Man I saw the episode last week where he was a chimp. For some odd reason watching a grown man walking around like a chimp is more interesting that most shows on TV these days.

Now you got me thinking of a Quantum Leap/Smallville cross over.

Sam: "Al, where am I?"
Al: "Ziggy says you're in a town called Smallville, Kansas. Smallville, I knew a real cute red head here once....."
Sam: “Come on, AL!"
Al: "Sorry, Sam. According, to Ziggy you are Clark Kent, he's father won the senate race here, but died on the same night."
Sam: “So I'm supposed to save him?"
Al: "No we are too late for that. I'm not quite sure why you are here," But there is something strange about this kid. He's strong!"
Sam: “How strong?"
Al: "Stronger than Gouchie's breath. And...Well, he's escaped the waiting room and well...."
Sam: “Well what?"
Al: "Well, he's escaped the base. Sam, this kid reminds me a lot of Superman?"
Sam: "Who’s Superman?"
Al: Who’s Superman? Oh yeah I forgot that Swiss cheese brain of yours. Well Superman is our greatest hero. He's.... whose in the shower?"
Sam: "Al, Please."
AL: "Sorry, Sam. Oh I forgot President Luthor is coming on the base, it appears that the escape has leaked to the Whitehouse. Now don't worry, I’ll stall until I find out more, in the meantime...."
Chloe: "Clark, could you pass me a towel."
Sam and Al:" OOOOOH BOOOOOY!"

Sorry folks couldn't resist.

Ohhhhh boy....

Funny stuff

Good to see more ppl are out there writing QL fan fic...

hehe

Technically, QL is still going on....

Not sure if I'll get in trouble for saying this, but there is a website that is keeping QL going as if it was never cancelled....

Ah Quantum Leap. Truly one of the Holy Shows.

Although the concept itself was not original, the writing for that show was top notch.

I was one angry camper when the show went OTA.

Quantum Leap is by far the best show ever. Right next to Early Edition and Renegade. Can't forget Air Wolf.

Lionel Luthor is the man.

Ha I loved that! Good job! At times I wish Smallville was a little more like QL.

Thanks :)

Actually after doing this bit, I actually got the workings of a QL/Smallville crossover. I would love to write a chapter when time permits. Busy at the paper and on my fiction novel, but I would definitely love to try, but I wouldn't know where to put in the forum...

Gr8stNonKryptonianHero,
You got to PM me that QL site ........

Hi again,

I wrote the prologue for QL/Smallville crossover. I just got to type it up now. Is there an area where I can post it?

Leap of Fate (teaser)
Jor-el:"You have Ka-el's aura, but you are not my son."
Sam: "A terrible wrong has happened and I have to fix it."
Jor-el: "You cannot go back and stop Fate."
Al: "Obviously this talking ice box hasn't heard of Dr. Sam Beckett."

Actually, I think it would be alot more fun if Sam leaped into Pete Ross or Lex and then Clark could see both him and Al for obvious reasons.

Supercanuck

Jephael,

I would agree with you that Pete would be a cool idea. It would bring an interesting dialog between the three of them. Especially about Al knowing that someday Lana would marry Pete.

But Sam leaping in to Lex to make things better, I think he would be stuck there for a looooong time. :)

No kidding man, unless Project Quantum Leap existed on Earth-2 cause that's where Lex is a good person (or atleast he was).

One time I met this kid who was a fan of QL before I ever even heard about it and he was making up this idea about Sam leaping into Leonardo (see my avatar) and then Spider-Man. It was pretty weird to say the least.

I loved Quantum Leap!

My favorite show when I was younger.

I've always liked the premise of one person saving the lives of others, not because he has to, but because he chooses to. In the series finale, Al the Bartender asked Sam what he wanted. Sam said simply "I want to go home." But he didn't go home, because he had a wrong to right for Al (Dean Stockwell's Al, not Al the Bartender). Then at the very end, it said simply "Dr. Sam Beckett never went home." Heartbreaking.

Another great show like Quantum Leap...EARLY EDITION!
This was about a guy (Kyle Chandler) who got tomorrow's newspaper today. He too was just one guy saving the world one life at a time. And like Sam, Gary (Kyle's character) had the choice...if he didn't want the paper, he didn't have to get it (this was shown in the episode "Fate" when Lucius Snow says"The choice is yours. Always has been. Time to accept that.") But although it was hard, and he had to sacrifice so much, Gary always chose to save those around him.

To tie this in with Smallville...I want to see Clark become like Sam and Gary. They were caring, compassionate heroes. Completely selfless. And unlike Clark, they were normal people with no superpowers. I would like to see Clark realize that he does have the choice to become who he wants to become. I want him to realize that he is a hero, whether he has powers or not. That's what is in him...to be caring, compassionate, and selfless. When he realizes this, then he will be superman, regardles of whether or not he wears a red cape.

Early Edition was sooo cool. I don't know why it was cancelled.

Almost done typing the prologue. Can anyone tell me where I can post it on this site?

Word man Word!
I loved Gary and I hated when they canceled it but is true this is the essence of a hero something Clark lacks I want him to be redeem I want Jor-L for the first time give him the choice to be normal and human with Lana, give him the choice to live a normal life and he finally open his eyes to the good he can do and saying No! that he will use his powers for good even if it means being alone for the rest of his life and that nobody will ever loved him or admired him for them...That would be truly heroic and marvel since they are trying to marvelize him. I just hope there is still time for it... :(

There's a fanfic section on the boards here where you could post it. Question: Wasn't Al the same dude who played that mystery writed on The Langoliers? That movie seriously freaked me out the first time I saw it.

Yep, that was him allright. Infact it really makes sense that they would use Dean Stockwell for that kinda movie after seeing how great he was as Al the hologram!

Cool thanks....

btw, I love the Star Trek: Enterprise episode where Scott and Dean were reunited. Dean's character had a hand link that was soo cool.

As big of a fan as I am of the show, own the DVD's, I didn't even pick up on the similarities in the mentioned scene and QL. You are right though!

I was taking it at face value and thinking it was just another old horror film stolen trick. Didn't even think they might be stealing from a classic Sci Fi show!

Well it's done. the prologue is here:

I hoped I put it in the right thread. I had problems with my own computer, so I hope it turned out alright......

I think that tptb should consider on bringing to Smallville some
Quantum Leap cast members...they could bring Scott Bakula as a
FOTW and Dean Stockwell as somebody working at the Swaan Foundation.....

it would be nice to see one of them make an appearance in the series for sure :)

This info comes from imdb site for Dean Stockwell.
