Kingdom Hearts 2

I did a search but didn't find any topics dedicated to KH2. Forgive me if it has one and I just didn't find it. I'm sure the mods will do there jobs and get rid of this if it's a duplicate.

So, who all bought this game? It came out today and it *is* awesome. I'm about 10+ hours into it and loving it.

So, for those that have the game, how far into it are you, what world, and what do you think of it so far?

I'm just exiting Disney Castle for the first time. As I said, I love it. Dual-wielding during Drive Mode RAWKS. The "triggers" rock too. They make battles a bit less hop/jump/hit/repeat, but still leave the open-ended fighting method in-tact.

I bought the game, but will have to wait for a new PS2, since apparently it doesnt work for 360 (jk). Please tell me that Chicken Little and Lilo and Stitch don't have worlds and are summons.

If someone would kindly spoil the end, I'd appreciate it.

Haven't made it to the end, so I can't spoil it. Yes, Lilo and Chicken Little are both only summons. Pretty useless summons. ;)

I won't play this game, but my brother has been playing it and i watch him.

2 words that wrap up the entire game: "Finny fun." I almost died. i had to leave right after that.

That is one world, and it's the silliest thing in the entire game. There's a lot of really good in the game, don't base a judgement on the silliest little thing.

As soon as I get my PS2 fixed or buy a new one. I will get this game, looks so awesome, I loved the first one.

lol. I won't play it because i didn't like the first KH, and this one didn't look much more appealing. I am not very good at those kind of games. But that Finny Fun, just sent me over the edge.

I like watching my brither play it sometimes though. I liek to see how the incorporate all the disney movies.

Ah, I was wondering when KH2 was going to come out (I know it's been out in Japan for a while). I loved the first game. I'll have to wait until after exams to buy it ;)

I can't wait to see Captain Jack Sparrow, I was so excited to find out they incorporated PotC in the game :D

Pirates of the Carribean was pretty cool. I especially liked the Tron level!

But when I get the game, I doubt I'll be using the Summons much...

The summons....leave something (a lot) to be desired. Genie is okay, but the rest are just horrible. The drive forms and limit commands more than make up for this though.

Exactly...why leave the hard work and experience to summons that are going to dissapear anyway to the actual heroes of the game, who should be able to pwn any Heartless!

KH2 doesnt hold a candle to KH1 period.

That said KH2 is a decent game. 7.5/10

It surpasses KH1 in every way, IMHO.

KH2 - 9/10

KH1 - 8.5/10

Just dont' drop your PS2 with the game still in it like I did. Had to do some covert operations involving renting the game that I won't elaborate on. The secret ending rocks, btw.

I loved this game and I've already heard and sadly forgotten rumors of KH3,sorry guys.

The rumors of KH3 mainly come from the secret ending you can access if you complete certain tasks in KH2. You can find the secret ending on YouTube if you wanna check it out without playing the game. It's pretty strange, but I think KH3 is gonna be cool. Now we just gotta hope the PS3 doesn't bomb as bad as I'm thinking it's going to (that price is ridiculous for most people) so we actually get the game. Maybe they'll switch over to the Wii if it does, though.

Played it, loved it. The combat, camera, and controls are all significantly improved in KH2. The storyline isn't any better than KH1, but I don't think it's any worse, either. The worlds seemed smaller, but there was a lot more to do, especially when it comes to the coliseum.

Overall it's an 9/10 at worst, 10/10 when I'm feeling generous.

27 hours in and I'm on the final boss ...

The game is isanely easy [only died 4 times.. once on the last boss, 3 times on sephiroth ]... could be soo easy because i'm playing on easy mode though ;).

The last boss never seems to end and it's quite annoying because I don't have enough potions or ether's [so i can use curaga] lol.

Yeah, easy mode is, well, easy. ;) Medium isn't super hard, but it's more difficult than easy. The real challenge comes in trying to do all the extras including all of the bonus cups in the Underworld, to get the secret ending.

Ah, but not the same since of satisfaction (and extreme frustration in trying to do all of the mini-games in under so much time). ;)

Seriously, though, do the Underworld cups. The second to last battle in either the last or second to last cup is freaking awesome.

I will when I replay the game on normal and then hard... got a few games to complete first though. Why I tried to finish kh2 as quickly as I could [I had a 7 hour marathon on it yesterday and a 6 hour one before that...]

I agree. But I give it a 5/10. The game was entirely too easy and I beat it on proud mode. I expected a whole lot more out of it. I hate that it retconned the first game. I don't know if I'll play through it again. I didn't die a single time. If I don't die at least once, then obviously the game isn't hard enough.

What exactly do you think it retconned on the first game? It may have added some new elements to the story that we didn't know about, but it didn't change anything already established, as far as I know.

I still hold fast to the fact that the final boss from the first game was Ansem. Not Christopher Lee. That was retconned in the second game.

Heh, whatever floats your boat. It was left completely open, so I don't see how it's a retcon. It's standard video-game sequel procedure, really. Standard sequel procedure period, actually. Something that is left open is added to give the sequel flavor. I think the International versions help set it up better, though. And Chain of Memories tied them together so if you didn't play that one all the way through it might seem more retconish.

Depends on your tolerance for the battle system. It was actually quite good both when you got into the more intense battles and once you got more info on The Organization.

I thought the Final Mixes were only available in Japan. Are they bringing them to the US? If so, that would be great.

Haven't finished the first KH- I'm stuck in Hollow Bastion. I've beaten the second one 4 times, though. It is easier to play.
