Wouldn't it be cool if they had a Smallville video game? If they did, how would it be like? Would there be multiple players? Post your ideas here!
Mod note: please at least vaguely attempt to spell, capitalize and punctuate correctly. Thank you.

well if they did, they'd have a never ending list of baddies to use for the game... Fire Guy, Bug Guy, Magnet Guy, Ice Guy, Wax Guy, it's like Mega Man... but gayer.

I would get the game! They should make a game for each season like the season 3 game you get to play as Clark on red-K in Metropolis! That would be so cool! I hope they do make a video game, but it probably won't happen.

Here's my proposed storyline if there's a game:
There's been a breakout at Belle Reve and all of the FOTWs that Clark's faced in the past have been unleashed. Now it's Clark job to round all of them up. After Clark defeats each freak, he gets a piece of paper from them that reveals a clue to who's the mastermind behind the plot. The clue takes him to locations liks Summerholt and the Daily Planet where he battles so of the Big Bad's cronies.

Sounds cool but I think there should also be other challenges like save Lana from the twister and also help Lex track down
Morgan Edge and stuff like that. then also be able to use things like heat vision, super hearing, super speed, etc.
But the meteor freak thing sounds very cool!!!
heyzalle
03-28-2006, 11:55 AM
Great ideas, they could do both. So you can play out actual Smallville storylines, and all the way through you also have to round up escaped meteor freaks. Although they'd have to start from season 2 and use only season 1 meteor freaks.
I don't see how it could be multiplayer, unless you could play as one of the FotWs or Clark. Playing as one of the other main cast members wouldn't be very interesting - Lana's level 6 challenge: buy a pink dress. :p

If they want to make it a multiplayer game they could do something like Mortal Kombat. You and another player can play as any freak you want and you verse each other.
LionelLuthor
03-28-2006, 02:49 PM
Throughout the game you should change characters, so you start off as Clark but can later play as Lex, Chloe, Lionel and Professor Fine. Even Shelby!!!
So it's like a dark side/light side affair- and it all ties together in the end.
The game should cover all seasons and be huuuuge! The end boss should be Zod.
UpandAtom
03-28-2006, 02:51 PM
I don't like that idea. What could you do as Chloe or Lex?
i love u tom
03-28-2006, 03:03 PM
well as chloe you can sort of do the whole spiderman game thing (i meant the reporter part, not actually being spiderman), where she has to go do missions at the daily planet, or help clark out at times. for lex... he can really juss have missions where he needs to capture another FOTW and really juss thinking up ways to make clark mad :p lol but seriously this is a really good idea building up! :D

I would want a 'Sim-Smalville' where you could do stuff in his loft (like play video games 'Red' or throw bails of hay around). You could make your own 'loft scenes', even do stuff in the Talon...run back and forth from Metropolis to Smallville real fast, check out the 'back 40'! They had that map off the SV Ledger site, you could go to those mills and warehouses, visit the Luthor Corp. plants and do some espionage, go to Crater Lake...fly up somewhere and take the buss back from Colorado Springs!!!

Well it's not smallville but superman returns the video game ; is coming out on the 28th of June and Ill be the first one rushing into the store to get it :p. From the images I've seen and what I've read the game is going to be awesome!!!. For more info google it. The game is going to be outrageous
Here's the specs of the game:
Inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures feature film and more than 60 years of DC Comics’ lore, Superman Returns™: The Videogame will create the ultimate open-world super hero experience.
As the Man of Steel™, you’ll hone your unworldly super powers such as Flight, X-Ray Vision, Heat Vision, Super Hearing, Super Strength, Super Speed, and Super Breath to fight villains that only Superman™ can defeat. Explore your super powers to discover new uses and combinations: use Heat Vision to melt a rogue car or as a focused laser-like beam to cut through thick metal; use Super Breath to move heavy objects or freeze villains into solid ice. You can also combine powers and interact with your environment; for instance, freeze water spouting from a broken fire hydrant into a giant icicle with your Super Breath and use your Super Strength to hurl it at an enemy.
Get ready to take flight, as Superman Returns’ revolutionary new mechanics allow you to take full command of your aerial maneuvers. You’re not limited to flying over 800 mph (faster than a speeding bullet™) — you can also corral your enemies, perform stunning in-air acrobatics, instigate Super Speed missile-like attacks, and much more.
In Superman Returns: The Videogame, you explore and protect the truly living city of Metropolis — one that is not only expansive (with 80 sq miles and over 9,000 buildings), but also changes dynamically with you as you affect gameplay. Citizens will run away in terror from newly-erupting danger and also exit their cars to cheer and snap photos as you fly overhead to save them.
Superman may be invincible, but Metropolis is not. Player choice matters, as Metropolis’ destruction will affect your ability to progress. You must face the internal conflict facing Superman at every turn: will you pause your pursuit of super villains to stop a massive tornado sweeping through the city and save its civilians? Every decision made is critical to Metropolis’ existence and can affect the collateral damage meter, which ultimately keeps the player in the game.
This is not just another movie-based game. This is the Superman game you’ve always wanted to play. Utilizing more than 60 years of rich history, Superman Returns: The Videogame is the ultimate Superman experience for players.

