i had a similar reaction. this all caught me by surprise as i walked into the door i saw the tv on (i was out and it was taping) i walked in right when they started staring eachother down, then when they kiss i kind of fell to the floor and writhed around like clark does around kryptonite. it was to much for my heart to bear.

Actually, being a huge Clana fan I gotta give some credit to the writers of the show. As disgusted as I initially was at the thought of Lexana, by making Clark look like a major p**ck in Hypnotic, the writers in turn actually made Lexana MUCH more digestable to me. I thought it was a cute scene and a cute kiss. Clark blew it so let Lana move on with whomever she chooses. Right now I'm pretty disappointed in the Fool of Steel, so hopefully by the Season finale he somehow redeems himself.

I saw the kiss as advancing the "Lana betrays Clark" storyline - so I was OK with it. The episode set it up so we realize how Lex is manipuating Lana and how easily she is able to be manipulated - even though Chloe warned her! I think it will be a great pay-off when Lana realizes how wrong she has been (Again!) and how deceitful Lex really is!

Yes, Lana was the person of choice from the writers and tptb perspective....she was the only one out of everyone that could provide the "dramatic impact" for.....yes...Jonathan Kent's demise!

The Choice option was probably considered from their POV but they dismissed that concept as too flaming and volitle for Clark to make a Direct choice.

And they played the Global audience well.

So now we have the ultimate breakup and for my taste it had to happen sooner THAN later! For progression to the future!

I don't care about the ships and I'm annoyed that the interesting stuff is always offscreen (Verizon, level 33.1 in the VC's, now this AOL thing) while the relationship drama gets the most attention on the show. I agree, SV would definitely be a much better show if all of the Verizon/AOL stuff was actually in the show itself.
