Pairing: Clana
Timeline: This is a future fic, that takes place five years after Season 5, Clark and Lana are married and Lana is 2 months pregnant.
Summary: Lana trips down the stairs and takes a blow to her head......causing her to lose her memory.

Let's get this show on the road...........


Clark glanced at his watch. Where was Lana?

He turned around and X-rayed his house. Yep, there she was. He smirked.

He could see Lana putting on an endless coat of lipstick, smacking her lips every now and then. He grinned, then went into the house.

"We're going to check-up on the baby Lana, not a formal dance." Clark smirked as he walked up to Lana, wrapping his arms around her waist.

Lana jumped up, startled, and lipstick smeared onto her cheek. She pushed Clark playfully.

"Look what you've done Clark!" she grinned, as Clark kissed her neck lightly.

Lana rolled her eyes at him. "C'mon, is sex all you think about Clark?" she smirked at her husband as she loosened from his grip and skipped out of the house.

Clark sighed, then muttered to himself, "No. You are all I think Lana." , as he raced to the truck, arriving there just in time as Lana got in.

He started up the car, and they drove out of the driveway.

"Clark?" Lana asked.

"Mmm-hmm?"

"Do you think I'll be a good mother?"

Lana's question surprised Clark so much he nearly crashed into the car nearby.

"What makes you ask that?" he said, startled.

"I...I thought....I thought maybe- what if the child doesn't like me?"

Clark shook his head. "Lana, the baby's related to me, so there's ultimate proof that he'll like you. And have you forgotten how good you were with Evan?"

Lana smiled, then turned to Clark. "Thanks." she grinned, and kissed Clark on the cheek.

Clark grinned, then kissed lana back. Except this one was longer. And more passionite. So passionite in fact,.........

Lana could feel Clark's lips rub against hers, and she wasn't complaining. Suddenly, she could hear a huge THUMP against the side of the car. Her eyes grew wide as a truck's side swung at the car and....... "CLARK!!!!" Lana yelled, just as Clark's eyes just opened from their passsionite kiss and just as their car plummeted over the side of the road and onto the cold, hard, cenment of the empty freeway below them.

Like the married interaction between them. A bit confused though. You said to expect Lana tripping & hitting her head & losing her memory - but we got a bad car crash instead - :confused: I'm worried about the baby in either case - will he/she survive? Will Lana be injured badly in the wreck?

The freeway passerbys watched the car plummet onto the freeway with a THUD! And only a few saw a man in a red plaid shirt rush out of the car, uninjured, without a scratch, and in the blink of an eye, grab a figure from the car, and race off with it in the direction of the hospital. Of course, the people who saw this thought they were getting too much sun, or were getting too stressed out. BUt I think you know who the man and figure were, don' you? Yeah, I thought so.

Smallville Medical (in the blink of an eye later)

Clark raced to the front desk, a bleeding Lana in his arms.
He didn't remember what he said to the lady at the front desk, but he remembered the crushing, end-of-the-world feeling he had had at that moment.

The next thing he knew, Lana was on a strecher and doctors were hurrying her to the surgery room.

Clark kept walking up and down in the waiting room, pacing, nervous, scared, guilty.

Clark's TDTP(Thoughts During This Point)

It's all my fault. My fault. If I had been paying attention to the road, this would never be happening. Is she going to die? Please god, don't let her die. And the baby? Is it dead? Would I be killing TWO lives? Please god, don't let Lana or the baby die!

(end of TDTP)

Clark didn't notice he was crying like mad, and he didn't care that anyone was watching or staring at him, he just wanted Lana to be all right.

2 hours later

Clark was the only one in the waiting room left, the lady at the front desk had gone to get some gum.

The whole room was quiet, until Clark heard a faint tick-tick-tick of heels on the tile floor.

He looked up.

A woman in a blue doctor's coat and a clipboard under her right arm approached Clark.

"Your wife, Lana Lang is......fine. She's healthy, and the baby is fine too." the woman smiled.

Clark grinned. "That's great. Can I see her?"

