I didn't think this was a bad episode. In fact, I thought it was pretty good. I love the way the Clana relationship ended and loved the Lex/Fine interactions.

I hated the way Clana ended! I just wish TPTB would have written the break up a little better, he didn't have to hurt Lana that way. And I agree with Mrs Lana Kent....Clark was a big jerk last night!

I don't think the episode sucked, though it had some problems. I don't think the Clana relationship was ruined, just ended. I believe they'll be friends again, down the road. I don't like the Lexana, but the writers are bound and determined, so its inevitable. And most important, I don't think Clark was a jerk at all. I think he did what he had to do once his mind was made up not to tell Lana the secret.

Of course they'll be friends down the roads. They're friends in the comics and the movies. This episode definetely established that Lexana will happen at some point in the future.

He knew as long as Lana was around, he would be hurting her. Thats why he needed to hurt her and just get it over with. Telling her he doesn't love her anymore was the only way to make her understand he didn't want to be with her. Obviously we all know the real reason, but he can't tell her that. This way he feels he's protecting her.

I didn't think this episode was bad. I liked that Brainiac is back, and I love to see Lex being the bad guy.:) I felt sorry for Lana that her relationship with Clark is over, but I totally know that it has to be for his story to continue.

Clana is a ruin by its very nature. Lana is a self centered girl who wants a guy to worship her no matter what she does to him. SHe's treated Clark horribly for five years and he should have told her to bug off long ago. SHe cuts him no slack and is not at all supportive of Clark. WHy would he even consider her a friend much less dating material is a mystery.

THis fear of hurting her or someone else harming her is ridiculous. IThat's what we all risk when we love someone whether we're superpowered or not. If she's the strong woman he used to claim then she could take it. The events of Reckoning made no sense either; let's face it. Clark could have found a way to save her if he'd really thought it through. The real truth is, Lana isn't the accepting girl they retconned her into being in Reckoning (and five years of show canon made that clear) and she really isn't the one for him and deep down, Clark has always known it. It's just that we keep having this nonsense shoved down our throats instead of giving us real plot and stories with substnce.

As for Lana in the comics? As unpleasant as it gets. Coming onto Clark while he's hurt and his wife is injured and in the hospital? Now that's nasty.

Clana is senseless and should have been over long, long ago. It's past time Clark grew up.

I was really enjoying this season until now. Not every episode can be great, but damn....did they have to write such a pile of crap? Worst episode since "unsafe". You always know when the writers have no new ideas when you see pathetic sex scenes and ridiculous plot lines. Some of you "kids" out there might love an episode like this. Hell, I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have little kids in my house. Not something I would let them watch. The one upside to this ep...no more CLana, but I have thought that to be the case before. Just my opinion.

Why should Lana cut Clark some slack. He leaves her hanging like a bad election chad. For whatever reason after each bad Clana moment, there was usually a need for Clark to say I'm sorry. A smarter girl would have stayed away by season 2. He could have let her down easy, "I'll always love you, but it's never going to work, and we both know that" would have been hurtful but not full blown ass####. Chloe needs to thump Clark with THE rock and knock some brains into that stupid, stupid, yes I said stupid boy. Yeah, I was a shipper, too.

One of the reason clark splits up with Clana is shown at the Start

'Johnathan Kent'

i think in a part of his mind Clark blames himself and Lana a bit for his fathers death.

another thing i was major p'd about this episode that no one has noticed

NO LOINEL LUTHOR :(

Clark needed to be a "jerk" to Lana cause she had it coming after ll her BS and beating around the bush. Look at how Clark felt when Lana was with Jason and the other meteor freaks , the guy saves her from death and she does the trust issue crap. Now that the tables are turned it was great to see Lana get droped like a rock , and then showing her true colors at Lex's. Clark is hopefully free now and starts dating other people or takes a break from dating for a while since hes not one to have a rebound girl.

Everything about it was just plain awful and lame. They've reached the point where they have nothing better to do than repeat themselves.
