show.

It might only come to that one kiss and now Lana realizes the mistake she made and is slowly pulling away from him.

Plausible and at the same time he also knows and has acknowledged in 'Tomb' to Clark that Chloe is his "best friend he trusts more than anyone in the world".

You remember the scene at the hospital as Clark looks in a strapped down Chloe prepared to be transported to Belle Reve?

Lex may also have "two pronged" agenda besides "the Lana two-for-one-special"....as he said to Lana at their chess game:

"....anticipate before hand your opponent's move...."

So from Lex's perspective....IF ONE PLAN FAILS (Lana) HAVE A BACKUP PLAN (Chloe...who seems always the backup girl in love and deception) all to get to Clark. Provoking Chloe and smoking her out, if anything happens to Lana??

As Lionel said:

"After all these years, you are still obsessed with Clark....let it go son...let it go!"

I laughed when lex said something like " I thought we were enjoying a game of chess"

My eyes might have been refreshed, but not my ears hearing that they'd spent all week together certainly wasn't. What the hell were they doing all week, can't go out, might run into Clark. I guess lots of boring chess. And she did look bored.

Yes, it was nice. I liked that really the only story was about Lionel/Martha.