The woman's smile faded. "Erm, Clark...." she started," When the car crashed, Lana hit her head. Hard."

Clark looked confused. "What does that mean, Doctor?"

The doctor looked around the room, anywhere except Clarks gaze. "It means Lana....Lana has lost her memory."

Clark's heart thudded in his chest, and all his good feelings drained away from him.

"We don't know the last thing she remembered, we're still doing some tests. She's healthy though, and so is the baby." the woman continued, "You can stay, the tests will only take another 5 minutes or so."

Clark slowly walked over to his seat in the waiting room, feeling like a brick wall of kyptonite had just smashed into him.

Lana's Room

Lana Lang couldn't help but stare at the man who was asking her questions. Why was she here? Who was he?

"So, what's your name?" the man asked.

"Lana Elizabath Lang." she replied, bored and confused.

"What year is it?" the man asked again.

" The year 2000." she sighed.

The man's eyebrows raised, then he asked her another one, "What's the last thing you remember?"

These questions are SO stupid, Lana thought to herself, as she answered:

But she couldn't answer. She didn't know why.
"what's wrong with you?" she asked herself,"What was the last thing you did?"

She tried to think back. Was it when Clark proposed to her? Or was it when she said hello to Alicia? Or could it be when she was kidnapped by Emily. Suddenly, she realized her memories didn't make sense.

How could Clark propose to her? She was only in high school! Wait- Clark? Who was he? And who was Alicia? Why did she remember her? And WHEN did she get kidnapped by Emily?

There was this huge, big, black gap in her memory that she couldn't make out. Names flooded through her head. Chloe, Peter, Lex, Lionel, Nell, Martha, Emily, Alicia, Greg, Evan, Clark.......but some of them she couldn't remember. She knew Chloe and Peter and Nell, but who were all the other names? One name though, rang out like a big brass bell: Clark.

She mouthed the word. Clark. Feelings rushed up, but it was like she couldn't grasp any of them. She tried to remember about him....anything. One word stuck out in her mind: Heartbreak. Was he her ex-boyfriend? Who WAS he?

Another uppie! (and one step closer to Forum Regular!) :)

Lana just stared as she heard a man enter her room. He looked familiar, but why? she thought.

The man walked up to her, and awkward silence filled the room.

She tried to remember who the man was........who WAS he?

He bent over and kissed her, which shocked Lana. Then, something clicked in her mind.

"You're Whitney, right?" she smiled.

The man's mouth turned into a tight line, and he started to walk out of the room. But, just before he left, he turned to look at Lana.

"I love you Lana." he said, and before Lana could read his expression he was out of the door.

Lana took that as that he WASN'T Whitney, which made things more confusing for Lana. If she didn't remember him, why had her heart raced he had kissed her moments before. And if he loved her....did she love him back? What her heart feeling love....or was she scared of him?

As she was pondering this out, suddenly, a wave of nausea rose from her stomach, and she found herself racing over ot the sink and puking her guts out. When she was done, she stepped away from the sink, frightened, scared. She was breathing rapidly, as she slowly got into her bed.....what was happening too her?Was she......Lana could barely ponder over the thought as another wave of nausea rushed over her. She raced to the sink again, puking whatever was left in her stomach.

The nausea stopped, which left Lana to ponder the question she dreaded most.........was she pregnant?

Author's note: IF some of you are wondering, YES Lana knew she was pregnant before her memory was shattered. But now, after she hit her head, she can only remember things in bits and fragments, and she thinks it's still 2000, which means she can remember everything that happened before the episode, "Pilot", but she doesn't remember anything after, "Pilot", only bits and fragments. And her memory of Clark is wiped out completely. Oh, and sorry the update's short, I'll try to update later, depends on how many replies I get.

Good point. I guess I never thought of that. Erm......well, this is fanfiction so if I said Lana somehow knows Chloe someway somehow and remember her......would that pass?

Clark aimlessly walked to the parking lot and got into his car, blindly driving. Not thinking anything.

She doesn't remember you, a voice rang out in his head, Lana doesn't remember you.

