How do you think he did directing? Do you think he made the episode better then any other director might have?

Well, according to the preview clip... The man should direct every episode!!

i think he probably did a really GREAT job i mean after watching the directors direct episodes for over 100 eps. you've gotta learn a thing or two, right?

I bet his directing will blend in so much that I wouldn't know the difference. From the preview clip, the direction seemed as normal as previous episodes, but it's still early to tell. I'm sure he will do a great job, though.

It was a beautiful episode!
I think he did a good job -- it looked like any other episode. Like, if they hadn't told us he was the director, I would have just thought it was one of the regulars. That, to me, means he was successful at it.

I couldn't even tell a difference between his directing and all of the others, so for someone who isn't actually a director, I think he did a great job.

I thought Tom did a great job overall. There were a couple shots that were awkwardly done (like Lois and the girl's picnic scene), but I thought it was nicely done!

Mr. Welling did a great job. I actually thought that the episode was very well paced and shot beautifully, and his acting didn't suffer either.

he did a good job doing the episode. it was just a filler so he didnt have much to do in regards to continueing the story line but he did great for his first time. hope he gets to direct another episode next year.

Fabulous job, Tom! Some of the camera angles were especially fine, and with his being director, I trust they came from his, uh, well, direction.
It was a total surprise to me that he got the chair, I hope there's more. Star Trek had many of the actors get to direct. Hmmm, I wonder what MR would do with an ep?