Smallville has to get 24-like ratings for the WB to issue a game. Right now Smallville's audience is only 6 million. They need to know that the game can appeal to a higher audience.

Personally, I think that at the beginning, there should be an prelude on Earth with the meteor shower, like you're playing as Jonathan, and you have to collect a number of tools to hide Clark and the ship.
You could also gain money or experience or health by saving people in the prelude like, get them out of a nearly collasped house, and etc.

Make it like grand theft auto, where if you dont want to play a mission, you can just go around smallville and use clark's powers.
As for the missions, most of them would be going around beating FOTWs. Though there should be a various story arcs in the missions.
Unfortunatly, the time where this would have been possible has passed. The optimum time for releasing such a game would have been when the show was really popular in the second or third season. even if they started now, I doubt that they could have it out by next year.

I was just wondering what it would be like if someone made a Smallville video game i think it would be pretty cool to be ably to play Clark through the game as you go through it you have to do certain things to get your powers or learn it if whoever decides to make it one day which i hope someone will they should make it real exciting, long, and not to easy to beat it in one day, am sure they will one day if they came up with a good storyline for it and some good grapics. What do you'll think?

Actually an RPG game would be awesome IMO. It would be like Smallville, starting with no superpowers and as you progress to higher levels, you gain more power and more abilities. The scenario can be a mystery pretty much like the mystery on the cave walls, with a lot of tasks, like finding the stones, creating the FoS, becoming Superman...

It was a school project that i did a couple of years ago, i made a Smallville board game. Ive ONLY allowed about 5 people (3 people didnt like/didnt watch the show and 2 of them did) I played the game with them each seperately and they ALL loved it. They want me to send it to the WB, or now known as the CW, im going to do it. Hopefully one day it will be in stores!! :)

If they make a Smallville game it should be like grand theft auto or the warriors. Where if you dont want to do missions then you can just wander around the town using your powers.
Tey should start now though. Otherwise they might not have it out in time for the shows finale.
I know it's been talked about many times before. But how FUN would it be? How much material do they have to work with? tons!

I posted a while back that they should have a Smallville SIMS game where you can control the lives of the SV characters. I wouldn't buy it since I don't care about those kinds of games, but there is a large market of people that do like them and would probably buy the game.
I must say that it would be cool being TPTB in the SIMSville (or whatever the title would be) universe.

I dont think there is any posibilities on this, cause it would have been out by now, but i would have loved a Smallville game.
It would have been nice, like someone said, if it was an open world, and I really dont like RPG that much, but I like the gaining new powers as the game progreses. With cool misions including fighting FOTW no minions and those small enemie just powerfull bosses and underbosses (The cool ones like the fire profesor, the insect dude or the magnetism guy and of course avoid lame ones, like the girl that eate body fat or the most recent static fotw) and now with Zod and the Zoners we got some cool video game potencial enemies. And like in GTA3 once you finished all the misions in Smallville (the battle with Nam ek and Aethyr being the last in the Smallville section) the path to Metropolis opens up, with new and more difucult misions, till finally getting rid of all the Zoners is the last mision. No flying of course, just superspeed stregt and then as the game progresess, you gain, x ray, heat vision, etc. the superspeed can work like the "Focus" in the Matrix games or in Fable (the slow time surround magic) where you dont actually move faster but everything around you slows down to a near stop.
I dunno I like playing with a superhero dressed in normal clothes, I remember in spiderman 1 at the begining, or witht the bonus functions you got to play dressed like Peter Parker and I dont know I kind of liked that.
I know the Alias game didnt make it big, and the series had more ratings than SV but if the game is done properly, not only Smallville fans would play it, Im not a Jaws fan but I loved the game.

Yeah, I think a Smallville game would be cool, whether it was for the PC or for some other console.
I think it would be a lot different than Superman games because for one, you wouldn't be in Metropolis the whole time, you'd be in Smallville, and you wouldn't wear the Superman suit. You'd also follow Smallville plots and instead of movie plots.

I think it would be awesome if they made a game based on Smallville built like Knights of the Old Republic II. Have the personal decisions that you have to make in order to become a super hero or super villian. I also beleive that in that game you could gain and lose influence with other characters, that would be cool for those who really are into a certain relationship pairing. You would also have an "upgrade" system when you level up much like the progression of Clarks powers in the show.

They could make it like Grand Theft Auto, without the theft. It could be soooo sweet! Just rome around smallville investigating this or that until you find yourself in the middle of a mission. It would be another excuse for me to be glued to the (insert gaming console here) for most of my natural life.
The storyline could be that there is an outbreak in 33.1, and Clark has to kill all the freaks before they destroy the earth.

KOTOR II has the worst game ending I have ever seen. The first one was a masterpiece nj003 but the sequel flushed all that down the toilet with the most obvious last minute cobbled together ending that has ever graced a video game. I also don't see how that games structure could work with Smallville. I mean do you roam around town with say Chloe and Lana talking to villagers? A Canis Canem Edit approach would be better in my opinion.

