I must say it is one of the most intense episodes I have ever seen of smallville.
Who agrees?

Felt like that last half was actually pretty tame. It was a nice change but it falls back into the same pattern of Kryptonite as a plot tool.

that i felt was an understatement.
I do agree that the Kryptonite as a plot device gets overused WAY too much.. but possession is something difficult to explain.... and when it's difficult to explain the default answer always seems to be kryptonite.
But, it's an episode that I felt myself fully entrhalled in.... something that I can rarely say about any TV show... smallville or any other.
This episode was the most intense to me.

Many ppl are traumatized from having watched Smallville. This is just a known fact but I don't think anyone is going to kill themselves over it.:rotfl:

most soaps arent rated PG. and most children arent home watching them either. know your audience, smallville does.
I dont see how a show that usually has juvenile or fantasy filled themes, and if there are mature themes they usually deal with love, growing up, and lies, SHOULDNT have a warning if they choose to deal with themes that are very real, affect real people, can be considered disturbing to some and are of a sensitive nature. It doesnt mean they are showing the first 20 minutes of saving private ryan or anything, but it is definetly of a sensitive nature.
CSI, 24, and shows like are not only rated mature and if you havent payed attention ALOT of these shows have discretion warnings before EACH AND EVERY EPISODE, they also deal with these situations in every episode or almost every episode. the basic outline here is, know your audience.
MyOwnSuperhero
You know, with the shower scene, the slit wrists, the creepy ghost chick, the bloody foot prints, the rotting corpse in the wall, the serial killer, the issues of mental illness, the psycho killer dialogue about "the crawly things under your skin", the funky "mother wasn't a good person" stuff, the coerced suicide that almost happened, the final suicide that did happen (even though it wasn't clearly shown), and all the super intense emotional stuff, I think it might be safe to say that the "Viewer Discretion" Advisory was totally warranted. The part that some aspects of the episode is scarry for children. AND the suicidal theme could be touchy for other viewers who take it VERY Seriously and don't find it funny. (not that it was portrayed in anyway fun) you never know what families have had suicide issues.
Try watching the Episode "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter." Season 2
204 Goodbye
205 Goodbye (2)
206 No Right Way
207 What Dad Would Want
these after are similar issues that people are concerned about. Issues that might bring back bad memories. Not to mention any condoning of taking the law into your own hands and Killing a murderer.
P.S. This was the BEST Performance of ALL the Actors, every single scene are Brilliant! and the Subtexts are PERFECT! AM,AoT,ED,MB,MR,TW & KK
