I mean, they showed them fighting and, basically, that guy overpowered Superman! And he's just a normal guy!

(I won't even get into how the needle actually went in....)

But why couldn't Clark just shove him away and send him flying?

Am I missing something?

(Sorry... just realized I spelled 'overpower' wrong...)

The serum was Kryptonite-based. That's the reason Clark was weakened and allowed the med student-guy to inject him.

So, it weakened him so much he became normal.. even though it was in a syringe? But he's been stronger than that before with a rock attached to him.

*Sana thinks for a moment.*

OK, I'm willing to accept this. Much more than I am willing to accept that death made the kryptonite get washed out of his system.

its week..but its always been that way..the slightest bit of kryptonite makes him uneasy so it would have been easy for lance to inject him

Eh, this show's never been good at keeping it real. Best I can say is... in that episode where the cheerleaders made kryptonite-spiked Gatorade or whatever it was, and Clark drank it, he also didn't die - he felt horrible for awhile and then it like magically purged through his sweat or something. I imagine if the syringe had been full of pure liquid kryptonite, he'd have been toast, but since it was just a serum containing kryptonite as an element, his body was (magically) able to purge it by dying.

I prefer to think JK saved Clark when he told Clark he had to go back and "pushed" him, like he "pushed" Clarks spirit/soul back into its body.

You know, this whole talk of dying and purging kryptonite from the body got me thinking of Family Guy from a few weeks back... "...when people die, they void their bowels." So if getting stuck with the serum actually causes the body to die... you get the idea. Except that there was no indication that any of the characters voided their bowels =P
