I agree. I think that Lionel does have some real feelings for Martha. If he could only supress his inner MB he might actually convince her he is worthy. The MB will always shine through eventually. Unless Lionel truely changes his ways and could die at the hand of Lex.

Yea I think that was pretty obvisious since what season three? when Lionel was inside Clarks body and he used his heat vision accidently when hugging Martha.
