I'm gonna take a guess here as to what could be a possible Superman mythos reference. It's gonna take place after Clark gets injected with that kryptonite fix Lana is on and goes flat line. Right before he sees' pa kent, they'll be a reference like Hereafter from season 3. This is my guess. Let's see if I'm right

THE BLACK GLOVE!! Lex was wearing it when he flatlined and saw his mother. lex also wore a black glove in the comics.

the Lex/Lillian scene made an entire refrence to Lex's future as one of the world's greatest villians!

This Clark/Pa Kent scene is reminescent of Adventures of Superman #500, when Pa Kent "died' and saw Superman beyond the grave.

i was thinking Jonathan was almost about to say, you are more than a man, you are superman.

The conversation between Jonathan andClark I took as a big reference sine Jonathan pretty much said what we all already know and the same between Lex and his mom and the black glove as well.

hmm another thing which might work to be part of the mythos:
this is the first time we have seen clark travelling this distance at this speed.
this basically opens up the possibilty of world-wide adventures now, all faster than a speeding bullet.

Think he's fast enough now to run on the water like the flash? Other than that I don't see worldwide travel in his future. I hope he can because that would be fantastic.

the black glove mention was nice to see again and the scene with john kent about being a symbol for justice and peace was cool too.

Im suprised JK didnt say "your going to be symbol, of truth, justice and the American way"!

I'm so flipping glad he didn't say that.... i think that would have just made the whole thing cheezy

But still, couldn't get any better Superman reference than what we got in that whole conversation between Clark and JK...That whole sequence was just awesome. I loved it. My heart was racing and palms was all sweaty during it all.

Yea, that's cool. I like those subtle visual references. I'll make sure to look out for this more ofte, b/c I think a similar situation was brought up in Cyborg (with Clark's football jersey).

Umm what about Clark saying he'll never die again. Wait till he meets Doomsday.

that even before in Action comics they used to recycle the themes also in the superman comics i guess that would be a reference and homage to lazy writers of the 1st superman comics.

Superman References in Void:
1) Lillian (to Lex Luthor): You think the path you've chosen isn't going to hurt? It will. More than you can ever imagine. You're not the only one that's going to suffer. A field of beautiful flowers lay barren by an emptiness that can never be filled unless I keep you here. Stay with me, Alexander. Don't let the blood wash away what's left of your soul.
2) Lillian (to Lex Luthor): Of all the people you're going to murder.
3) Jonathan: Yes, you can. This is your destiny, son. You are going to touch the lives of so many people. Not just as a man, but as a symbol. You're a symbol of peace. You're a symbol of justice. And now it's time for you to go.
