View Full Version : Chloe figuring out the signal...

I don't know about any of you, but I find it very ridiculous how Chloe was able to triangulate the signal at the office there. Is there anything that this girl cannot do? I know that she can do research and hack into databases, that's ridiculous enough, but finding a signal? Is she a reporter or does she work with IT?

Nevermind...just found the other thread. Someone delete this.

That's nothing, Chloe is a computer hacker and she has done things much harder than this!!

I wish to make it more believable, they would have showed her using some device she got from Gen. Sam Lane as she did in Jinx. That would have been so much more believable. Simple scenes that take only a few seconds can make such a difference.

Get a boyfriend....lol....I'd help her out with that problem until she got it right!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an adent Chloe fan, and I agree it's overkill for her to have the mad computer skills (though the tons of sources and saving Clark in the FOS don't bother me a bit).

But it didn't come out of nowhere - it's good continuity, considering Mortal.

Of course, and she had drivers for that custom-built specialized piece of hardware that she had never seen before right in her back pocket. A little window would have popped up on her screen when she plugged it in saying:

Non-Standard Issue Homemade High Res. Wireless Carrier Transmitter detected...

Please wait...

Your new hardware is installed and ready to use.

LOL

It's an hour show about Superman and Chloe's computer hacking skillss is secondary. Even the Matrix was about hacking and they got alot of things wrong. What Chloe does is not hard especially for an hour show. It's not like she could use NMAP to infiltrate a computer system in an hour long show.

It's not like she could use NMAP to infiltrate a computer system in an hour long show.It is not like she could have even used the hardware with her computer in the first place, unless:

- Included along with the transmitter in the little statue, was a handy driver disc!

- Included along with the transmitter in the little statue was full documentation of the hardware, allowing her to write her own drivers.

- She took the time to reverse engineer the hardware to obtain documentation allowing her to write her own drivers.

This thread reminds me a lot of last week's Mind of mencia.

"If you're sitting at home saying.... "Dude, that's not even real klingon... you're a *Censored* LOSER!!!"

I nitpick... but damn... what would you rather have... lionel and martha die simply because... hey, this isn't real.

guess what... so are aliens living on earth.

I wouldn't think triangulating a location would be that difficult if you once could hack into the signal broadcast itself. I think after seeing Chloe's trunk full of gadgets we can assume she does have some very specialized and useful equipment, quite possibly loaned or given to her by Uncle Sam or Lois.

Seriously. I like her character a lot, but this is getting ridiculous! Give her a toothpick, some asprin, and a stale jar of picle juice and she could build a flux capacitor and take Clark into the future to see his destiny, forget all this talking in riddles!

Why, yes she is! Excellent idea! Give her some chewing gum and a safety pin and Clark can just sit back!

Which is something any good reporter should know.

She's Chloe! She can hack computers, break into buildings, solve Kryptonian mysteries, and all with perfect hair.

She obviously builds her own gadgets from scratch.

Totally agree with the OP, the writers are using Chloe as a deus ex machina. She is a catch-all when they need something to be solved so that Clark can go do his thing. It is getting ridiculous but I guess it serves a needed purpose, it makes it easier for writers to churn out episodes quickly.