Clark felt like kryptonite was taped onto his chest as he trudged to his home. He parked the car, and got inside.

He plopped onto the sofa, and pushed a video in the VCR, trying to distract himself.

But it didn't work.

An image appereard that showed lana in her wedding dress, and Clark and Lana kissing at their wedding. You could just barely hear Lana say to clark, "I never want to forget this Clark, and him replying, "I'll make sure you won't have to." You could hear Chloe's voice in the back ground too, " And THAT, my friends, is ture love. Nothing gets in the way of true love. "

Clark smiled at the video, tears rolling down his cheeks. "Well, you were wrong Chloe, he said to himself," Things DO get in the way of ture love.

Here's an update:

Lana lay awake in her hospital bed. The doctor had just visited her. What did the doctor mean, 'you lost your memory'?, Lana asked herself, and why did she call me , 'Mrs. kent'? Whose last name is , 'Kent'?

And she was pregnant. Pregnant. HOW? WHY? She couldn't remember doing IT with anybody, or getting married or even falling in love!

She closed her eyes. "You're dreaming Lana", she told herself, "Just close your eyes and wake up."

But she was too tired, and she quickly drifted off to sleep.....

(Lana's Dream.....It's actually a memory of her and Clark's wedding, but she's dreaming the memory.)

Lana gazed into Clark's eyes as the priest read from the bible.

Priest: We are gathered here today to celebrate this joyous occasion......................do you, Clark Joseph Kent, take Lana Elizabeth Lang, to be your lawfully wedded wife, through sickness and health, through old age and now?

Clark looked into Lana's eyes, and made her heart skip a beat.

Clark: I do.

The priest smiled, then turned to Lana.

Priest: Do you, Lana Elizabeth Lang, take Clark Joseph Kent, to be your lawfully wedded husband, through sickness and health, through old age and now?

Lana grinned at Clark, then said, "I've never been so sure of anything in my life."

The priest nodded, "You may ki-"

But before he could finish the sentence, Clark and lana were already kissing, full of love, passion, and trust.

You could hear a voice from the background, "I'm going to put a stop to this."

But Lana and Clark didn't seem to notice, they were already wrapped up in their love and dreaming about their future.

(End of Dream)

Lana instantly woke up, her eyes wide. If she was married to Clark, then WHY couldn't she remember him? And who was the voice in the background that had said, "I'm going to put a stop to this?"

Lana shook her head. "You're dreaming Lana. It's all a dream." she convinced herself. But deep in her heart, she knew that it was more than a dream.

OK, here's my update, sorry it's short, I'll have a WAY longer one soon:


The doctors talked in hushed voices around the table.

"What do we do with Ms. Lang?" a doctor asked.

"She doesn't have any family," another doctor pointed out.

"She has Mr. Kent, he IS her husband"

"But she doesn't even REMEMBER him!"

"so?"

The doctor sighed, then turned to his other fellow doctors.

"So we don't take her to Mr. Kent, then where DO we take her?"

The answer was quick. "I'll take her in. She remembers me, and we're VERY close friends."

But the answer didn't come from a doctor, it came from the back of the room, from a man who had stumbled into the room by accident.

The doctor looked suspicious. "Are you sure, Lex?"

The man grinned. "Postitive."

The doctor shrugged. "If you are friends then, and she doesn't remember Mr. Kent........well, we'll discuss this tomorrow morning, all right."

The man kept on grinning. "Of course, doctor. I'm sure Lana would LOVE to see me."

OK, here's my update:

The Next Day........

"Doctor, I assure you, Lana is safe with me. In fact, she couldn't be in better hands." Lex smiled.

"I don't know...." the doctor started, "Does she remember you?"

Lex grinned. "Of course."

The doctor scartched his head, then sighed. "Let me show you to Lana's room."

The doctor walked down the hall, Lex close behind. Finally, the doctor stopped at a room.

"Here we are." the doctor said, and opened the door.

Lana looked up. The doctor and a bald man walked into her room. "Lana, someone's here to see you." the doctor said, "Do you remember him?"