Smallville needs a video game but it'd have to be done by a company who'd do justice to the game. Maybe Activision would do a good job seeing as they've made great progress with the Marvel games. Also, if a Smallville game were to be made it'd have to be after the series ends. I'd like for the story to focus mostly on the series & you have to work with the powers you currently have until you gain more powers later on in the game. They should also make it where the player would actually be able to control Clark's superspeed so players won't go crashing into buildings. I'd also like to be able to superjump as Clark. All in all, if Activision got the rights to do a Smallville game & assembled the team that made the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction video game, only good could come of it.

If the creators of a game were true to Smallville:
1. Without the flight, the game wouldn't do well, running everywhere would not be very exciting.
2. He only tosses people around, so no punches. (yawn)

speak for your self! I think super-speed is freaking awesome! and they could make it so that when clark is running at super speed, you have make sure he doesn't run into things. and everytime clark does run into something, the nearest person to him learns his secret, so then you have to super-tap that person in the head so they get knocked unconsious and forget what just happened. :D

I'd love to see this happen;
You start off the mission, you do a small part of it, which leads you into the main plot then BOOM. The intro to Smallville plays (you can skip it lol, it'd get a bit boring for some.... Not me though haha)
As for the ships... Hmmm... Maybe you could go with Lana.... Then to spite her stupid character you could go and have a fling with Chloe, then Lois?
Then Shelby?

If I were to decide how it'd go, I'd have it be a mixture of a genuine 3rd person (from behind the back) Fighter battles, along with exploration (from 3rd person perspective) adventure elements where you can explore the town of Smallville, the farm, and even some of Metropolis (enough to be able to go to the Daily Planet and LuthorCorp) while getting to interact with other characters in story conversations. Basically loosely base it off the first 5 seasons and season 6 premier while keeping it fairly accurate. Also, there'd be "obstacle courses" that deviate from the Fighter battles and Adventure exploring whereas Clark or someone else, you'd have to pull off a very difficult task through button mashing or something; such as saving Lana from the tornadoes, rescuing Perry White from his gorge jump, Clark stopping Gabriel's nuclear rocket, among other things. Lastly, perhaps come up with a 2-player Fighter mode where you can battle against a friend as Clark, Super Lex, or one of the many meteor freaks or Krypton escaped beings.
More elements to keep the game-play interesting, perhaps add a small RPG element of leveling Clark up through each battle and obstacle course; depending on the difficulty level he'd either level up a great deal, or just a fairly small amount. There could also be cut-scenes developed, perhaps entirely computer generated, or just taken in clips from the show. This is basically how I'd like to see the story mode go:
*Cut-Scene: A meteor shower devastates the Kansas town of Smallville while a lone spaceship crashes not too far from a skidding truck. Jonathan and Martha Kent are found by an infant Kal-El, look up into the blue sky, and 12 years quickly pass by.
Chapter 1 - A Destiny Begins
Adventure - Travel as Clark walking around Smallville, being capable of performing superspeed, but risking exposure if doing such for too long. There'd be a yellow dot on a lower left-hand corner map indicating where you ultimately have to go for the upcoming battle or obstacle course. After traveling around Smallville and interacting with Chloe, Pete, and Lana, travel onto the yellow dot (The Bridge).
Obstacle Course: Lex has just run you over with his Porche, you must rescue him by tearing the car roof off before he drowns. Through a combo of button mashing and figuring out where the roof is weakest to be ripped, you don't have a lot of time!
*Cut-Scene: Jonathan has the "talk" with Clark and reveals the ship, Clark in confused rage, runs off.
Chapter 2 - Jeremy's Dark Plot
Adventure - Travel around Smallville at night where you can come upon the cemetery to talk with Lana about her parents' deaths, meet up with Coach Walt at the football team as he punches a student out (but explains his way out of it), and ultimately make it to the yellow dot at the school where you run into Jeremy trying to sabotage the sprinkler system. Clark's first true battle is at hand.
Battle: Clark Vs. Jeremy, defeat Jeremy and is limited electric abilities so that he can't kill the majority of students in the gym.
*Cut-Scene: Clark is dreaming of flying around the entire town of Smallville and eventually into the bedroom of Lana, but soon finds himself waking up to his Mother's call that they gotta leave for the Market. Clark yells down that he'll run there.
Chapter 3 - Whitney Needs Help
Adventure - Travel around Smallville, where you'll find you can enter Lex's mansion now and have a talk with him about how he survived the accident. Afterwards, go on to the Farmer's Market where you'll get to talk with Lana and Lex once more, but also Jonathan in private about the flying experience. Eventually, move on to the yellow dot in the dirt road where you'll find Whitney's truck turned over.
Obstacle Course: Get through Whitney's passanger-side door and pull him out of the truck and escape enough distance that the full explosion won't engulf ya' in time.
*Cut-Scene: Doing chores with Jonathan in the barn, Clark is suddenly attacked by Greg Arkin, a meteor infected once best friend who fears Clark's after Lana. Knowing Greg's gone off the deep end, Clark runs off to find him before he finds Lana.
Chapter 4 - Bug Boy Arkin
Battle: Clark arriving at the old treehouse he and Greg would play at when kids, confronts Greg. The two battle it out with the battle area being big enough to go into the Creek Foundry where many meteor rocks threaten Clark's health. All Greg has are high jumps and a a spider-web attack with his mouth, win it fast and quick.
*Cut-Scene: While jogging at the Smallville High football stadium, Clark has his very first experience with X-Ray Vision. Incidentally, he accidentally sees the cheerleaders smoking cigarettes behind the school. Confused, Clark quickly leaves.
Chapter 5 - Concur Walt's Flames
Adventure - Go around Smallville where you interact with the Kents at the farm, Lana in town about quitting the squad because of their smoking, and Lex about being framed for a bank robbery. Eventually through means of the yellow dot, you find yourself at the school where you hear Chloe calling for help.
Obstacle Course: You have to use your X-Ray Vision a few times in the school to locate where exactly Chloe's at. Once you can, meteor-freak Coach Walt'll hear your approach and stop the fire. With Chloe having evidence on him, he's quickly fired and arrested.
I could come up with much much more, but I think you guys get the point.
God no. Like every other licensed game it'd be awful. Why make the franchise suffer?

