Ok, I know vampires aren't everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely adore Rice's books. Vampire lovers, I'm sure, have read at least a couple of her works. At times her writing is a little hard to follow, but once everything's sorted through and straightened out, you'll fall deeper in love with the book.

My favorite books she's written are Interview with a Vampire, Servant of the Bones, and Blood and Gold.

Also, has anyone ever read any of her son's works? - A Density of Souls, The Snow Garden, Light Before Day?

I am not going to be able to add much to this thread.... I've never read any of Anne Rice's books and a good friend of mine told me I was missing out. I did see Interview With the Vampire but I'm sure the book was better. Oh, I also saw Queen Of the Damned but I don't remember much about it except that it seemed a little weird. Then again, I didn't know the plot... I heard that she has become Catholic or something and writing about Jesus' childhood now.... sounds rather interesting... that's going a little off subject, I guess, far from vampires and what have you.... is her son's work just as good?

Interview With a Vampire is much better than the movie, but I happen to prefer the Queen of the Damned movie over the book version. For some reason the book didn't hold my interest too well. I still haven't finished reading it yet. Writing about Jesus' childhood? That could be interesting as long as she doesn't add too much out-of-the-blue stuff. I'll probably read it just because it's her, though.

And as for her son.. You can tell their writing is somewhat similar, but Anne goes much deeper into her descriptions. Maybe going a little off-subject, if you will. Christopher's works are very exceptional, though. I was expecting them to be cheap ripoff's of his mom, but I was wrong.
