Someone in another thread its because Lana hits Cyborg dead on and that causes the...um...Dang it! the..parachute thing..I can't remember what its called! AIRBAG!!! Okay, lets try this again..

Lana hits Cyborg dead on and that causes the airbag to be deployed and that saves her life. In Reckoning, Lana was ran into from the side and for some reason that did not make the airbag go off...Yeah, didn't make alot of sense to me either, it should have deployed.
