View Full Version : cyborg's and clark's landing...

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten Lex spinning. It would be possible for cyborg to jump off a building and leave his mark on the pavement. But for any investigators (Lex!) it would be obvious that 'something' else landed alongside cyborg. And Lex found out Clark was in the lab helping cyborg escape. Lex should be fanatically replaying survailence videos and investigating this. Afterall, the more times you play a video simulation, the more sense it makes ;)
Lex:
Clark, you know what I find amazing? There are TWO pairs of footprints in the destroyed parking lot at the lab. Hmmm. Do you know how that could be?
Clark:
Probally some time/phyiscal anomaly caused by your frankenstein lab experiments.

It's just like the two blurs he saw swimming away after they destroyed Leva-whatever.

I wondered about this too. Maybe he didn't know about the impact markings or just dismissed it as that Cyborg did it all on his own. :\ :)

That was the coolest moment on the episode. I hope it keeps Lex up at nights wondering. He can Eat It! It was a great superhero moment.

After that video that someone tried to use to black mail Martha I thought 'dude is that the only building in Kansas that has surveliance cameras?'
But this is Smallville so in a way the fact that this is so obvious and has never been brought up on the show makes sense.

What really should fry your bacon is why didn't LEX see this tape?! I would think that would be the very first thing he would check, even before the security guard would.
Wow, 4 "would"s in the same sentence. LOL!
I brought up the twin jump impressions over at TWoP. I wonder if that puzzled Lex.

When they both got to the rooftop I was half expecting Clark to take Cyborg and do a super leap away from the scene.

I considered immediately that it would look bad if they both made a mark in the pavement so I looked really hard and couldnt tell one way or the other whether there were two sets of prints or only one... in fact, I left the scene feeling okay with the idea that only Cyborg would have made such an impact due to the weight of his equipment. I'm not sure what kind of pavement damage there would be if 200lbs of flesh and bone landed on it, compared to whatever the metal in Cyborg weighs.

I figured the impact of both of their landings just totally mushed up and crumbled the pavement, in reality if that were to happen I doubt there would be 'footprints', just a huge crater of rubble. Im sure if Lex were to put experts on it they would figure that the impact of two people created it, but from looking at the rubble they most likely just assumed Victor jumped on his own.
but besides that, that was an AWESOME shot. I remember thinking 'dude...thats friggin cool'

would if he fell sideways? on his back?
and what do they have to compare it to?

side note....
that thing was leviathan. (Sort of like a Kracken.... a very deadly ancient sea monster of great power and myth.)
but, I'm sure that place had to have security cameras... it's rather convenient if it didn't. (And a really bad plot hole imo)

has anyone not realised that clark should be changing his footware every episode. No pair of shoes can take that treatment, even when he superspeeds, his shoes should be smoking.

That was an awesome addition to that scene, and yes, Lex should really notice details like that. I just wonder why Lex is standing back and not trying to capture Clark as he has done with both Aquaman and Cyborg. Lex knows Clark broke both of them out, and he knows there is *something* about Clark that warrants further exploration, but he still hasn't tried anything.

I thought the jump and the landing was one of the coolest special effects ever!

Yeah, me too. I thought Clark was going to grab Jet Jackson and say "hold on" and then go off flying.

When they got to the edge of the rooftop I thought when they were running to the edge, they were gonna look and glance at each other kinda like "Are you gonna jump?" and nod.
Or I thought they were gonna jump to the roof of another building and Clark was gonna lend a little help.
Yeah , Thats good they didnt ask eachother about jumping or not. that would ruin the already terrible episode.. Besides the ending.

It was a very cool scene. Before I even read any posts, the title of the post made me say..."oh that was very cool..."

I'm pretty sure that you could see that cyborg and clark made separate imprints in the pavement, which was still recognizable.

Clark's landing strongly suggests he can't fly yet. Otherwise, why crash into the pavement?

um because he doesnt want Cyborg to KNOW he can fly. All Cyborg knows is Clark has super strength and that he can do 'alot of things' if Clark thought he could trust Victor completley he woulda said 'well im the last son of this planet called Kryp...'.
Do you really think Clark wants to go fly around in his Clark gear? 'Look up in the sky its a bird its a plane! its... A buff farm boy in a blue shirt and bright red jacket that never matches?' Theres only one kid in all of Kansas who has the balls to wear such a mismatched outfit on a daily basis. Why dont you just strap a neon sign to your face. Superman wears a costume for a reason.

Clark has been jumping around Metropolis and Smallville for years. This is the first time he ever left a mark.
That's what I thought when I saw them land. Cool effect, but it didn't make much sense to me.

He has hit a lot of stuff that does get damaged, the side of the hospital, the desk he flattened just recently, but i don't recall too many times that he ever jumped down from such a height like a sack of sand. It was a great effect.

God I loved that scene! It was just amazing. And yes of course the thought about Lex crossed my mind....actually weighs heavily on it. Theyre not focusing on him really studying Clark as much anymore...its rather the stones, the ship, other people, etc. You would think they'd show him learning new stuff, like with any surveillance camera as in the first season with the rogue cop (can't remember his name, grrr) Ah well

That's what I thought, too. If he left this kind of mark when he was jumping from the Daily Planet for the first time into LuthorCorp...;)

I just watched the episode again and I no longer think Clark left a crater. It seemed like when Cyborg landed, the ground cracked and the cracks extended to where Clark landed. This would make sense and would be consistent with how it never happened with Clark before.

i agree that was a great moment, and I do think Lex should be suspicious and they should be looking into it or something.

Suppose with regards to the landing, clark can control how fast he jumps down and the impact he makes when he lands. I mean hes done a few great jumpes so the impact he makes he probably controls with a little hovering. :-p

i thought the landing didn't leave footprints, just cracked the ground open.