It's not a workable idea really. Smallville dosen't have a big enough following for a game to start off with and the superman fans would rather get a decent Superman game I think.
The town of smallville would be a boring place to explore. Farm, farm, farm, smaller farm, coffee shop, farm, farm Luthor Mansion. The relationship part of Smallville would also be boring in game form and when you think about it. The relationships in this show take up almost all of the screentime.
Let's be honest, 9 out of 10 of the guest stars on the show are terrible (I mean the characters not the actors). I'd much rather play a game where I get to fight Darkseid or Bizarro.

i would love a smallville video game (for pc) ive always wanted a decent superman game for pc would luv it .
It would be cool if they do it first person view when superspeeding and then clark's brain impulses superspeeding like when they slow down time and see it from his view. It would be like normally you just see yourself superspeed really fast or you hit a button and change the point of view from superspeeding fast in third person view to superspeeding slow in first person view sort of like the matrix but of course you'd be running much faster than in a matrix game. It would also be cool to get powers as you progress along just like the show beginning with only strength, speed, and partial invincibility eventually getting more powers and getting stronger in each one. Plus you get to pick the range of power in your attacks like strength, heat vision, super breath, Superclapping, so you can fight full strength against villains like Brainiac and at weaker levels to fight weaker less powered villains so you don't kill them each time you fight. then after completing each level you get a cutscene from the smallville storyline and then back to another level. Eventually progressing and having stronger villians until finally you reach the final level and you get to fly and face zod (not continuing like smallville season 5 and 6, just until the end of season 5). There would be a GTA type of free world so you can superspeed and fly and stuff. But hey maybe thats too much to put in a game but hey whatever id be happy to play whatever game that comes out for Smallville as long as they make a ps2 version. I hate it when they say "X BOX 360" Exclusive or Nintendo Wii Exlcusive or some crap like that. they should make it on all platforms including PC except the game boy ds because you know it will look like crap.

Not that I dont like the idea its just that I dont believe that any dev. can make a good smallville game at the moment.
1. because most of em know nothing about the show or superman
2. if its EA were doomed
3.Not enough money to be made, buffy had a much bigger fanbase then SV
4.Superboy infrigement rights stuff , the game would resemble too much like superboy.
Those are just a few of the reasons y it sohuldnt be made.
But I believe tha the next superman game is going to be awesome , they already made a huge city (but with nothing in it) for the Superman returns game. Im hoping that for the next game itll have more depth and playable as Clark (going to the Daily PLanet, super-speeding to smallville) for example.
I dont get y they didnt follow Smallville's idea of Superspeed where everything slows down, that would be fuc***g crazy in a Superman game. That kinda of stuff is coming with the new game "Time shift" , they should implement something like that.

i'd like it, and there are a couple of ways it could be done. it could be an action/adventure game with the obvious route of you playing clark. it could be done with the online community style where you create your character, and then decide what you wanted to be. you could be a meteor freak and cause damage, you could be an up-and-comer in the luthor corp heirarchy trying to topple lex, you could be a reporter trying to research meteor freaks, you could even be a simple farmer trying to make a buck. basically a sims type game. i'd pay to play either.

I enjoyed the Buffy games. You got to play as all your favorite characters and they had good storylines. They were made from episodes that never got to production. Although I would want it to be less linear. You'd have to be able to run around Smallville and parts of Metropolis. Maybe be able to do the famous jump from the Daily Planet.

I wanted to know if they had any plan's in the future to make a Smallville video game like let's say they made one for PS2 for each season make a video game and call it different like for season 1 the game be called Smallville The Begining Of Clark and then like number 2 be called something different. I been dying to play a game like this I want them to make it for all the systems espically the Wii it will be fun where you control Clark and his life and get clips from the show and like play through the video game. It would boost the money for Smallville way high and it would rock!! I want them to make the game for PS2, PS3, X - BOX 360, The Wii, Game Boy Advance, PSP and so on so forth of the systems I own. Who agrees with me on making a Smallville video game?