Lana squinted at the bald man.....he looked familiar......she tried to remember (she is scanning her memory bank and can only recall the moment Lex kissed her in, "Reckoning", but she doesn't remember anything else except his name is Lex.)

"Uh, yeah. I remember you Lex. We were...kissing." she started, but the words felt wierd on her tongue, like she wasn't supposed to say that.

Lex grinned evily and turned to the doctor, then walked up to lana.

Before Lana could do anything, Lex kissed her with full force. She wanted to pull away, but the kiss reminded her of something else....with someone else.....but she couldn't quite remember it.

Lex finally pulled away to the audience of a shocked doctor. "Erm....well, Lana is fine now, so I guess...Lana can go home with you, Lex."

Lex walked up to the doctor, "If anyone asks, tell them Clark Kent came to pick Lana up."

The doctor shot Lex a confused look, but when Lex flashed him some green paper with a $1,000,000 sign on it, the doctor nodded at Lex.

"Sure, whatever you say.......Mr. Kent." the doctor smiled, and grabbed the money.

Chloe walked through the halls of Smallville Medical. "Where ARE you, Lana?", Chloe thought, "Clark is going APWAD over you and he won't talk about it, he says to meet you here. And what did Clark mean when he said, 'she might remember.' Remember WHAT?"

Chloe shook her head, then walked up to the front desk. "Excuse me," Chloe asked," But I'm a friend of Lana Lang, have you seen her?"

The lady didn't even look up. "Her room is down the hall, 5a."

Chloe shook her head. "No, I don't think she's a patient.....I'm meeting her...isn't she visting or waiting for me?"

The lady looked at Chloe, bored. "We don't have another Lana Lang at this haspital." the lady replied flatly.

Chloe nodded at the lady, then smiled and walked to Lana's room.
"Lana's a PATIENT? Wonder what happened to her?" she thought to herself.

Chloe walked faster to Lana's room at thought of what she had just thought to herself.

But she got to the room, it was empty. There was only a doctor in there, setting up some flowers.

"Excuse me?" Chloe asked, "I'm looking for my friend- Lana? Have you seen her?"

The doctor stared at Chloe curiously. "She was picked up by.....uh, Mr. Clark Kent."

Chloe shook her head, confused and bewildred. "How is that possible doctor? Clark said to meet Lana here only an hour ago."

The docotr didn't even flinch. "He could've picked her up in an hour." the doctor replied, trying to avoid Chloe's gaze.

Chloe thought of Clark's super speeding and decided it seemed possible. "Maybe something came up," Chloe thought, and thanked the doctor, then started back to her car.

Luthor Mansion

"I hope you'll find this place like home, Lana." he said to her, touching her cheek, and pulling his lips to hers.

But this time, Lana was ready. "You're memory might be erased", Lana thought to herself, "But I know what I feel, and I know I don't like this."

She dodged Lex's lips and raced out of the room, unsure of what to do next.

Lex just watched her try to escape and laughed. "You can't escape Lana," he sighed, shaking his head, "You can escape my mansion, but you can't escape me."

OK, here's the post:


Lana raced outside the Luthor mansion, and away from the looming place. Part of her didn't know why she was running away from him- but part of her felt that running away from him was her only choice. But where would she go?

Her heart beated rapidly and it felt like it would explode out of her chest. She just had to keep running....running away......slowly, everything went fuzzy....then......before she knew what was happening, Lana passed out.

Chloe drove to her apartment silently, humming to herself- a question sticking in her mind: Why would Clark pick Lana up if he told Chloe to meet Lana there?

Chloe shook her head. Then again, she told herself, Clark has as many issues as Rolling Stone, why bother? He probably has some crazy reason like that time he saw into the future once-but still, it was odd.

Chloe pulled up into her driveway, daydreaming when.....THUD!

Chloe gasped, then got out of the car. There, on the sidewalk, was Lana. Her apperence looked fine, but her chest heavec up and down, and her eyes weren't open. This was not good.

Chloe pulled Lana into the apartment, and got a cool washcloth and put it on Lana's head, as she lay her on the sofa.

