One of the best written shows ever. Shame it's not on DVD yet. I hope they release it in 2004.

If you liked Wonder Years, you will enjoy "American Dreams" on NBC at 8/7 central.
I always describe it to people as "Wonder Years" without that annoying Winnie Cooper.
I loved Kevin Arnold. He was such a cute kid ... but he was always fixated on Winnie. *sigh*

I heard about that guy, Jason something, he became a director or something. Guys from the street used to beat him up just because he played the brother that we all hated.
Yeah, I used to watch everyday right after school. Great show, hopefully it'll be on DVD soon.

I agree, that was one of the best shows ever.I loved that internal monologue when you got to hear kevin Arnold think to himself.I wish more tv shows and movies would do that. That was defenitely a very unique and special show.I just want it to come out on VHS.

The Wonder Years is one of my all time favorite shows. It is one of the very few shows that never jumped the shark. Every season was enjoyable. My favorite characters were Kevin's dad Jack, and Kevin's brother Wayne. The show was very accurate to the time period, and also very accurate on what it was like growing up. I also loved the naration from Daniel Stern.
Favorite episodes :
Season 1
Pilot - Kevin and Paul attend junior high school for the first time, and Kevin and Winnie kiss for the first time.
Swingers - Kevin and Paul start learning about sex education, and they shoplift a book to learn more about it.

Heart of Darkness - Winnie wears contacts instead of her glasses and begins to hang out with the popular kids now that she is with Kirk McCray. Meanwhile, Kevin and Paul go camping with a kid named Gary who gets them to drink alcohol with him. At first they think it is cool, but then realize they were being stupid.
Season 2

Square Dance - When Kevin is partnered with class weirdo, Margaret Farquhar, he tries to keep away from her - especially when she tries to become his friend.
Season 3
Wayne on Wheels - Kevin wants to get to the mall to see a girl he can't stop thinking about, but the only way he can is by begging his brother to drive.
Odd Man Out - When Kevin and Paul get on each other's nerves, they try to become best friends with two other boys.
The Pimple - Kevin is looking forward to the visit of an old family friend, Gina, until he discovers his first pimple.

St. Valentine's Day Masacre- To make up for being rude and insenstive to Winnie, Kevin makes her a Valentine's card, but it is accidently placed in Becky Slater's locker. When Becky finds the card, she thinks Kevin wants her back - setting the two up for a showdown.
Tree House - When Kevin and his dad build a treehouse in the backyard, they discover they get a good view of an attractive neighbor planting her tomatoes. Meanwhile, Doug is in shock after having heard "the talk" from his dad.
Night Out - Pressure is brought to bear on Kevin and Winnie's relationship when they are invited to a notorious make-out party.
The Unnatural - When Kevin keeps making the cut for the school baseball team, he worries about whether it is because of his talent or because his dad saved the Coach's life in Korea.
Season 4
Growing Up - The family attends Jack's company picnic. Kevin is not looking forward to seeing Mimi Detweiler, who used to have a crush on him. Wayne's new girlfriend Angela annoys everyone but Wayne. Kevin beans Jack with a baseball at the father-son baseball game. Karen leaves for college.

Sixth Man - Kevin is worried that Paul will look foolish when he's drafted to the basketball team, but it appears that Paul is only at his worst when he plays Kevin.
Cutlip Christmas - Kevin discovers a soft-spot inside Cutlip when he sees him playing Santa Clause at a local mall.
Candidate - Kevin enters the race for student-council president, head-to-head with nemesis Becky Slater.

When Kevin tries to practice at night, he runs over the lawnmower - leading Jack to discover the truth about Kevin's license.
Private Butthead - While Kevin is asked to consider his future, Wayne makes a decision to leave school and join the army. Jack and Norma try to talk Wayne out of it, but he won't listen. Wayne and his friend Wart go together to the army testing station. Jack follows and apologises to Wayne for not being a better father to him.
Hero - Kevin is on a first-name basis with McKinley's High's basketball hero, Bobby Riddle. When the team makes it to the regional finals, Kevin's dad decides to attend the game and embarrasses Kevin by talking strategy with Paul and Chuck. Later, though, Kevin apologizes to his dad for how he treated him.
Lunch Stories - It's lunchtime at McKinley High and the cafeteria is full of life. Chuck spies a potential date. Ricky worries about an assignment he is yet to finish. Wayne tries to win $20 by finding out Maniac's first name. And Kevin is convinced by Winnie to donate blood.

Paul confides in Kevin, but his secret gets out the next day.

Season 6

Ricky decides to ask her to an upcoming dance anyway, but all his friends laugh at him - none of them realising how insensitive they are being.
Poker- Over a game of poker we learn some truths about Kevin's friends, including that Chuck thinks he's gotten Alice pregnant, that Randy is worried about failing trigonometry and that Paul and Kevin are drifting apart.
Summer PT 1 - It is summer and Kevin is working for his dad in the furniture factory. He is getting frustrated and wants to take off with Jeff and Chuck on a road-trip, but he can't. Winnie, what's more, is working away from town and Kevin wants to visit her - so he quits his job and leaves town. When he gets there though, he finds that he is not wanted and that Winnie has fallen for a lifeguard named Eric.
Independence Day PT 2- After Kevin loses all his money and his car in a poker game, he decides he has to leave the resort - there's nothing to keep him there now. In the end, the narrator tells us that Paul went on to study law at Harvard, that Karen has her baby and that he looks like Kevin, that Norma goes on to become a board chairman and that Wayne takes over the family furniture business after Jack passes away two years later.

It was on during my childhood, but I never really enjoyed it. I always found it, and the monologues, dull. In fact, I still don't like this show.

I agree with you.I loved the first 3 seasons when he was at RFK Jr High.I was glad to see it end when it did because it was cute in the beginning when he was a kid and doing things that screwed up his relationship with Winnie, but when he got into high school it got to be where it wasnt cute anymore, plus Paul was no longer on the show hardly anymore.

Freaks and Geeks was the show that I think depicted high school the best and was the one show that filled the void left by The Wonder Years. I hate that NBC didn't give Freaks and Geeks a chance. every time I see Average Joe, all the " reality " crap popping up on NBC, and bad ideas like the short lived Coupling, I say it's ashame that Freaks and Geeks got canned.

I feel no shame in admitting i cried when the series finale of the wonder years aired. It ended perfectly. And i was especially pleased that they didnt follow the cliche and have the guy end up with the girl next door. I loved how it ended with how she met him when he came back from france, with his wife and first son.

Well I only started watching "The Wonder Years" a few 'years' ago. I love the show though, and I enjoy watching the repeats on ABC family (they took it off of nick @ nite for some reason).
Fred Savage's series that Hartski was refering to was titled "Working" I haven't any pictures of 'Winnie' making her guest appearance, but I must say that was a funny episode. They kept making references about how she looked familiar. Dan Lauria also guest starred, I think he played a gay father figure.
So many shows have been released on DVD and it's a crime that this wonderful show has not. Fans of the show, please do me a favor if you haven't already and sign this online petition.
Thanks !

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but online petitions have, like, less than a 5% chance of working. Networks don't take them seriously since they can be signed over and over by the same person.
However, good luck! It's a great show. :)

I'm just telling the truth. Please, if y'all want it to be released so badly, go ahead and continue signing online petitions. I just have a feeling that they'll release The Wonder Years someday anyway, since MANY shows are.
One that does work is Amazon.com You can request to be notified whenever an item not yet being produced goes on sale. If there is enough interest the studios will respond. That's how Freaks and Geeks the complete series DVD just recently got released. So online petitions ( Amazon's ) do indeed work.