The problem I'd see with the game is that Smallville, while it's got action, it's more drama and stuff. This season alone was one of the worst soap operish type seasons. There's some cool action every now and then, but most of the time it's Clark giving the bad guys a one, two, and we're done type deal. I could see an RPG, but I think it would get boring. Now, if they do a good Justice League Heroes game, the first one stunk, they should get Tom to do the voice acting for Superman.

I think its a bad idea because with games based on movies and tv shows they always take such a half-assed approach to those games not that some aren't fun because some are a blast, but for a Smallville type game it would have to be much more emense then a 10 hour action packed ride.
Having said that I think if it was done it could be a really fun addictive game but it would have to be a cross between Final Fantasy and Ultimate Spiderman. It have to be a long game with missions and a gripping story(possibly even starting the story before clark even knows he has any powers well before the show started) where you level up, work with friends, some that will betray you some that will die, and level up to the big climax of the game where you would do the final mission as Superman.
And after the game is done be able to fly around the city fighting crime kinda like spiderman. But we know that would never happen but its kinda fun to dream.

oh come on those images are really good but they could be better and anyway ive started to draw the characters and costumes and most of all their abilities and how theyll be use and by the way this game will have and exculsive game for the xbox 360 elite and it will also be on ps3 and nintendo wii and by the way kal el will have unlockable telekenisis, telekenetic and astral projection meaning teleportaion and flying with his arms behind like neo from the matrix and 5 different costumes and the abilities will look exactly like the ones on the show and youll be able to go inside and walk around inside the fortress by the way it will be a dark fortress and amazing kryptonian words spining around the ice and ahologramic jor el and by the way you will have to break a kryptonian code to acces kalel programmed if you want to use throught out the game and you will also fly or run to the kant farm and clarks pad in metropolis and walk around the daily planet and youll definetly fight thiefs, super powered thiefs, aliens and mutants and it will be exactly like spiderman 3 and it will be better than spidey 3 supes return

I would love to see a real Superman game from the birth of krypton to the theoretical Kindom Come. Though I know that any game relating to superheros always sucks and that they would do the same to Smallville.
As someone stated it would have to be free rome and I would like to see a Knights of the Old Republic stile, chose your own path. Granted you could stray from the Superman myths and become evil, but it would give the game such diversity that it would be worth it. Also, if you were able to chose your own path, it could be done in an interesting way wear you would, for example, realize that you are on a parallel universe the exact opposite of earth. Granted this is just a quick, off the top of my head example, but with some thought put into it you could really have something to interest the fans.
The major problem with super hero games is the lack of interest in the character. If you are gonna make a game about such a character you need to be a real fan and not just some game producer. I could go on but I am already getting pissed about the lack of good super hero games.

Here's my list of ideas for a game.
1. set in Smallville's future
2. free roaming GTA style
3. using Smallville cast for the voices
4. option to play as Superman or Clark Kent and having all of
powers (maybe even some journalism missions as Clark)
5. option to unlock and play as other characters
6. be able to travel from Metropolis to Smallville (both cities
modelled after the Smallville versions)
7. ability to lift or destroy anything (not just a few random things
like in EA's Superman Returns ps2 version)
8. ability to enter buildings
And last but not least...
ATTENTION EA
Have the game actually completed before releasing it. The PS2 version of Superman Returns had the potential to be the best Superman game ever. But it was obviously rushed and unfinished. The game has several different islands, but no bridges connecting them. Mr. Mxysptlk even shows up at one point to introduce a mission. Mxy's intro is included, but the mission is not. WTH!!!

It would be an incredibly hard game to make, as there's no structure for game developers to follow, as smallville runs in episodes.
The only logical thing to do would be to do the smae thing like they did in the spiderman 2 game, free roam and speak to civials to to tasks and get something like hero points, in which the more you get of them, then the more levels you will gain.
But then like boss battles with the occasional meteor freak lol.

I really hate to bring up grand theft auto on a forum for for family show, but if anyone has played grad theft auto, a smallville game set up the same way would be amazing. You could start out with free roam of smallville, and you would get missions from Chloe. You could also get phone calls about people in trouble that you need to save. After you complete your first set of missions, the storyline progresses to metropolis and you get free roam over both towns with missions that overlap both. Missions will continue to come through Chloe at the DP and from anyone else with knows his secret in the game (Lana, Martha, JL, Kara, etc.) A cameo by Pete is a must.

I think it would be the true to the way the show works in addition to being a proven style of gameplay.

