am i the only one who could see the fog coming out with every breath clark took? i know the scenes were shot in vancouver, but im surprised they didnt go to greater lengths to hide that... and the fact that the woman was wearing a sweater was pretty unrealistic. honduras is basically on the equator... no sweaters necessary.

Yeah, I was wondering that same thing myself during the scenes in Honduras...My Honduras in Smallville universe is cold

I think I got one. In the scene with Pa Kent, Clark start talking about his guilt and the bargain he made with Jor-El. It seemed to me he was acting like his father didn't know, but he told him in another episode (Solitude...)
It just felt weird...

Agreed on this one. I thought he was going to (and should have) told him about going back in time to save Lana, thus dooming Pa Kent. Of course, given that Lillian and JK both seemed to have some sort of future vision now that they're dead, I guess he already knew the stuff he didn't know from the past as well, and it wouldn't have been necessary either way.

Clark: He told me there'd be a price. The life of someone I love. I'm so sorry.
JK: It's alright Clark... I died protecting you.
Clark: ...actually, you died protecting Lana. Jor-El decided to take her life, and I bargained with him to let him take your life instead.

In response to this question, I think that jonathon was mainly the one that hated the Luthers so much. Martha is the forgiving type that sees that good in people, thats why shes friends with him.
I haven't watched the episode more than once but I could have sworn that he wore that plaid shirt in what would have been two days in a row.

At the very least she knows he killed his parents and fried his sons brain to keep him from telling the cops, and she knows of his actions in Transference.

Hmm..good point. I think in Memoria (maybe Legacy), Lionel shows up at the door when Clark tells him that Lex is seeking radical treatment at Summerholt. He tells Martha that there is always a position for her at Luthorcorp, but she shrugs as if she wants nothing to do with it.
I dunno. Maybe she believed Clark when he said that Lionel had a change of heart in Bound and heard of him setting up that charity.

yeah that is what I was thinking but then again it might of just been something incase someone had just started watching the series but still it came off weird like Clark was thinking that Jonathan didnt know someone was going to die.

Umm, Clark didn't die with kryptonite injected in him.
Lana didn't get to see her parents after several trips, yet Clark and Lex got theirs in one.

Ahh..But Lionels telling Clark about Lex's radical treatment was really a guise to get him there and experiment on him, with KRYPTONITE!:eek: He almost killed Clark, thats a big boo boo.
LOL, I like to pretend Bound never happened. But you're right, maybe she did believe him. So now he needs to tell her he was wrong. :p:p

That might be because Lance would only let Lana "die" for a limited amount of time, Lana had to beg him to let her "stay dead" for two minutes. Both Lex and Clark were injected and left for dead, so who knows how long they were actually "dead" before they met up with their parents on the other side.

Clark being injected with the K-serum.

I agree, I thought that was.... strange.

If he is near Kryptonite he can be cut.
Helen was able to take a vial of his blood when he was sick with that weird Kryptonite poisoning/sickness thing, and Clark was able to cut himself to give Morgan Edge some of his blood when he was near a peice of Kryptonite.

One thing I noticed: how did the syringe pierce Clark's skin? He's invulnerable.
It had to be the Kryptonite, but it didn't even occur to me at first that the needle shouldn't penetrate his skin.

Because of the Kryptonite. Clarks skin can be cut he's too close to that stuff, he was even able to cut himself to give Morgan Edge some of his blood by pulling out a peice of Kryptonite.

I 100% agree. The similarity of Lionel+Martha-Jonathan is very similar to Lex+Lana-Clark.
I am still mad in episode 100 that Lana left the Kent party to go comfort a drunken lex with her engagement ring hand.
I should be just as mad to see Martha, going out with Lionel. I know you say oh its just an official dinner. I call Bravo Sierra to anyone who thinks that Martha is being proper to Jonathan's Memory by going to an official state function with Lionel.
Lionel?????? Didn't Martha pay attention in the other episodes to what he did to Jonathan and Clark?
I am not a fan of these triangle romances. I know the writers are trying to stir us up by showing Martha and Lionel going out and Lex and Lana kissing, but you what for my dollar.....this has nothing to do with why I watch the show.
I watch the show for superman. I watch the show for Clark to become superman.
Not to see Clark as someone who broods, "My girlfriend is dating my enemy, my mom is dating my enemy's dad".
I mean did the writers not think that we are tired of these Hamlet story lines?
Is Lana really Ophella?
DarkKnight32
04-09-2006, 10:36 AM
Not sure if she's suppose to Ophella metaphorically , but it seem's to me they <tptb> do these love triangles to get that 18-30 female demographic. They did it with all other show's like Dawson's Creek and Ange...any others..i'm surel. In any event, the fact that Martha would even consider going out < whether it be for business or dare I say....PLEASURE! > with Lionel with all the pain he has cause her family..is absolute crazyness.
What the tptb are leading you to believe is that....love can be hazardous to the brain. That can be the only logical explanation or there's something in the water..which obviously there is...because in reality..people just don't do these idiotic things...but still it's enjoyable to watch.
As for Lana...and the whole parents thing...give her a break...her ex-boyfriends a alien.....and his ex-best friend is trying to hook up with her by making her believe he saw ...lol...a spaceship. Too crazy....i'm kidding of course. It i s t.v of course for every ones entertainment <who enjoy these type of story lines>...but some of these repetitive story lines and loves triangles have already begun to wear on me. They say there is one more season left...maybe there saving the best for last.

