View Full Version : Today is a great example of why I love Chloe so much.

She's so selfless. She loves Clark but she knows how much he cares for Lana. She could have easily told Lana about Simone, setting her up for heartache, but it would have hurt Lana which in turn would have hurt Clark. Chloe tried to fix the problem and tried to keep Clana together even though I know it was tearing her apart. She's always looking out for Clark (even when he doesn't deserve it). She's amazing.

This is why Clark should give Chloe a chance, shes loyal and always looks out for his best interest. Thats what Lana never does and yet hes blind to her true colors until now where he finally ended it, but Chloe should not be used as a rebound girl cause thats just wrong and shes to good for that.

do you think they were foreshadowing when martha told clark that maybe he didn't tell lana his secret because maybe she wasn't "the one"? chloe knows his secretttt does that mean she's the one?? :D:D
Well we know lois is..but can't they give her a chance? lol

i mentioned that in another thread, and people pointed out that he didn't really TELL Chloe. she kinda found out on her own. he only willingly told Lana.

OMG that would rock. I love the thought of a jealous Clark pining after Chloe.

I think Chloe is the epitome of what a best friend should be. Maybe that's all she is... the "best friend" - that could work for me. But, on the other hand - not ALL of Smallville is a total mimic of the comic books. So, maybe Chloe is the new "Lois" and Lois might have some other role...
Thoughts?

I agree that Chloe is a lot like the traditional Lois. But Clark will still wind up with Lois in the end. Chloe will probably either not become a reporter after all, or move to another city. I can't see both her and Lois working with Clark at the Daily Planet at the same time.

It's a little sad when people get kudos for not taking advantage of a friend's dilemma with his girlfriend. Are we so cynical that we expect people to betray a friend for personal gain? Don't get me wrong -- Clark is definitely lucky to have Chloe in his life. But, she was doing what any decent friend should do in that situation -- give honest, common-sense advice that's in the best interest of the person or people with the problem.

I like Chloe because she's the smartest person on the show. Plus she's the only character that's ever really showed any true growth or development.

Chloe is one of the worst people Clark could have chosen as a friend.
It would probably have been better if he chose Lionel.

I never expected Chloe to do anything other than what she did. But no one hardly gives her any props so I did.

That would be sweet. You are so right, Smallville is really not all like the comic books. I think that's the problem alot of viewers have with it. I'm cool though. :D

First of all you might want to hold your toungue before these people team up and delete your butt
Second of all that wasn't her fault...she accidently got those powers while trying to find out answers about her dad's sudden blacklist incodent and before you even mention it....she couldn't help wanting to find out clarks secret because that was one of the sideaffects and she was even more tempted by clark's inability to be honest with her even after the fact that she had always been honest with him and don't even try to prove me wrong cause theres whole lot more people on here that will vouge for most of what i just typed.

It is also stated in the companion book for that season that the truth serum also affected Chloe and made her act that way. Not to mention the fact that after it was over she was totally embarassed and worked hard to regain everyone's trust.

I'm so scared
She didn't respect Clark's privacy.
That was pretty shameful.Considering all that clark hasdone for her you would think it would be the least she could do for him.
Topdeck I have a life so i don't go around reading companion books.Sorry.:\

I love how everyone is so very quick to point out any faults in Chloe, a human being, but what about Lana's constant need to find out clark's secret? She is always yelling honesty honesty honesty, so if she were to get that truth serum in her dont you think she would immediately ask Clark all his secrets? We are also missing that fact that people are perfect and shouldnt be portrayed as such and Chloe(at that time) and Lana have no clue to how big of a secret Clark was keeping.

Chloe is no different than Lana, Clark, or Lex in this regard. Lana constantly demands the truth from those in her life, and snaps when someone hides something from her. Lex had Clark investigated and got his hands on Martha's medical files after her illness in "Fever". Clark has stuck his nose into the private lives of Lex, Lana, and Chloe on multiple occassions. Everyone on this show has been hypocritical at one point or another when it comes to hiding the truth. All the characters seem to get livid when someone isn't up front with them, yet they don't practice the habit of being up front themselves.
To Chloe's credit, I think she learned to be less pushy when it comes to Clark's private life. She never completely dropped her interest, but in season 4 she took a more subtle approach to trying to get Clark to confide in her by dropping hints that she knew his secret after Alicia outed him. That's probably the best anyone could hope for from any of the characters on this show, because all of them have a certain degree of nosiness about the people in their lives.
BeldarofRemulak: People point out Lana's faults all the time. She's one of the most criticized characters on these forums. The only time there's a double standard is when fans of one character have that character criticized and then bring up the fact that another character could be criticized for the same behavior. This thread is a prime example.

That is why I said " We are also missing that fact that people are perfect and shouldnt be portrayed as such and Chloe(at that time) and Lana have no clue to how big of a secret Clark was keeping" I wasnt so much as critizing as I was pointing out that this argument is constantly brought up and can be brought up with someone else as well. Just as you brought in other people to argure the same thing.

Possibly my favorite scene in this episode was Chloe telling Clark to think carefully about breaking up with Lana. AM really nailed that scene (no suprise) and the writers really nailed the dialogue. Anyone who thinks Chloe is not being written as a good friend to Lana just needs to look at that scene. I thought it was very well done.

I like Chloe but I don't view her as the messiah that many make her out to be. She has adjusted well to knowing about Clark, but her character cannot be compared to anyone on this show who doesn't know about Clark's secret, this includes Lana. The knowledge that Chloe has is something that has made her a better person. Before she had that knowledge, she was just as crazy as Lana, perhaps even worse because she actually tried to get the answers on Clark by herself, whereas Lana just wanted Clark to tell her.

thats a very good point. so basically, the only person that we can compare her to is Martha.

Chloe is really what Pete should have been after "Duplicity". She actually talks to Clark about his problems and gives advice, in addition to being the sidekick. Pete was just the sidekick and funnyman who complained about being dragged along with Clark for investigations. Part of me thinks the writers learned from their mistakes with Pete and corrected them with Chloe to make that sidekick/confidant role more important.

I love Chloe...best character on the show. Her witty one liners and her continued friendship with Clark are some of the best aspects of Smallville....I would like to see the writers tease us with a possible relationship between the two! I think Chloe would be the perfect person for Clark to settle for until he ends up with Lois!

If Chloe and Clark hook up, or at least hints at a possible relationship are made, it will be the end of the Chloe/Clark friendship. The romance will be shortlived and they will be left without a friendship, at least without a friendship that is even close to what it is now. And I'll make this statement as well, I know that a lot of you love Chloe, but this is Smallville and no character remains likeable for very long. Chances are Chloe is going to make some mistakes down the road and if her feelings for Clark begin to resurface, she might even return somewhat to the way she was before she learned Clark's secret. This is just my opinion, however. You have to realize that TPTB never leave things the same for very long.

i have always thought this too. the way Clark and Lana are written, they either are stagnant most of the time, or they keep going backwards.
whereas Chloe has always seemed to move forward in her development. even her hairstyle has changed, compared to everyone else!
you would think more can be done with long hair but her short hair style has shown the most dynamic changes. she is even hot when she is lying on a hospital bed without make-up and styled hair.