Yeh I know exactly the kind of game style you mean nj003.
I agree that the GTA set up would suit the Smallville atmosphere very well. However a game were to exist some day then it must focus very much on free roaming, as when players would want to run at super sonic speeds then what's the point in basing the game in a tiny town if we only end up running at high speeds for 2 seconds before you hit the barrier that ends the graphic environment.
And the idea of going to Chloe to get missions is great, as that happens in the show anyway, you could find her at the Daily planet or the Torch and she will give you something to do.
But despite it's possible potential, I don't think it should be made, as superhero games tend to be a very slippery development, very few games about superheroes actually make it be average at best, not to mention that smallville is a continuing show, which would make a story plot hard to exist.
nj003
11-25-2007, 03:56 PM
I think this has the potential to be a great game, as long as it was given enough attention. As for your concern about using superspeed, I don't think that running as a blur is the way to go, but rather the game (and in-game clock) freeze and you continue at normal speed (with run and walk, if Bart were in the game, he would seem to have a third gear that Clark doesn't have when in SS mode).

There was a another thread like that! And I did put some nice suggestion like the FOTW and Zod as last boss, no flight, and to learn how to use the powers! would be amazing, making your own story with different questions, should I tell Lana? Chloe? and the Justice mission would be so amazing? Like an X-Men game, but u can only use one, and you would switch! Hahaaa

As I said in the other video game thread, the only accurate way to reflect this shows theme in a video game would be to make it a dating sim. I don't know about you but Clark's adventures in trying to get laid and being rail roaded into clana doesn't sound like a fun game to me.

I find this very funny, but do disagree. I think they could make it more open, like a grand theft auto, only with morals. Clark could go about his daily life, until something happens, then you could do the missions, but in between do what you want, like play with your powers, or even date Lana. I actually think that could be fun. Somehow make a date, a mission, in which you have to hide your secret while helping people.

Smallville would be a perfect platform for a video game. If made, besides playing as Clark, player's should also be able to play as chracter's from the JLA and Kara. The video game should feature elements from all Smallville seasons by having Clark, and other JLA chracters battle Meteor freaks, Phatom-Zoners, evil Kryptonians(Zod, Zor-El), Braniac and Luther Corp Security guards at Level 33.1 facilities. It would be awesome if the actors were able to voice there chracters in the game. If made, i wonder video game developer would make it, and when would it be avaliable. I hope it come's out during the show's airing because it attract fans from the video game base to watch Smallville, which depending on the outcome of the WGA strike, would enable Smallville to air it's intended 8th, and possibly last season.

That sounds basically what the game should be like. Base it off of season 6. I can see it now:

Really? I thought it was about Clark handing his balls over to Lana, and repeatedly trying to get out of his responsibilities as a powered entity, often using the Lana card. I think perhaps you are watching a different show. I'm watching the show where Clark Kent is a farmer with no ambition beyond eating Lana's blueberry pancakes and occasionally trying to fix a tractor he doesn't need anyway. What's the show your watching like?

Ok you guys have probably heard this before but if us fans talk about it alot then it might just happen, so lets get the word around till those studio guys hear it.
In the game your obviously Clark who comes to terms with his emerging superpowers, but that's not all our small town hero has to face. The trails his biological father has set out for him from finding the key to putting it in the wall to destroying his ship to running wild in metropolis to being sucked in to the cave wall and coming back reprogrammed as KAL-EL to having to start jor-el's crusade of finding the three crystals of power to going to the fortress to start his training to having to stop brainiac and zod to having to put all the phantoms back to the zone to fighting bizzaro to doing missions for oliver queen and the JL. All this whilst doing your chores. Heck, you can even do side missions playing as chloe trying to hack stuff, going round as jimmy taking snapshots of stuff or being lex and experimenting on meteor freaks! :rotfl:
Its all there the story is all there just waiting to be turned into a game that millions would love to play. Its not everyday you can control and take part in your favourite hero's life.
Some reason WB are holding on tightly to the rights to smallville. It would be good for a smallville game to come out maybe after season 8 when its all over (:(). It would have to be a huge game trying to incorporate all 8 seasons, just try and get the good bits in, slash some of the 'freak of the week' in season 1 stuff. As long as its not rushed and turned into a terrible game like loads of movie tie-ins it should be an awesome game.
Sounds pretty cool huh it would have to be a huge platform game but with all the advancements in games it could and should be done. Start your votes people. Who else thinks there should be a SMALLVILLE GAME???

I just can't imagine how a Smallville game could possibly be good. Not only is the subject matter focused in a large part on drama and relationships, which doesn't translate well to games, but there has almost never been a TV or Movie based video game that was any better than mediocre, IMO.

I see where your coming from, but you might have to sacrifice the relationship bits for just 'raw action' :rotfl:. Playing as clark doing his challenges etc, flying and beating up people would be good. As long as the key elements are good, like graphics etc and they havent been rushed it should work. Also, there have been previous superman games, most like you said were mediocre so learning from their mistakes and just getting their positives in would be good.

I would love to see a smallville game but i hightly dought we will ever see one. And to make it good it would have to have a big amount of money put into it and i dont think the show is that popular that it would get enough sales. Look at the superman games, they cant even get them right.
Sounds like a great idea. It should be an adventure/action RPG, where Clark not only defeats freak of the weeks (and more powerful foes later on, like Isobel/Lana, escaped Phantoms, Zod, etc.), but also gathers clues with the aid of his X-ray vision and Chloe's journalistic skills.
thats a great idea, i was thinking the same thing. I like the idea of it being a role playing type of game, where you need to gather clues and information to get further in the game. Would be fun.