Chloe just stared for a moment and bit her nails.

If Clark had picked Lana up, then why was Lana near Chloe's sidewalk all the way in Metropoils? And why was Lana breathing so heavily? Was Lana trying to escape something?

Chloe reached for her cellphone, hands shaking.

"Hello? Yes. My name is Chloe Sullivan. My adress is Linn Apartments, Flat A2B. Yes, that's A2B. My friend was on my sidewalk, she doesn't look too good. Yes, it's an emergency. Please hurry! Thank you."

Chloe instantly dialed another number...the Kents........

Clark groaned as he heard the phone ring. HE didn't feel like talking, or eating, or speaking. The love of his life had forgotten him. And it was his fault. IF he had been paying attention to the road, they wouldn't have had the accident. None of this would have happened. They would be laying on the sofa, picking baby names..........

"CLARK!!!! CLARK!!!!" the answering machine yelled, "CLARK!!! PICK UP THE PHONE! IT"S ABOUT LAN-"

The moment Clark heard that he raced to the phone in the blink of an eye.

"hello?" he asked.

"Clark? Oh thank god. It's me Chloe. I found Lana on my sidewalk... she's having trouble breathing........Ahh!"

Clark was right behind Chloe that instant. "Stop doin that!" she grumbled, "It scared me out of my wits!"

"Where's Lana?" Clark demanded.

Chloe pointed to the living room.

Clark rushed there, and you could hear his voice suddenly, panicked, confused, hurt.

"Chloe, get a doctor! Lana's not breathing!"

Chloe meanwhile, had taken to pacing around the room back and forth, biting her nails and muttering all the while.

Finally, she blew up.

Literally.

She threw her hands in the air and glared at Clark.

"WHY DID YOU LEAVE LANA?!?!?!" she yelled, fuming.

Clark looked at her confused, "What do u mean?" he asked.......

Clark looked at Chloe- confused, which only made Chloe even more mad. How could he do this to her friend? What had he been thinking?

"Chloe, I-" he started, but lost his voice when a doctor came out of Lana's room.

Clark rushed up to the doctor.

"Is she OK?" he demanded, "Is the baby OK? Is-"

But the doctor just laughed.

"You're wife is fine,. Mr......Kent, right? And yes, the baby is healthy. And I know she has lost her memory....but....I'm pleased to say she HAS her memory back....although she has no recollection of the past day, the last thing she can remember is the accident....is that all right?" th doctor asked, a tiny bit worried.

But Clark grinned like a madman- she remembered again!

He rushed into Lana's room- to see a very content and serene asleep Lana.

He just stood there, for how long he didn't know......happy, joyful, but little did he know Lana's dream was not the same.


(Lana's Dream)

(Lana is in the Fortress of Solitude)

Lana (Looking around): Clark? Clark! Where are you?

Jor-El: Clark? You don't want to find him, Miss Lang- trust me.

Lana (looking around wildly) : It's Mrs. Kent now, Jor-El, and why wouldn't I want to find him? I love him!

Jor-El: Have you ever thought about his needs Miss Lang- he is destined for great things! But he cannot achieve them with you tagging by his side!

Lana: But.....but we love each other! That's what matters!

Jor-El: Yes, but he cannot only save you- he must save others Miss Lang. If you stay with him, you are taking away the chances of him saving others, you're dragging him down.'

Lana: I....I am? But can't he save others and help raise the family?

Jor-El: Do you expect that much from him?

Lana: I....I.......

Jor-El: Do what you must, Miss Lang- or- as you say- Mrs. Kent I'm just saying what's best from my son.

(End of Dream)

Lana woke up, drenched in sweat, panting.

"Lana- are you OK?" asked a voice.

She looked up. There was Clark- he looked worried and afriad.

Lana shook her head.

"Bad dream, that's all," she muttered, then looked back at Clark.

"Clark-" she asked, "What happened? THe last thing I remember was the truck hitting us and-"

Clark sat down on the bed with Lana and put his hand over hers, caressing it the way she liked.

"It's a long story Lana-" he sighed, "One that I'd prefer you you wouldn't hear."

