I dunno maybe I'm being stupid myself but Clark really didn't seem very smart in this episode. Just his reactions to things.

Stupid is too strong of a word...naive is better.

Why he just couldn't say 'Mom, I need to talk to you for just a few minutes. It's REALLY important.' I'll never know.

I think it's weird how Clark never really saves the day anymore. It always seems to be Chloe saving the day and in this episode it was Chloe and Lana.

He saved the day in Cyborg

Clark was being a little slow, but I think it's because he's dealing with a lot right now... breakup with Lana... Lionel (which is just creepy!)...

I think it was mentioned that he would not have big or dramatic parts the epi before his Directorial Debut and epi after? HE was the one VOID this epi!:\

Yeah! Naive!...That's more like it. He's still a farm boy with protective parents...err..parent now. I'd like to know when Clark will go back to the FOS and get that continued training that abruptly stopped by Chloe showing up as a popcicle! When's THAT gonna take place? No one will accuse him of being stupid then!

He stupid because he is still relying on someone else to do investigation part of the show. When is he gonna start doing things on his own without relying on someone else to do thing for him? The writers seem to forget that Clark is not only suppose to be the worlds greatest superhero but the worlds greatest reporter. Not the moron that only good to beat someone up.
Whats up with that lame excuse as to why the krytonite juice didn't kill clark or how clark was able to recover after having all of that Juice in him. The excuse they gave was not good enough. I understand why they did it to let clark know how his dad died and so he could fufill his destiny but it was still lame.

He was very slow in responding to Chloe's clues. About how Lana wants to see the two people that have always loved her...and then Clark has this confused look on his face, and it takes him like a minute to basically say "Of course! Her parents!" Genius.

Chloe has became the undisputed star of season 5 without a doubt. I'm not really happy about that. I have nothing against Chloe. Its just I'd like to see Clark doing things on his own.

Give it time. If he's still playing dumb by the seasons end, we can all write letters to the immensely slow writers and complain, that if we dont get some kryptonian intelligence from CK in season 6 were all boycotting the show.
After all this season wa supposed to be "everything we've waited to see";)

I think it'll all come clear by season's end...and we'll all be happy again (well as many of us as can be pleased with the show anyway)
But I know that I haven't "waited to see" Lexana...in fact I've tried to never see that

i just saw the episode and i think it was a tad weird.
i saw some ppl saying about jor-el maybe talkin to JK...i just think the clarity of death opened his eyes to who clark will ultimatly become...jor el may have been envolved ...its a big leap tho...
over all i dont think this episode was that great ...
but the show is evolving brilliantly and i cant wait to see wot happens wit both the LLs the kryptonian artifical intelligence ...should be a great season finale
I know what you mean, it's like Chloe has all of the brains and he's just the brawn. She seemed to have to keep spelling things out for him more than she did when they were in high school. I don't know how he's ever going to defeat Brainiac at this rate. "Kryptonian intelligence" leaves much to be desired.

Stupider?
How about not really self-aware of his enviroment, or the things surrounding him?
I was watching some S1 episodes and Clark somehow had more depth and a stronger temperament then, even if he whined at times.

I'm not seeing that Clark was any different in this episode.
Chloe is being led around by the nose -- by Lionel. So she's not being particularly astute, either. Clark is his same old, denial denial (more than a river in Egypt, Clark) self -- he wants to think Brainiac is dead, so he's not searching for him, not even thinking about him.
I'll admit, his reflexes are unrealistically slow this season, but how else is he going to be caught off guard the way the writers want?
He seems the same to me. Am I missing something? Do I have my Clark blinders on?
All about Clark

I think if I had just found out that Braniac is back, my focus would be a little off, and not immediately get what was going on with Lana. So I give him some amount of slack.
And yes, Chloe was led by Lionel.
I think the only thing that bothers me, is that he saves fewer these days, and Chloe has more saves these days. In that respect, S5 is different than the others.

I agree that Clark has become too dependent on Chloe. Like when he came up to her when they were taking Lex away and she tells him what Lana has been doing, he askes her How are we going to find her, He is the one with super abilities shouldn't she have been asking him how he was going to find her?
