I don't know what it was about this episode, but despite being a big fan of his, I think this might have been the worst episode that Michael has ever acted.

Everything seemed flat, especially with his mother. I just felt that he had no energy toward his mom, nor Lana. It's like he didn't even care.

I love Rosenbaum.. but I'll have to agree. He was definitely "flat". I know he just saw his mom at Christmas, but jeez give me more than "wide eyes and open mouth" LOL

You know, I had no problem with it until I saw this. But you're right.

Actually, I have to agree... he is usually so awesome, but he didn't react that much to what his mom was saying. Also, the chemistry between him and KK was off.

I think that I'll have to watch the episode again on another day to have a valid reference (like when I'm sober, lol).

Yeah, I hate to say this but thinking about it you guys are right, his acting really wasn't all that great in this episode. It was a bit flat, and come to think of it his acting has been a bit flat for some time now, which was probably why I didn't really notice anything until I read this thread. Hmm.:\

I love MR--Love him--but yeah, I do know what you mean. He was 'calling in' his performance a bit.

Despite how much I despise Lexana--normally he helps KK bring her game up--and there's a bit of spark--but tonight I could almost hear crickets...

He's absolute money when he's with Marsters, and always great when with Welling and Glover, but with Kreuk, it's almost like he's never been with a girl before and can't relate

Are we talking dead like in hit by a car and brought back through time reversal, or dead as in kryptonite injection and brought back with special amber liquid? 'Cause one of those is really tricky!

(my PM frightened you--didn't it? :\ )

It didn't have his usual....energy, but at the same time - I also kinda saw it as him really becoming the heartless Lex we're waiting for him to be - flat yes, but it also said alot for the person he's becoming....my thoughts anyway...

I think he was off tonight, flat is the right word. His scenes with Lana, Chloe and his mother wheren't as good as other scenes in the past.

I'll take TIME REVERSAL for 1000, Alex... I don't trust that Kryptonite stuff. It could cause me to catch "the crazies" like it does with everyone else.

I think he is OK. I didn't notice anything different. I did feel that he didn't like those episodes really. I could see that he was not satisfied with his plotlines. Comparing to Season 1, 2 and 3, what he was getting now was crap.

I feel sorry for him. He just lingered on this show for too long a time. He tried his best to act, but his writtings were not so good as before. All the good lines, witty words go to Chole. Lex was just left dumb.

Even from his recent interviews, you could see that he was not the same one as before. He became quieter. He once said he hoped his girlfriend could make him laugh, but recently he said he just wanted her to bear him. He used to show his interest to KK very openly in his interview, but now he said he looked at her as a little sister. I hope he could be happier.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. He also had awesome chemistry with Schneider. But I'm totally not feeling his vibe with KK at all.

I miss MR/TW scenes. For flat out chemistry, no one beats these 2, IMO

Word! Word! Word!

I miss Clark/Lex scenes so much.:( They have such awesome chemistry and yet we never see them together anymore. We just see Lex hanging out with Lana and their interactions just can't compare with Welling and Rosenbaum's awesome chemistry. Lexana scenes always come off as flat and boring most of the time.

I don't blame MR for the flatness in the recent Lexana scenes. I think KK needs to catch on. But from the trailer, she is very passionate kissing him next week.:D

Bah, he sucked. Sorry if it's harsh, but he is so much better than tonight, in this episode needed all the good acting it could. Alisen Down carried that scene between Lilliann and Lex.

There is something off in Michael's acting during Lexana scenes. I can't put my finger on it but there's really something very flat and off in his acting.

I agree. I think he's trying to be smooth, silky, unattached, but coming off kind of well.. flat.

Could it be LANA?

I dunno, I think the fact he straight up LIED about what his mother said to him...that shows he is well on his way to becoming an MB in his own right. I think he was supposed to be apathetic.

he was a little bad acting and flat as u said but this was not a good episode for him. plus did u notice who wrote the episode it was that holly chick didnt she write a crappy episode last time if my memory serves me well.

I can't put this all on the writers. The writing was bad, but great acting can make up for that. God knows MR has done it before. This was just a poor outing for him. I hope he changes it around, b/c if he can't pull off this Lexana bit, then the transformation of Lex good to Lex just plain evil will never fully materialize.

I'm sure that he doesn't need the Lexana angle for the transformation. There's other avenues, better avenues imo.

I do hope that they don't make Lex's switch to be about Lana, though.

Someone mentioned above about Mikey's little crush on KK. Maybe he's trying to hold back so people don't make behind the scenes speculations. (If he makes it too good, we'd all be talking about what might be going on LOL) Unfortunately, it's coming off empty.

Not every scene or moment has to be energized. Who's to say Lex would actually be energized in that situation. Maybe the scene is supposed to be that way, it works better that way.

I completely agree, Clark and Lex's scenes were always great to watch and MR and TW have the best chemistry together. I think
in some ways, the "rift" occured too suddenly and it's left a void in the show especially in regards to Lex's part. Clark and Lex's interactions were always interesting because of the dramatic irony. We knew they would become arch enemies, and they didn't know - it was fascinating to watch MR and TW play with that ambiguity. Lex and Lana's chemistry just doesn't compare to Clex, IMO.
MR's acting is great in scenes with John
Glover but unfortnately I don't remember a good scene between
Lex and Lionel since "Vengeance".

I didn't really see him as being "off" i just thought it was because he didn't care what his mom thought, and had already made his decision. The scene with Lana was normal, in my opinion, and I found his short scene with Chloe really funny. I think I'd have to watch it again to really notice his acting......
