I actually had to buy the dvd set. I had missed a couple episodes due to my travelling. I finally got to hear Tom Welling's commentary track on Red and Rosetta. That's because in my older DVD player, I had to cycle through the audio options to find that specific track. It was like finding an easter egg.
I sat down a couple months ago, and started watching every episode starting with dvd #1. I have a better sense of continuity now, and character development. And a bigger appreciation for how the show, actors and effects have improved. I especially got an appreciation for the cinamatography.

I missed about 70% of Season 1; 50% of Season 2; 20% of Season 3; and another 70% of Season 4.
I had to buy the Seasons on DVD as well, the first just becasue I love Superman, but I got hooked and bought the 2nd and was first in the store when 3 and four came out.
So far I have not missed an episode of Season 5, but of course...I'll still buy the DVD set. :)

Really? Here in Utah, there are only $25...I don't think it's the most popular show in this area...maybe more in Salt Lake, but not in the cities outside of it.
How much are they for you guys?

I buy mine off amazon.com for about $20 each.

But I guess $20 adds up...especially for something you want as opposed to something you need.
Now that I think about it...they are too expensive...but I'll keep buying them anyway.

Well, given that you get FIVE dvd's, with 320 minutes of movie-quality programming, extras and commentaries vs $19.95 for a single movie dvd, I'd say it's an excellent deal.

In the UK they're around £45 each new ($75) and about £30 ($52) when they've been out a while.
We get ripped off on prices, so be lucky you get them so cheap!

Ah! That's rediculous...well, at least the show is good. It'd better be at those freakin' UK prices.

In HMV in the UK, I was browsing the Smallville section and found the complete second season for......wait for it............£59.99!!!!
Which equals a massive $104 !
How ridiculous! I got all 4 for £20 which is $34 so not too bad.
Arr well done on watching all of the episodes! I wish that I could go back to the days where in the opening sequence I used to wonder what episodes the clips were from.
Like when Clark gets struck by lightning, I wondered for aaaages what episode that was from and then I bought the season 1 dvd and discovered that it was 'Leech' one of my fave season 1 episodes.

Yay, ever since I bought and watched season 3 on DVD I had seen every episode. The last episode I missed and had to wait for DVD was Memoria. I've seen every epi since on its original airdate. Between my 1-4 on DVD and 5 on tape I have every episode available to watch at any time. :D

Well, actually it's more like SIX discs and 924 minutes depending on which set, plus extras and commentaries. ;)

The dvd's were an exceptional purchase. I do not regret any of them. Sv is one of Tv's most incredible shows.

I have all the season and can't wait for season 5 to come out. I am now watching them over again before it starts back up on March 30th.:D
i got all seasons for 15 euros, dont ask how :)
but they are not best quality, and in my 'end of world' country there is no Smallville on TV... so i am feeling lucky.

Sometimes the local stores will sell Smallvilel 1-3 for about $20 each. I usually pick them up at that time for gifts. So far, I have turned several relatives onto Smallville :-)
Otherwise, Amazon does sometimes have 1-3 for about $30 each sometimes too.
The other trick is, as much as I want to buy when it first comes out, I manage to wait till it goes on sale at least $25-30 rather than the $50 that is usually comes out at . And if you buy from the mall video stores, be prepared to pay probably $60+. Pretty ridiculous but somehow people still buy from there.
I'm still missing a few episodes in S4 though..somehow they just didn't grasp me to go watch them. That's the bad thing about having seen enough of S4 to know the major story arcs without seeing every single episode or footage of some episodes.

I'm watching all the episodes before the season 5 finale is shown in england. I have 60 days left to watch 82 more episodes. Oh dear.

The only episode that I have ever missed was Cyborg because I was in Disney World. It really stinks so I'm gonna buy the DVD set as soon as it comes out. Of course even though I never missed an episode before I still own the first 4 seasons on DVD. YAY ME!!! :D

WHOLEY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just spent $173 to buy all of the seasons (about $41 each season) and some of you found them for $20 each?! AGHHH!!!! now i feel ripped off. *cries*
Anyways.... I have seen every episode from season 1 to season 4. first discovered smallville in about january/februrary of this year. Watched them all on DVD over a 2 month period. had to rent them from the library and borrow them from a friend. I have to wait to see season 5 until it comes out on dvd. *sigh* ah well, I will live....maybe.