I was sorting through my video games today and realised how much potential there is for a Smallville game. It could be anything, from a retread of some of the seasons as Clark (perhaps with options to play as different characters) or dealing with the Justice League's missions against 33.1.
Would you like to see a Smallville video game?

I would like to see a Smallville video game, but it depends on what system it's on. I'd rather it be on a console like the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, or Playstation 3 than a handheld because the graphics would look way better on that and seeing as how Smallville exceeds with graphics on television why not in a game?
And the gameplay and storyline as well. Personally, I'd prefer a Grand Theft Auto-esque type of game for Smallville, so that you could juggle between the missions that Clark does to save people and his life at the farm and with other characters.
But that's how I feel it should be.

I can't imagine a good Smallville game. Ok, I take that back, I guess I could. Clark should be the main character, but just like in the beginning of Smallville, his character should not have all his abilities or be up to full strength yet.
He should face Freaks of the Week have Lex doing dastardly thing and at the same time stumble over clues to his Kryptonian heritage.
When he needs info or answers, he'd have to get back to Chloe and her computers; advice, Martha or Jonathan; hisses about secreths and lithes, Lana.
Higher levels would bring in the guest stars (aka Justice League).
It could be a great game, but I still am afraid that instead it just would be the Quest for Lana (Lex having locked her in a Kryptonite Tower)

It would be redundant like the show.
On the first level, Clark super speeds his way to the end to rescue Lana. He saves her from a tornado only to be told, "We're sorry Clark but this is not the real Lana. The real Lana is currently dating Whitney."
Second level, Clark gains some new abilities, goes through the level and defeats the baddie to rescue Lana. Once again he is told, "We're sorry Clark but this is not the real Lana. The real Lana is currently mad at you for not telling her your secret. In fact, we will warp you to the Fourth Level because she will still be mad at you at the end of level three."
Level Four: Same thing at the end, "We're sorry Clark but this is not the real Lana. The real Lana is currently the witch in the next level who is dating your HS football coach."
The point of this game would be to never find the real Lana but to instead get so mad you make the game fly out the window way before Clark ever learns how. Kind of like the first Super Mario Bros.

So? I'll use this example: You play a Batman game, you want to play as Batman. Maybe Robin could be playable later, but the game would HAVE to revolve around the main character of the series. Same goes for Smallville and Clark Kent. Though I can only think of a few villians that would be fun to fight: Witch Lana, Brainiac, Titan, and Bizzaro. Kind of short for a good videogame.
Look at The Matrix games. Enter the Matrix pissed people off because they wanted to play as Neo, not some random resistance soldiers. This is why Path of Neo faired much better.
I'd rather finally have a decent Superman game than one purely based on Smallville.

This has come up a few times before, but I've always said that if they do it, the game should be based on a Grand Theft Auto platform. A free roam world where you do missions for people. Most of your missions would come from Chloe. But early in the game, you could get some from Lex. Then he can turn, and you can do some for Lionel, or Dr. Swann, etc. Chloe could be found at school working on The Torch for the first half of the game and at the DP for the second half. You could also get the Justice League guys to do some voices for some team missions too.
Someone once suggested that super speed wouldn’t work in a game because in a 2 second burst, you would hit the edge of the pixilated world, but to avoid this, you could just have super speed play as if time stopped or slowed down for everyone except Clark, Kara, and Bart.

I could see that being good. If it followed the story behind the series they would have to also offer other missions or something like with in the Justice and Doom storyline.
Yeah the Superman Returns video game was a real let down. It had potential but didn't turn out well. It seemed to me like it was a rough draft version of a game that could have been great.

If so, they had an open world freeroam from the town of smallville(including the inside of Luthor mansion, talon, and key areas) to the city of metropolis(including the inside of the daily planet) equivalent to GTA:SA. The flight ability should only be unlockable towards the end of the game.

Smallville videogame? Well the main character shouldn't be Clark or Game Over will appear on the screen regularly....:p

That's a great idea and its a game I would definitely buy. If so, they had an open world freeroam from the town of smallville(including the inside of Luthor mansion, talon, and key areas) to the city of metropolis(including the inside of the daily planet) equivalent to GTA:SA. The flight ability should only be unlockable towards the end of the game.
Or they could make a cheat code for flying for lazy people like me who take forever to win unlockable stuff on games

THATS A SICK IDEA!! it would have to be a huge game starting in season 1 or from when he lands and have him gaining more and more powers as the game goes on. and by the end it would be cool if he could fly...
just a WAY bigger and better version of Superman Returns but with an actual story line and not just blowing up robots and monsters all the time!!!
could be good, if it was developed properly. they'd have to start now and keep developing till the series is done to have it out in 2 years.
WOULD BE SOOOOO SICK. LETS HOPE

