Clana has not ended

Thinking about the whole Clana situation, I'm surprised that people actually think that the official breakup of Clark and Lana is going to be an absolute end to the Clana and the angst that always goes with it on the show. Clana have only officially dated twice; at the end of season 2 and during season 5, and yet we've had Clana angst almost throughout the entire run of SV. They weren't officially dating any in season 3 and yet there was a ton of Clana angst in that season and lots of angsty loft scenes. And now the writers have ended Clana in a way that pretty much determines that there will be Clana angst in future episodes. If Clark broke up with Lana because he saw that she wasn't really the one for him and if they parted on mutual terms then that would be okay. But he breaks up with her in order "not to hurt her" and he lies to her about loving her? And now Lana is full of rage and hatred towards Clark and probably going to hook up with his future arch enemy? People, this isn't an end to the Clana angst. It's just been taken to a whole new level.


ETA: I AM NOT A CLANA FAN AND DO NOT ENDORSE CLANA IN ANY WAY. I'M JUST TRYING TO BE REALISTIC ABOUT ALMILES' TRACK RECORD CONCERNING CLANA IN THIS POST.

Dude, I'm not hoping anything about this. I hate Clana with a fiery passion. I'm just being realistic about the whole thing considering TPTBs track record in writing Clana.

......you are in some serious denial if you think its not over for good , no way they are going to be back unless the writers are to stupid to end it already. Smallville in NOT about Lana its not called Lanaville or Lana and Clark: The Early Adventures of Superman its called Smallville. Lana is there since shes in smallville and his childhood friend and first love period.

I wouldn't be watching the show if it was all about lana cause the moaning and groaning of the "I can't trust you if I don't know everything" crap Lana pulls is BS. If Clark ended up with Lana I wouldn't even follow the comic especailly if Lana was like how she is on the show. If everyone but Clark can see the relationship they have isn't perfect then that tells you something.

Also if Lana was so pefect he would have told her his secret way before Pete or Chloe found out cause he would know she would accept him even if his parents said not to like with Pete.

I'm sorry, but FOLLOW THE MONEY. The writers and producers aren't here to weave an amazing tale of early Superman lore. They are here to capture their key demographic.

B/C you have TW in the cast you keep the 16-24 girls. B/C the story is about Superman you get SOME of the supes loyal (those that don't think this show is a mockery).

WHERE is the MALE 16-24 draw? Cute girls. I.e. Lana. She is going to need episode time. Whether it be with Lex (that won't last or really materialize fully) or angst with Clark (will stick around until the show ends next year or the year after).

You are clueless if you don't see these points. 'Nuff said.

I've always thought Lexana was just more Clana in a new form. They'll find new ways to create angst between Clark and Lana until the series is over.

i agree with you mbcorp but for me i like clana. the whole angst part i can't stand but im thinking if lana finds out clark's secret than there would be no more secrets and lies between them. Also Almiles arent really known for thier continuality, they forget about lots of things that have happened on the show, like the charecters that have died off they pretty much forget about all in all. i want the romantic clana to end on a good note possibly in the 6th season where the feeling is mutual that they cant be together.

I agree with Alice this is not the end of Clana. We will still have the angst of it, and Lexana will just add more fuel to the fire. All AlMiles did was stop the romantic side, but now we have to get to the friendship portion. It's not over yet.

Once again the writers have managed to reset Clana so they can continue the one thing I can not stand about Smallville.
I'm so sick of this totally stagnant relationship. The tension that used to be between Clark and Lana regarding their relationship and Clarks secret has been completely played out.
I would have been satisfied if Clark had the stones to just tell Lana that he loved her but he doesn't want to have sex yet.
That's really what all this drama is about. They have to keep Clark a virgin.
He doesn't have to tell her about his powers.
He can have a relationship with her and they can eventually grow appart.
But instead every scenen they are in togethwer has to have this lame tension ad-nauseum.
There's so much cool stuff going on now, Clana isn't one of them.
