The only way Clark could have heard what Chloe said to Lana about, "Does he like blonds?" (in reference to Victor) is if Chloe engaged Clark's superhearing just before Clark walked into Chloe's office.

Does anyone else concur?

yeah he never seems to hear people coming into the barn before they get there even though they always drive up in vehicles