MidgardDragon is right, Smallville shouldn't be a soap opera, it should be true to the fans of the comics... A 3rd of the fan don't watch the show just to see whose going to fall in love with who, they watch it because it's supposed to stay true to Clark Kents mythology... I'm guessing this is the reason why the show has declined in ratings these past 2 weeks. I don't blame the people who stop watching, TPTB is screwing us over... -Everything you've wanted to see my A**.... -_-

Just as people in real life repeat their own idiotic mistakes. ;) What Martha needs is someone to come in and tell her what an idiotic thing she's doing, because just as with a person in reality, she doesn't see what she's doing from an outside point of view.
I think that realization will probably come when Lionel makes whatever his intentions for "Kal-El" are known.

This episode did Clark justice if you ask me. He didn't brood in it at all. Chloe spoke to him about accepting that Lana will move on and all he said back was "she deserves to be happy". Then at the end he told Lana that himself. He was kind of moon-eyeing it I guess, but he still likes her - he's bound to.
Also, about becoming superman.. definitely starting to happen. He doesn't just fend off the occasional meteor freak, he runs to Honduras to find and stop a threat to the planet.

Give Clark time guys and we are sure to see the super mope ability again. I too was so releved to see Clark start acting more Supes like. I was thinking finally Clark is thinking like the man he is to become rather then fixate on Lana and his lovelife woes. What I couldn't understand about this episode was JK came back to warn Clark to keep his mom and the whole world safe and that Lionel knows his secret, but when he came to the house to pick up his mother Clark just stood there. Then he went to visit Chloe and Lana. Didn't he listen to his dad???Why would he just let his mom go and not even check up on her?

He was clearly going to tell her, remember he said that they needed to talk? Then Lionel came over. Clark didn't want to put his Mom in danger by confronting Lionel while she was there, or by telling her what he knew and having her go Ma Kent on Lionel. It was obvious that Lionel wasn't going to do anything to hurt Martha from recent events, so Clark played it safe.

The question i have is did Clark get the injection of brown stuff to bring him back or did his dad somehow just send him back. I just assumed chloe gave him an injection. If not then it would be pretty cheesy that he just came back from the kryptonite injection.

Yes, I want to see more of Clark embracing his destiny. However, with the telescope-smashing thing, I believe that is just a "human" reaction to seeing the woman you've loved forever hook up with your ex-friend. I know that would make me angry. And hasn't Jor-el told Clark that human emotion is what will make him weak? Sounds like this is a lesson he must learn on his journey to becoming Superman.

I didn't watch the scenes that closely, but in all the card readers at my law school, you have to swipe it with the magnetic stripe facing toward your right side (except for the reader to get into the library, where it has to face left). I remember when I first got here it totally felt backward, since I was used to swiping with the stripe facing my left side from my college. You also can't tell by looking at the reader which way the stripe is supposed to go - it looks like it could fit in either way. So it just goes to show that there isn't really a "right" or "wrong" direction to face it, as long she did it consistently facing the same way.
The real question is why a first-year undergrad has an ID card that swipes her into the med students' gross anatomy lab. Especially since it doesn't strike me that Lana is taking any classes involving the anatomy lab.

It's not a matter of left or right, the magnetic strip must pass through the reader (which leaves have of the card sticking out). In the scene, her thumb is on the strip, and only plastic is passed through. But whatever.

Yea, I know what you mean. Sometimes I just wonder how it's possible for these things to happen so much.

if it was superbreathe thats a sucky introduction to it. even the superjump in lucy was a better intro. i really want him to get super breathe tho by the end of the season. he hasnt even gained a power yet. and i would be happy if he got on some red k too this season.
The lack of breath in Arrival (by Chloe, and Clark for that matter) bugs me more than the presence of breath here.

Ah, okay, I originally thought you meant she was just facing the card with the mag stripe away from the correct side of the slot. But yeah, if the mag stripe isn't even IN the slot, that poses a problem. Unless Met U issues weirdo ID cards with multiple stripes.
