At the very least BIlingual. I would think that they'd know tons of languages, espeically Brainiac who is a supercomputer. I have an old Windows 98 and my computer knows like twenty languages so he probably knows like a million :p

Very true. I'm sure Brainiac knows all the languages of the world.

Not just the world. I bet he can even make up languages or use the ones spoken on shows like Klingon.

Don't you mean trilingual. As he could speak Kryptonese and English already.

without being a computer, even canon Clark/Superman knows many languages. it involves how fast they can read/learn. i'm not surprised at all to see Brainiac talking in other languages.
they touched briefly on Clark's mental powers, but they never fully explored it or mentioned that he's an Ace student, etc.

that is also true...
I am kind of disappointed that they never did go into Clark as a student. Kryptonians are suppose to be sharp, acute mental abilities, and learn pretty damn rapidly.

I really don't think that Kryptonians are bi- or trilingual, but they're superior learning skill makes it possible for them to learn anything, including languages.

Blame it on public schooling.

Hey, we have Chloe who went through that same public school system, and she's way smarter than Clark. ;)
Kryptonians have photographic memories. It takes very little effort on their part to learn something. Languages are easy, as is any type of book learning like math or the sciences. Too bad they enver touch on this with Clark.

if you remember, they teased us about Clark's intelligence in season one, episode Cool (5th episode...) when we learned that he could count really fast. Than, he became the Big Dumb Alien... A bit sad as far as character developpement, if you ask me!

Given that my native language is spanish, I want to congratulate James Marsters for his perfect spanish; you can't even notice the American accent.

Not to nitpick (okay, kinda :p) I never really liked calling it Krypton-ese. "ese" is used for Chinese, Japanese, and so on. The language for Krypton would be "Kryptonian," since that's what the culture is always referred to.

It always bugged me that Chloe has to do all of Clark's thinking for him. Clark is supposed to be the future superman...eventually he will have to figure things out on his own.
What I liked about Dean Cain's Clark was that he was very intelligent.
But the Clark of SV? I don't know. Hopefully, next season, we'll see Clark (as well as Lex) getting smarter.

look at it this way the clark of sv is on his way to becoming dean caine's clark. He has to learn it to do it in the future remember he's only a teen now, he doesn't necesarily know he wants to go into journalism. Chloe is his way in once he picks up on it enough he'll do it himself.
