Another temper tantrum by Carlos Zambrano tonight.. He gave up up 5 homeruns to my Braves! After giving up back to back homeruns, he threw inside to Chipper Jones(who hit a homer eariler) and was ejected. He then cleaned out his locker and left Turner Field and claims he's retiring now....Whatever, he has anger management issues and should just leave the game for awhile..
Wow, yeah he probably just needs to calm down. He has the capacity to be so much greater as a pitcher if he could only keep his emotions more in check. But it's clear anger management didn't help that much.
Other than last night, the Cubs seemed to be playing a lot better these days. Not that it really matters when they are 17 games below .500 and out of contention. I guess they are just playing for some semblance of pride.

I think its safe to say that no Chicago team will be doing anything great at all

lol. I honestly don't know what is wrong with the Braves, especially with their recent string of losses to the Nationals. But they seem to be hanging on by a thread despite themselves. I was a Braves fan for a long time before become a Cubs fan, and part of me still roots for them (they are my NL East team :p). I hope they can get their act together, because with the current playoff picture, they are just about the only team that I would really want to root for that our playoff contenders. And of course, as a Cubs fan I dislike the Cardinals :p. Though, unlike many Cubs fans, I actually root for the White Sox sometimes too and was actually happy when they won the world series. Gave me hope that my favorite Chicago team could win in about 100 years from now :p.

I've been a Braves fan since I started watching baseball full time in 1991. Them being on TBS all the time gave me something to watch. I'm also a Cubs fan, so I'll be watching the ESPN special tonight called "Catching Hell" about how everybody blames Steve Bartman for the Cubs losing to the Marlins in the 2003 NLCS. But I also like the Cardinals:lol: I'm weird like that, I like both the Cubs and Cardinals eventhough they are bitter rivals!

Oh yeah I know. It was stupid of Steve Bartman to reach out for that foul ball, but the Cubs had so many chances to close that series out, and they dug their own grave. It was kind of silly, ok really silly and gross, that to try to beat the curse, that they exploded the baseball that Steve Bartman intercepted and cooked up with some sauce and ate it. So weird lol.
What's funny is that if you go to Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago, there is a sign promoting their membership program. It says something like 'Cubs fans, if you buy this card, we will reverse the curse. Sox fans, if you this buy this card, we won't reverse it' lol

Haha, I understand. It's like the usual natural hate between White Sox and Cubs fans, Red Sox and Yankee fans, Mets and Yankee fans, etc.
Yeah I remember the Brewers being in the AL. It's weird looking back that they had to switch leagues.

With them being so close and not getting there in 2003, I'm convinced the Cubs will never go to a World Series in my lifetime:( I need to build a time machine and either let the goat in the stadium or kidnap the goat before that guy leaves for the stadium!:rotfl:

Both Red Sox and Braves gave up big leads in the Wild Card. Horrendous. I am not really a fan of any of the teams left. It would be interesting to see Tigers in the world series though. That hasn't happened in awhile. How about this Tigers and Brewers? But that won't happen, it will probably be Yankees and Phillies.

Awesome 1-0 game friday night! I've only seen 1 other game like that, 1999 NLCS Game 3 Braves at Mets. Braves scored in the 1st and it held up the whole game! I have no strong feelings one way or another in terms of the Texas Rangers and they didn't win last year, so therefore I'm hoping they win this year, makes things interesting. Not only have Cardinals won recently, they also beat out the only team I really wanted to root for at the 11th hour before the playoffs (Braves), and are of course arch-rivals of my loveable losers, the Cubs :p.

After the comebacks of both teams, are we sure there's not a script somewhere that's been written by Vince McMahon? It's tension and suspense and comebacks from behind mixed with blowouts. Reminds me of old school wrestling lol! Oh yeah and rain delays too!
What a fantastic series. This is an amazing rivalry and it all comes to a head tonight.
Did anyone see Nolan Ryan's face last night right after the game ended? He looked like "Oh man we have to do this all again?!?"

lol, it does seem like that doesn't it haha. Oh yes, I noticed that too.
Yeah from what I have seen it, it has been a good series. Those Rangers had so many chances to close the game out last night. Craziness. I figured it would be Pujols to ruin their party rather than Freese though. I still remember years ago, Brad Lidge was one strike away from a save in the NLCS in 2005 (I had to re-look up the year), and Pujols had hit a home run to push the series to a game six.
I think St. Louis has had it's time, and that Texas should win the World Series to keep things interesting. Of course, that would make the best story, a team that has never won the world series, finally wins it. But I have a feeling that St. Louis will win tonight, even though I do not want them too :p. I am not a Texas fan but it would be nice for them to win. Admittedly I dislike the Cardinals and that's probably why they will win :p.

I didn't think anything could top the last day of the regular season, but I think Game 6 did!!! Game 7 was awesome too, but much less dramatic!! If you go back a few pages, you'll see I said the only way I'll let the Cardinals slide for beating my Braves out of the playoffs is if the win the whole thing so all is forgiven!!!! :) Anybody notice this little historical fact? The 1991, 2001 and 2011 World Series all went 7 games.. The winning team was beind 3 games to 2 going home for games 6 and 7 and won those games! Look out whoever has a 3-2 lead in 2021!!

Yeah Game 6 was intense. I didn't like Game 7 so much and I couldn't watch most of it. For me, the fact that they beat the Braves out for the wild card then won it all stung a little. But I kind of figured that they might win. Of course the team I really don't want to win, wins. So if I ever root for someone, feel free to predict the other team will win from now on :p.
