That was ILL.

Great Line:

Lex: "What blood?"

Lillian: "Of all the people you are going to murder."

That was freakin sick.

That entire scene was ripe with awesomeness. It only would've been better if it was white with sparkly sequins like Michael Jackson... :p

BTW, cool avatar, shadowknight. :D

 Yeah right, Elmo lover. You're probably the one who passed him the sunflower in that field. Then you laughed as the blood rained down and played with the bones. I know it.

as the crazy med student said earlier "damn straight" this episode rocked and i loved the glove. its so sad the way he lied to lana and told her his mom said how proud she was of him. this episode was really powerful, especially that scene

i dont get the glove... is this all some comics thing?

Rafael122
04-06-2006, 07:08 PM
I think the best part of the whole thing is that Lex is screwed either way. He tried to change to avoid going bad, yet he's going to end being bad anyway.

Lex killed O.J.'s wife?

Lex wears the kryptonite ring to keep Supes away, and I'm pretty sure it sort of rots his hand so he wears the glove. At least that's how I understand it, I don't read comics much. :\

Shadowknight
04-06-2006, 07:12 PM
From what I understand, seems the ring gave him "Kryptonite Cancer" Chances are i'm wrong, considering ive never read a Superman comic. :p

thanks i was wondering what it meant exactly. But i am still confused as to why his mom shows it to him while saying the blood "of all the people you're going to murder". Does the glove have something to do with him killing people?

Was that O.J.'s glove? I'm confused!;)

He will wear the glove in the future when he is full out evil. (Like the scene in Hourglass where Cassandra sees his future) He will be responsible for the deaths of many. The glove is just a symbol of his future that is to come.

The glove was excellent reference to prior episodes which were great references to the comics. Lex wears the glove because prolonged exposure to his kryptonite ring gave him cancer.

Thanks for the glove reference. I was unsure what it was.

What's with this glove thing? I knew when I watched that scene that the glove meant something...unless Lex just randomly decided to wear a leather black glove that day. Can? somebody fill me in please?

Shadowknight
04-06-2006, 08:31 PM
Already posted earlier, but Lex's Kryptonite Ring he wears to kill Supes in the future, winds up giving him Kryptonite Cancer.

No the cancer killed him and he died. He wore the glove because he lost his ring finger and eventually replaced his hand with a metal one and wore the glove over that. Anyway he eventually died from the cancer but his brain was kept "alive" and he was cloned. The clone had long red hair and a beard. The world thought the clone was his illigitament (sp?) son who was Australian. Obviously it was Lex's brain in a new body. Eventually Lex LuthorII as he was called lost all of his hair and transistioned into the old Lex Luthor which he is since its just Lex's brain in a different body. HalJordan4184 or Backward Galaxy would know more than I would. Also I may be off on some of this.

attitudejc

but someone else said that he got the cancer and lost his hand, and thats why he wore the glove. or is there more than one way of it happend?

HarkIAmSuperman
04-07-2006, 02:10 PM
basically in a nutshell for those of you who are not familiar with lexs glove...

in the future, lex always wears either a kryptonite ring or a kryptonite bracelet to keep superman away, and because of prolonged exposure to the kryptonite, he gets kryptonite poisoning and loses his and and replaces it with a mechanical one. And he wears a black glove over this new mechanical hand

Just as F-Stop Blues said

RedPhoenix23
04-07-2006, 03:28 PM
But does he really need to cover up his mechanical hand in the future? Wouldn't Lex just use the same technology that was used on Victor Stone AKA Cyborg? That way it would still "look" normal and he wouldn't have to hide it. Unless, he is really wanting to cover up the ring maybe?

Don't get me wrong, I liked it anyways! I am just sayin'.

i love u tom
04-07-2006, 04:15 PM
wow... amazing scene. it was so moving and just like BOOMED out there, no warning. but in that scene you also saw that even lily was a little evil back in the day also.

Uhhh, so why doesn't lana have cancer? How long did she wear her neckless vs. how long luthor wore his ring?

xrayvision

She has necromaternopaternosolophobomortophilolanalangosis , the disease where she needs her dead parents in any way, symptoms include fear of lonliness and attracting death.

I used to always make a big joke about that. Its just another Smallville inconsistency

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I love it!!

Maybe it will turn out that she is some kind of a FotW and we just don't know it yet. Like maybe she has the power to be oblivious to all around her. Oh wait, that's already manifested itself.... ;)

I had to whip out my dvds and watch Lex's sunflower field scene again after the glove in his scene with Lillian. I just love continuity. That was one of the best parts of this episode!
