I had a feeling that for the most part this would be one of those forgettable episodes.
I did however love the Clana moment when Lana told Clark she loves him with all her heart, hehe!!
And the Chloe - Mom scene was a nice touch at the end.

I thought the last scene with Chloe and her mom was very emotional. I was wondering why they didn't show her face but i think it held more emotional value this way. :)
All-in-all a great episode! I give it a 4/5 raiting cause it had some nice suspence and an interesting story in it. :)

Well, once again the writers prove my point that they don't have one ounce of creativity left in their sorry brains.

I liked it,kind of a challenge to understand the whole thing; liked it better than ep 100 :) hated that episode
reasons why I like it....
You get a sense/answer to the fact that Martha is going to take the senate seat, Clark is manning up and doing more chores on the farm, more stress added between Clark Lex, etc. etc.

My only problem with this eppy was using the Talon as the House of the dead.
COME ON! writers why not use the DP its a new locale for Smallville and there are plenty of rooms in that building where a body could have been hidden.
But nooooo! they use the Talon. Its been around since S1 and all of the suddenly crazy orderlies are sticking bodies in the wall. Puh-leaze.

To be totally honest, with the exception of the aforementioned Clana moment and Chloe-Mom moment, I enjoyed this episode about as much as I enjoyed "FOREVER" from Season 4 ;)

Your right. I can't help but wonder what's going on. It's like these are totally different writers. Not that they have ever been great mind you, just not THIS bad.
Is it my imagination or is this like a condensed "Stir Of Echoes"?

I couldn't see the point of this filler episode....but I was hoping for some Clana. When Lana told Clark she still loved him, my heart practicaly leaped out of my chest. When she told him she didn't know how to talk to him, by heart turned gray and fell off.

afraid it was going to be hard to follow up the last two episodes....and I was right, this one was definately lacking.

actually, if you plug this episode into whne thirst aired i think would have been better.
1. this was definatley a better episode thant thirst
2. might have made the build up for Splinter even greater, clarks paranoia over lex and Lana

That is a good point.

Compared to Aqua, this was an award winning episode.
It did show a strong relationship between Clark and Chloe and it led to Chloe making the hard decision to go see her mother.
Now for stupidity, the Lois throwing the Bowie knife, this is like something from a cheap ancient cowboy & Indian movie. That show an absolute lack of creativity on the part of the writers.
(You did catch Lois' unnecessarily snide remark to Clark as she went to make a coffee for Chloe?)

AM was great and Chloe rocked the house. Lois was there for no reason I could discern and could have been away visiting her father for all she added to the story. She was shoehorned in as she always is. They have to find things for her to do and that's pathertic but then so is her character to date.
Lana's scene in the barn was even worse since, remember, she berated Clark, as she always does when she doesn't get her way then DUMPED him, leaving him greiving in the graveyard over his father's grave. THey aren't a couple so who is she to come complaining to him about how couple should behave.
She doesn't care for him and never really did and whether its finding his dad's watch which never rang true to coming to talk to him in the barn about whatever, is just filler to have her appear. They are not a couple and I'm sick of seeing her little nagging appearances where she acts as if they were and tells Clark how much she cares and her declaration of lovwe was just more crap. Note Clark finally didn't return the swill. Maybe he is growing up a bit and its about time.

I don't think Lana is berating Clark. She wants answers from a baby who just stares off in to space when confronted with legitimate concerns. I think any woman would want to know why the love of her live want touch her or even talk to her. I like how the writers are showing Lana to be the one trying to keep them together and expressing how she feels. Clark is so dense if he fell in the forest would he hear it. Since Fanatic she has continually reached out only to be rebuked. She should just get over his dumb self.

True. AM was wonderful in the episode, but it makes you wish it wasn't just a rehash of Stir of Echos, but an original, and dramatic episode about Chloe finding her mom. It could have been a pedestrian episode: Ie--no FOTW, no Clark using powers, just Chloe's personal story. Comics do that. And with over 100 episodes under their belts, a slower paced story without superhuman elements wouldn't be such a bad digression.
The filler episodes I've actively disliked this season include: Thirst, Fanatic, Tomb, and to a certain extent Reckoning (STILL not sure how I feel about the episode. Felt like someone punched me in the stomach halfway through--didn't need Lana to die, just for Lana to KNOW...MOVE THE DAMN STORY FORWARD!! WHO DO I HAVE TO *@#*$*....but I digress).
Hopefully there will be fewer 'Tomb's the next 6 episodes, and more 'Arrival, Mortal, Hidden, Splinter, Solitude, and Cyborg's.