This is so totally awesome! That would be great to create a game that could be for more of our generation and more to come. An idea- Create the game starting from events in Season 1 and go to the end od Season 7 or 8 whenever it comes up again. And on Amazon, theres already customer images of Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season. Its gray, black, and white if no one already knew. Clark and Kara are on the front. And the "THE COMPLETE SEVENTH SEASON" is really hard to read, but you know its there. Two news sections in one day, again AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

dno if any of u have seen this but it was made years ago for a video game
http://www.sturkwurk.com/bozo/pro/pro21.htm
my idea would be going through the game starting with superspeed, fast (dash style off incredibles, except it doesnt run out) and slow motion, also running normal speed for in public.
as the game goes further on u wud unlock more powers and do missions now and again for the JL. Also it would be free roam, so no jst opening up a map finding metropolis and pressing a button and going straight there cos that wud be lame, so making your own way to places, and beating meteor freaks then, getting trapped in the Phantom zone and having to find a way out. Then battling zod.
I think this game would have to be made in a couple of years time for it to be to its full potential, once all the seasons were finished, that would make it better.

if they were to make smallville as a game, which would be totally awesome!
here are the characters i think should be available
and what i think should be added.
CHARACTERS:
Main
-Clark
-Justice league: Ollie, Black canary, and so on with the rest of them including the vigilante.
-Kara
-Definatly no brainiac, he is a villain.
-maybe lara and Jor-el(explanation later)?
Supporting
-Chloe Sullivan( Episodes like her in siren running away from black canary or goons chasing after her)
-Lana( Her in forever or crisis; lanas main points in the smallville series)
-Lionel( Same thing as lana and chloe with the main points in the story.
Martha, Jonathan, Jason, Pete, etc.
Now the game should span the whole smallville series, connecting episodes with similar main points.
They can also add in extra scenes that went on between the teagues that went on during season 4 (Theories section/ the teagues http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87942)
What I was saying earlier about lara and Jor-el, they could add what happened before Kal-el came to earth. Why is earth such an important role with krypton? Why was there a civil war with zod?
This game will be great!

If I was Clark in the Smallville Video game, then I know what I would do, unlock all Clark's powers and use Ice/Super Breath or Heat Vision and Kill all the civilians, then he would be Ultraman in the Comics rather than the Hero Superman, that would be pretty funny :p lol

The Superman Returns Game sucked... And that's hard for me to say as a Superman fan because I think we buy these games hoping for THE GAME. The definitive Superman game everything is compared against, and it just didn't have it. Like someone else said, it felt more like a beta.
The fighting system just sucked, oooh different color coding systems for different attacks, yay! I can match colors with buttons, whoooo! How should I hit this next guy? Fly into him and ram him repeatedly OR charge [insert power here] for the uber version. Yikes. It had the open city, it had the graphics, it had the fun side challenges (races, bizarro mode) which was a real improvement on the Supes VG formula we've seen so far. But the storyline, combat system, and overall challenge just was not there.
And to be honest, the fact Superman couldn't fly into space just sucked too. And all the really cool things from the movie you're hoping to do (like catch a plane or lift a continent) are just cutscenes...
Yeah I have Superman Video Game issues.
I think SV would be okay as a videogame because SV is limited and so are Superman games (so far). Clark is weaker now and kryptonite is a standard in SV, so I think there are good challenges for a video game. So I think the game mechanics could work well. Have the game start off with Season 1 Clark and have him progress through an abbreviated version of the storyline to progress to Season 8 Clark. The progressing of levels would be progression of years, with Clark mastering all his powers and to the end being able to fly.
There are several keys that would make this a success in my eyes:
- Introducing challenging badguys that don't feel repetative. Please god NO repetative badguys!
- Introduce the powers progressively and subtley into the storyline (possible tutorials voiced by Jonathan, later on Martha, then Chloe?)
- A good combat system (You can't really use the standard SV combat system, all Clark does is shove people into stuff!)
- A form of slowmo time is a must for Smallville
- A well written overall plot that isn't like 8 short lvls. I don't like shelling out $ only to be able to beat the game in 3 hours
- Actually allow the videogame Clark to do the really cool things we've seen on the show (like how he stopped the nuke, battle Titan and Bizarro, fly as Kal (as a teaser for all those wanna be flyboys out there, only to have that joy harshly yanked away until the end of Chapter/Season 7) and uniting the crystals without the lackluster storyline behind it)
- Have Clark lose his powers based on Green K exposure and eventual poisoning, leading to the character collapsing AKA Game Over.
- Have Allison Mack cameo as Chloe

i agree with most of the things u say. they definately need to make it a long and huge game. being able to visit metroplolis. make it so his powers get stronger (can run faster as time goes on) as the game goes on. make the sun charge him! tons of stuff they would have to take into consideration to make a the game successful!!! BUT AN AMAZING IDEA IF ITS DONE PROPERLY!.
my idea is to put a huge team of smallville fans together put em in a room watch smallville seasons for weeks, make notes on what should be in it (characters, scenes, villians) and wrote out a basic plot line and what should be included. then it should be submitted and sent to EA or whatever to create the sickest SUPERMAN GAME EVER!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:):):):):):):):): rotfl:
