The school year is about to end, and a young man named Brendan wants to keep the "Most Likely To"s in a museum of his own. Meanwhile, the Teagues take the Luthors hostage in their search for the stones.

I thought this was an interesting storyline. I really didn't like the way the wax eople looked though. Lana was not very attractive.
This episode got me ready for "House of Wax". (I don't remember which one came out first, the movie or the episode)

The Luthor/Teague scenes were the best part of this episode, and even then they weren't too great. Love how Jason falls off a cliff in this episode and then in the next episode he's still alive and running around. That gets me every time.
Plus this was the episode that inspired all sorts of "flowers in the attic" discussion in the Forever episode forum. :p Motherly warmth indeed.:p

I am probably in the minority here but I liked this episode. While the story is bad on the surface, I liked the character development. This episode is in the same category as Velocity for me. An underrated episode that has good character development.

I don't think this episode had any good character development. I didn't understand why Jason suddenly turned evil or why Clark would want to stay in Smallville when he could just superspeed back and forth from Metropolis.

I think this was a pretty good filler episode. I remember the last day of highschool (I'm having a milestone reunion soon), and how concerned I was to go out and face the world. I think the program demonstrated those kinds of feelings quite well, even with a House of Wax FOTW. It worked for me. My favorite episode? No. Not even on the top 40. But it was an enjoyable filler episode, and compared to a great deal of Season 4, that's not such a bad thing.

I don't think they should've gone with the wax power. It's just too unwieldly to believe that a teenager could build an mock repica of the school (which would've cost millions of dollars) and keep everybody there just by threatening to turn them into wax.

I thought this episode was quite enjoyable, although preposterous at times. The best parts were where we saw Chloe dismantling the Torch office and the gang leaving high school for the last time. Plus I loved the old Smallville High set so an episode that took place almost entirely there was a treat.
I saw it today during the ABC Family marathon and this episode was ok. I enjoyed the ending as well.

The movie came first. Months before this episode aired.

Yeah I agree that the Lex/Jason storyline was the best part. The wax figure ability was a bit too cheesy. Lex looked sexy in the scene where he grinned when Lionel said something funny, while he was rubbing his hands on the rope. I'm curious how Jason found out so much about Clark though

with that action and many others..Lionel's motives are unknown. However there are a few speculations that could determine a few possibilities: As we know now, Lionel has been "possessed" by Jor-EL and this could be him protecting Clark from Lex. Or Lionel is attempting to find out the secrets of Clark, the caves, etc. for himself as a self-interest act and will keep Lex from sharing the secret at all costs.

I remember watching this one. My brothers and I quinced in disgust when Haylie was beheaded and had her head and insides smached all over the floor. Was that edited on ABC Family? Truely one of the more stomach turning episodes.

I believe the latter as Lex's friendship with clark is preventing him to look further. Proven in 4.17 Onyx. and Lionel is preventing Johnathan toplant seeds of distrust to clark for his own interest.

What I didn't get about this episode was how Clark and Lana were suddenly best friends again!

Forever wasn't that great. I spent most of the episode bored. The only parts I really liked were Chloe closing the Torch (although I never understood that! Surely the school newspaper would live on? I know someone else would have to take over and Chloe would have to clean out all her stuff but it looks like she took everything but the kitchen sink! And she nevers even mentions turning the paper over to someone else!) and the talk between the three about leaving. Chloe's expression when she realizes she's leaving and Clark and Lana aren't....so painful.
I thought the wax thing was pretty unoriginal and badly thought out and it was also badly presented--effects wise.
So not an episode I liked a lot, no.

This episode was ok, I guess. Definetly not anywhere near the best. I loved the end though, with Chloe cleaning out the Torch and she and Clark and Lana walking away from the school. I hope I don't feel like that when I graduate.
again and restore their friendship the show doesn't need to elaborate on it.

Most dissapointing part of episode was when Lana didn't die. I had my hopes up. Don't know why Clark is going to a college closer to home. He can run to metropolis and back in like 10 mins.

I know, has he conveniently forgotten?
This episode was...weird. I laughed at the description, though I was creeped out by the Hailey's head thing. And of course I liked the very last scene when Chloe runs to catch up with Clark and Lana and Clark's wearing blue and Chloe's in red and she grabs Clark's arm, and for that second he was closer to Chloe than Lana.
Hate Clana, if you can't tell. Definite Chlarker, though I will grudgingly agree to Clois.

I know; Lana was a jerk to Clark the whole season.
I guess being "parents" in Ageless was supposed to have reconciled them.
Regarding Lionel's motive for killing Jason, it can't have been Jor-El possession because that didn't happen until the season finale when the stone was activated in Lionel's pocket.
And Lana's reason for not going to college was so stupid I had to think maybe it was Isobel's influence on her or something. Besides, college decisions have to be finalized by May 1 at most schools, whereas the last day of school is generally a good while after that, so this seems a little late for Lana and Clark to be reaching their decisions.
I did like Lionel and Lex teaming up to escape the Teagues. The insinuations about Jason and his mom I didn't even pick up on until reading it on boards. Creepy.

