Clark did need to shave, and Martha did have too much make up, but hey, she still looks youthful...in a way.

I thought the same thing perhaps we'll be seeing more of Clark with 5 o'clock shadow, what better way to visually show a man maturing, or because he was directing something had to give time wise, so there was less time for him in the make-up chair.

It also makes him look 30. Not good when you're supposed to be playing a college freshman.

I'm right there with you! I always have good dreams on Thursdays..... :D

I didn't think Clark looked scruffyish. He looked perfectly beautif- uh, normal to me. :D Martha did look like she had a little more eye-liner or something on in this episode than normal.

I want to see what Clark looks like with a jawline beard or a goatee. Beards are cool. :D

Oh man, I loved his look tonight. Nothing wrong with a little scruff. He's all growned up now, and looked smoking.

I know. :) But Tom hasn't looked like a teenager since SV started, IMO. He has moments when he looks really young, but they're brief. If I start thinking about how old he's supposed to be in this show, I get distracted trying to find moments when he actually looks that age.

Yes we all noticed the shadow, no doubt from the hours spent in the "director's chair"!

I'm in 8th grade and there are kids with a whole lot of facial hair an a lot more than they let Tom have lol. So the facial hair shouldnt be an issue at all

LoL...I guess that just depends on the freshman. On my college campus there are quite a few guys who have facial hair. It's totally normal. Granted, I know what you meant by your comment - Tom Welling is older, and does need to have a "younger" look to him- but I didn't even notice the facial hair. hmm, maybe I need to watch the episode again.

Yeah, I've already mentioned this in a couple other threads. How I worked it into what the content of the thread was I have no idea lol, but I think it went along the lines of ....TW was so preoccupied with delivering on his big directorial epi that he didn't pay attention to Clark's close shave. I noticed the 5 o'clock shadow too.

It's not that he has facial hair, it's that he looks a lot older than the average 18 year old, and about the ONLY thing they can do to make him look young is have him clean shaven.

however since s3 when he sported decent sideburns, they could stop covering up because by then it's clear Clark's bears was fully in (and in season 1 a few scenes, they did a better job of hiding it though)

and yea I've known a few young kids that could grow decent beards, this one kid I played hockey with was like 13 and had mad chops and goatee
