first i didnt think people become senator because a family member who was the voted senator dies.

but let's assume that is OK with the smallville world.

secondly, i thought she was still contemplating about this idea. but in this episode lionel calls her the senator already?


in which episode did martha make the decision to take that job?

Yes, this is true. I know that a man died two weeks before he got elected so his wife took the job, but maybe that is different.