Lana cocked her head, then shrugged. Suddenly her hand flew to her stomach.

"Is the baby all right?" she asked, concerned.

Clark smiled- one that was tired and happy at the same time.

"Yes, the baby's all right Lana- don't worry." he said, then picked her up, her arms draped around Clark's neck, "Let's go home Lana."

Lana managed to smile, but in truth she was still thinking about what Jor-El had said in her dream.

Was he right? Am I dragging Clark down?, Lana thought.

The moment they got home, Clark knew something was up.

Lana hadn't talked the whole drive to their house, and when Clark had squeezed Lana's hand she had pulled away, like she was afraid. Of what, Clark didn't know.

"What's up?" he asked Lana the moment they got in the house.

Lana just stared at her hands and laid on the sofa. Her voice was crackly and hoarse.

"C-C-Clark, am- am I dragging you down?"

THe question shocked Clark.

"Why'd you think something like that?" he asked, unsure of what he should say.

"Am I Clark?" she lifted her eyes from her shaking hands to Clark eyes, "I mean, without me, you could be so much more. You could save people, and bring peace to the world, the super man. I'm just dragging you down."

Clark shook his head and put his arms around Lana, looking into her eyes.

Lana looked at Clark. is eyes....they could make her happy, sad, confused, shocked, joyful. And right now, his eyes made her feel all of them. But most of all, his eyes made her feel loved, appreiciated, even sometimes sexy. (had to throw that in! :D)

Clark smiled at Lana.

"Lana", he said softly, still looking into her eyes, "nothing in the world would make me think that. I love you Lana Lang....I always will. I feel whole when I'm around you, not dragging. You complete me Lana....I love you."

At the last remark, Lana couldn't help it. It was either hormones or her love for him, maybe it was a little of both. She threw her arms around Clark and started sobbing. Happily.

Apperently, Clark could sense this too, because he lifted her up, carried her upstairs and.....well, if you had been downstairs in the Kent household just then, you would've heard loud giggles, groans, and an occasional, "CLAAAAARK!" You do the math. ;)

Lex had it all planned out. It was a flawless plan, even the evilest of villians would have been proud of it.

"You're going down Kent," Lex muttered, as he picked up his phone and dialed some numbers, "And Lana is mine."

Smallville

Lana picked up her ringing cell phone.

"Hello?" she asked.

"lana. I hope you're all right after the car accident and all, my best wishes to you." came the reply.

"Lex?" Lana asked, instantly recognizing his foul voice.

"Yes Lana. It's me. But I was hoping you could swing by the mansion, Clark's over here and um, he wanted to show you something."

"Can I speak to him?"

"Oh no, he's in the bathroom."

Lana paused before answering. She really wasn't in the mood to see Lex, and last time she had checked, neither was her husband. But she knew Lex and Clark had fought before, and in the end they always made up...."Besides," she thought, "What could go wrong?"

"Sure. I'll come as soon as I can." Lana finally answered.

"Of course." Lex said, then hung up. Lex dialed some more numbers.

Metropolis

"Smallville, over here. I think we have a hot one on our hands." Lois Lane told Clark, showing him an article.

"But why-" Clark started, but before he could finish, a faint beeping came from his cellphone.

He glanced at his phone and read the text message.

Clark-
I'm going to be at my friends house for a little get together between my high school friends. I'm not going to be home until somewhere tomorrow. Don't expect me until late.

Clark looked quizzicaly at the phone. Lana wasn't the sort of person to do a spur of the moment thing, but hey, it was Lana. "If she wants to go", Clark thought to himself, "That's fine with me." Then he recalled yesterday's ,"bedroom episode".

"It's especially fine with me if she comes home in the mood for that", Clark smiled to himself, licking his lips. LOL!

U don't need to be sorry, we're just visiting her , but GUESS WHAT? My sister caught a fever at the last minute, and my sister acts like she's gonna die or something (it gets real annoying.) And since she's the ,"baby", of the family,she's persuaded Mom to stay here. So, I'm going to be back home here for a few days.....3 at most, the fever's not serious. So expect within the next hour.

