Not sure if this has been posted yet, but:
The new CW Network, which will start broadcasting in the fall, has signed five new affiliates. They are:
* WBNX-TV Cleveland, OH, owned by Winston Broadcasting Network.
* WKCF-TV Orlando, FL, owned by EMMIS Communications.
* WJZY-TV Charlotte, NC, owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc.
* WBKI-TV Louisville, KY, owned by Cascade Broadcasting Group, LLC.
* WMWB-TV South Bend, IN, owned by Weigel Broadcasting Company.
These stations are in the 16th, 20th, 27th, 50th and 87th largest markets in the country, respectively, and represent 4.32% of total U.S. TV households. WBNX-Cleveland, WKCF-Orlando, WBKI-Louisville and WMWB-South Bend are currently affiliated with The WB; WJZY-Charlotte is currently affiliated with UPN.
This is good for Smallville, right? And do you know if they will be signing more stations?

I'm sure the move to the CW will be good for Smallville. The key is to get the small markets to pick up the network. I live in New York and the WB11 is probably one of the biggest markets for The CW. But you need those small markets which initially only carried UPN to get involved. I thought I read that 97 percent of the country is going to get The CW. That has to be just as much as the other networks.

You must live close to the city to get the wb11 and upn9. It's going to be on channel 11 and they are still going to keep channel 9, although I don't know what they are going to have on it.
Here's my question though. The Yankees are on upn and the Mets are on the WB. Am I to assume that the mets will now be on the CW and the Yankees will stay on whatever channel 9 ends up being?

Well, it takes care of my area. Makes me wonder what UPN is going to become.

I just hope that I get it where I live, which is in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee, but the station is out of Paducah, Ky!
The WB where I live is WDKA 49. With the info saying 97% of the U.S. would have it, should guarantee it, but there's always that chance. It is supposed to cover more of the country.

ya im top half of NJ and we get NY when southern NJ gets Philly channels. Yankees will probably wind up being on FOX cause some of the daytime shows on UPN are the same as some of the shows on FOX. Maybe both will be the CW but one will be like CW drama and the other will be CW comedy. and whatever is not drama or comedy will be split or something.

Well from what I've heard, channel 9 is going to become an orphan station. All of the shows from UPN are going over to the CW, comedies and dramas. Maybe whatever Channel 9 does become will keep the shows that the CW leaves behind, but it doesn't matter to me because the only thing that I watch on UPN is the Yankees, that is when they are not on the YES Network.

I live in the NY metro area and from what i heard the WB11 will become the CW and because UPN 9 is owned by Fox it will become that new "my television" network that fox is gonna have...where two telenovelas will be on 5 days a week in the 8-10 prime time block...
