The cyborg eppy is cool. I love the cyborg guy.
Some of the dialog in this episode, which is not even over yet, seems off somehow. Awarkward or something. The Lex and Clark conversation (when Clark thinks it is all Lexes fault), the Lana and cyborg conversation (when Lana asks him not to lie).
And even when Clark and Lex were friends, waltzing in the mansion at the drop of a dime, past security is getting very unrealistic, not to mention weird.

I know. Even if Clark can get past security by sneaking in somehow, why doesn't Lex ever question that? It does seem odd.

Did they get a bunch of new writers? I don't seem to recognize the names very much anymore. Doesn't seem like they have the flow down right yet for dialogue, story maybe, but not dialogue.

Yeah you're right, the dialogue seems off a bit. Especially the conversations between Clark and Lana. But maybe their conversations are supposed to feel forced to show their discomfort and failing relationship? Just a guess.

if you think this was bad what did you think of the previous episodes? the terrible writers really showed off their skills for cheesifying a perfectly good show, cyborg was an improvement

"Cheesifying"--- that's a good word!
Yeah, I agree, the cheese factor in Smallville has been pretty overwhelming in the last few seasons. ESPECIALLY in the relationship between Lana and Clark. Sometimes it's too much to bear!

Cyborg was way way better written then Tomb.

I don't know, I just don't feel the dialogue is as quotable anymore, the only one I liked was Chloe's "on a scale from one to Taye Diggs" and the *silence* after Lana's line about Victor lying to his girlfriend hypothetically.

chloe usually delivers the best lines, and even this season they've managed to keep up with that a bit. but still, al&miles need to give up with the whole aquaman thing and come back to smallville...

If you ask me, whoever wrote "Cyborg" should be awarded for writing one of the better episodes of this year. In a season that has given us "Thirst", "Mortal", "Aqua", "Exposed", "Lockdown" and "Fanatic", it's nice to be able to place something like this along with "Hidden" and "Reckoning".
And also, Clark seemed to be written better in this episode than he has all year. He wasn't as angsty or whiney. He seemed cool and precise, very Superman like. Hopefully, this trend keeps up as Clark's character has been in very bad shape since "Mortal".

Remember.....Lex has the worst security in the world at home. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt, thinking that since his mansion is out in the middle of nowhere, he wouldn't need much security. You would think after the numerous attempts on his life at the mansion, he would beef it up a little more.

I think the issue of the Luthor Mansion security is one that they willfully ignore for the sake of drama. I kind of like the cheese factor of it. It's become a tongue in cheek joke which I would prefer not to go away, like the pink elephant in the room nobody wants to talk about, it's it's own character on the show and damn funny too. In the future, after the show is done, I think a homage montage to lax mansion security would be pretty hilarious. We're in the fifth year. You'd think if they really wanted to correct it, they'd have done it by now, so yeah, I think about it and notice it, but it doesn't bother me anymore.

Until Lex tells his security guards not to admit his former best friend, they'll admit him.