A knock came from the door, and Lex pulled it open calmly.

Lana looked around. "Where's Clark?" she asked Lex, who was pouring himself some champagne.

"Oh, he's in this room...." Lex said, pointing to a door.

Lana pulled it open and gasped. There was huge machine with wires spread everywhere, and a helmet connected to the machine.

"Where's Clark?" she asked in a daze, turning around the exit the room.

"Your not going anywhere." said a voice, and with that, the door behind Lana closed shut, and there was a click of someone locking the door.

On the other side of the door. Lex laughed. A man stood beside him, loading his gun with a large, green bullet.......

Smallville

Clark sighed as he heard the emptiness in the house. He wished Lana would return soon, but he knew she probably wouldn't return until tomorrow morning.

He stretched , then decided to take a walk. He pulled on his jacket and walked outside into the crisp, brisk air.

He had only walked a few blocks when he noticed a man was following him, ever since he had gotten out of his house. Before he could he could decide what to do next, he heard a cry and turned around.

The man was pointing a gun at an elderly woman. Clark raced to the man not using superspeed, hoping not to freak out the elderly woman.

But it was a mistake. The man took out the gun and shot. Clark's first thought was that it would freak out the elderly lady when she saw the bullet not effect Clark , but he only saw a glimpse of the green bullet as it pierced his chest. And by the time he glimpsed the bullet, it was too late.

The woman screamed as she saw the body hit the ground, but the man who had been pointing the gun at her just picked up the body and dragged it into his truck.

2 hours Later Metropolis

Lana had been locked in the room for two hours. It wasn't cold in there, but the machine was starting to freak her out. There were buttons everywhere, and when she pressed one, it demanded a code.

So she was glad when she heard the door open, but she was not glad for long.

Lex came in, grinning and holding a body in his hands. Another man was beside him, and Lex thrust a wad of cash into the man's hands. "Good job." Lex muttered, and then the man walked out of the room.

Lex looked at the frightened Lana and snickered. He dumped the body onto the chair with the machine helmet over it.

"GO ahead," he smiled evily, "You might recognise him."

Lana raced to the chair with the body int it, her heart pounding. Her head was telling her one thing, but her heart was telling her another.

She looked at the body, not breathing. It was Clark.

She glared at Lex, anger pouring into her, so much she forgot where she was sitting, and didn't notice when Lex pressed this button and typed the code, "LexySexy". (LOL! :D)

All of a sudden, the helmet was thrust onto Lana's head and before she could think of what to do, the helmet instantly put her to sleep.

Lex looked at the screen, then typed in some words. "She won't remember Clark is her husband, or that she's pregnant with his baby.....second thought maybe I should just get the baby aborted. She'll think me and her are lovers, and doesn't remember anything about Clark. Anything Clark did, she'll think I did." he smiled to himself at his brilliant plan, and realized why he had paid around 49 billion dollars for the machine, and then added, "And when she wakes up, I'll propose to her. Too bad Clark here couldn't see that."

Then, with one swift motion, he clicked the button, "Rearrange memories."

Clark jumped up with a start , his head hurting instantly. A clear voice rang out.

"Kal-El, it is time to start your journey."

Clark shook his head, clutching it at the same time. "No! Where's Lana? Something's wrong, isn't it?"

"Lana does not have importance in your life. It is not in the prophecy. You must make your pilgrimage."

Clark winced, the pain in his head was becoming worse. "She DOES have importance in my life! I love her! She's everything to me!"

"NO, SHE DOES NOT!" Kal-El boomed, "You must save the lives of others, protect your people. Isn't that what you wanted? You must fulfill the prophecy! You must make the pilgrimage to travel to the Kryton Galaxy and pay your respects to Krypton! It is essential in learning about your planet and fulfilling the prophecy!"

Clark was filled with rage. "Yeah well, I don't WANT to fulfill the prophecy!"

All of a sudden though, the pain shot through Clark like a speeding bullet. He groaned, then there was a flash of light. Clark was now Kal-El.
