Did anyone else almost feel like the whole breakup scene with Lana was unemotional? His eyes looked blank to me. And when he was talking to his mother, he said it was hard for him to say. I got the impression he DIDN'T love her anymore...

I think he used a blank expression to convince Lana that he didn't love her anymore. As for me, I could see the pain in his eyes...

I think he was trying to convince Lana he didn't love her, and I think he was partly in shock...

I agree, he was just stunned by what he found himself "forced" to say. Of course, he did not have to do that to Lana. This whole ep left a bad taste to me. Martha says, "...what if Lana isn't the one?" But Farm Boy has loved Lana all this time, I still think in his mind she is the one, but if all the breakup is to do is to protect her, then he can never be with anyone as he'd face the same thing. A better explanation to Lana as to why he felt he could not be fully open with her is preferable; and under Simone's spell, while he expressed concern that he might hurt her if they did it, he was a willing slave to her (I kind of think they did it despite what he said to Chloe). Lana got hurt, really hurt and it was real, not hurt under a spell. At this point the BDA doesn't deserve her anyway.

And did anyone else think about Chris talking to Margot in S1 when Supes says to Lois, "I never lie..." and think think our Farm Boy could never clean the red boots of this TRUE superhero.

These actions are making me feel disgust for FB (and hey, Tom, don't worry, it ain';t you, love the acting, love the show, hate the writers, I guess...).

When are we going to see a true superhero come out of Smallville???

Anybody notice that Lana's line "I need you to look me in the eyes and tell me you don't love me." is the same thing that she said to Jason back in "Unsafe" which also had Clark being raped by a blonde.
