Because bringing back Maddie would only further emphasize how much this episode was a copy of "Stray". They might as well just stick with the formula and call the return episode "Maddie".

maddie wouldnt be a good character to bring back.. it seems to me that the writers wanted us to connect to her character like we all did with ryans.