What did I think of Forever? I liked Forever for 3 reasons.
1) Favorite Clark moment of the episode;
2) Favorite lines/quotes from the episode Forever;
3) Funniest moment of the episode.
1) Favorite quotes/lines from Forever:
Favorite Jonathan Kent line: "Clark, your destiny lies far beyond those cornfields out there, and I'm not about to let you turn your back on that just because of us. Now, I've got a farm to run."
Favorite Clark Kent line: "Suddenly, all those tests and teachers we hated seem a lot less scary than the big question mark that's hanging out there."
Favorite Chloe Sullivan line: "You know, not to go all "psycho-sympathizer" on you guys, but I can't blame Brendan for wanting to keep everybody together. Although, after that little lock-in I can't think of anything scarier than being stuck in the past and not moving on."
Favorite Genevieve Teague line: "Has she ever shown any gratitude? Lana has no idea how much you've been protecting her, and for what? For her to choose Clark over you? You know I would never betray you the way she has."
Favorite Jason Teague line: "You don't believe that. Clark's more connected to this than any of us. You just choose to ignore it. I mean, think about it. The symbols burned into the Kent barn. The fields."
2) Funniest moment of the episode:
Well, this isn't really funny, but it made me think that I wish I played this girl's part, because she went up to Clark Kent (Tom Welling) and asked him to sign her yearbook. It makes me wish that I were in her shoes. Don't you agree? (Who wouldn't want to ask Clark Kent/Tom Welling for his autograph). Sigh.
Girl: Um, Clark? Could you sign my yearbook?
Clark: Yeah.
Another funny moment are 2 grownups fighting with one another and insulting each other: Lionel Luthor and Genevieve Teague. I thought that this, too, was a funny moment. Adults insulting one another like teenagers.
Lionel: " I wouldn't underestimate her, Genevieve. And don't forget, Lana Lang's ancestors pledged that she would revenge your family."
Genevieve: "I would leave folklore in the past if I were you, Lionel. My ancestors burned traitors at the stake. Let's hope you're not one of them."
3) Favoite moments of the episode. I have 2 favorite moments of the episode. One is Lionel & Lex Luthor; the other one is Clark & Lana.
1) Lex: Makes us look like the Waltons, doesn't it?
Lionel: I'm sorry, Lex, I got you involved in all this. You may not believe me, but I truly wish I were here alone.
Lex: To be honest Dad, I'm glad you're here with me. Now knock that iron out of the fire and get it close to my chair as you can.
(It's great to see them talking nicely to one another, instead of fighting and insulting one another. I wish we had more of these Lex Luthor & Lionel Luthor moments. Don't you agree?)
2) (I love the Clark & Lana moments. This is my favorite moment in the episode Forever, even though I hate to say this, Forever was not one of my favorite episodes).
Lana: What do you think?
Clark: I think it's finally starting to hit me. It's really over, isn't it? You know I remember walking through those doors the first day of freshman year.
Lana: Actually, I think you tripped.
Clark: Well I couldn't help it, you made me nervous.
Lana: It was cute. Who knew you'd turn into this big high school football star?
Clark: Former football star, who’s gotten used to seeing you every morning at the lockers. But I guess that's all gonna change now that you're going off to college.
Lana: Well, I don't know if I'm gonna go.
Clark: Really? I mean, what do you mean? You're the one that's always dreamt of leaving this town, ever since you were a little girl.
Lana: I know, it's just that right now I feel I’d be making that decision because it's what everyone expects us to do. If I go, I want to make that choice for the right reasons.
Clark: So you're staying in Smallville?
Lana: I don't know. I think it would be really hard with all of you guys gone.
Clark: Well not all of us will be gone. I'm thinking of commuting to Central Kansas.
Lana: Then maybe I won't have to spend any more time trying to figure out how to say goodbye.

Just before Lionel shot Jason and he fell off the cliff Jason was going on about Clark being "more connected to this than anyone". What if Jason worked out that Clark was the traveller. That would explain why he went to the Kent house during the meteor shower and held the Kents at gunpoint.

Hey, you know you do have a point there. The teagues were close so I'm sure Jason knew all about Veritas. I don't think he knew he was the traveler but I believe he had a big hunch that he was. Too many things involving the stones and the crop circles happened around Clark.
He had a hunch he was the traveler but I think he mostly wanted Clark because he thought Clark would know where all the stones are. He was probably thinking I can kill two birds with one stone!

A good episode but not actually one of my favourites. I guess it was all about letting go of one era and on to the next era of smallville. Again a strange episode with the whole struggling to let go high school thing. It was somewhat creepy and funny at same time watching people getting frozen and trapped in one place. The frozen bodies looked funny actually, creepy when their bodies are broken like glass.
Lionel and ofcourse Lex were great playing the hostage role. There was some good in Lex today since afterall he did end up being the one that was protecting Lana even though he's apparently had feelings for her for a very long time. Why did Lionel shoot Jason? I dont think he was trying to kill Lex as Lionel put it when he was in a weaker position on the edge of a cliff. Lex had that look of have I yet again missed out on some information about Clark's secret? What exactly does Jason know? Was Lionel trying to prevent Lex from knowing the truth to protect clark or for his own greedy purposes?
Lex is choosing to "ignore" some of the mystery that surrounds Clark as Jason put it to him. I think deep down he knows it but is not in a position or mindset just yet to do something drastic that could reveal clark's secret. Maybe Lex is choosing to avoid it because he's trying to be a good friend to clark and protect him. But the more Clark seems to show distrust and lies to Lex especially about the stones and symbols on cave wall, an apparently frustrated Lex will be getting closer to choosing to pursue the truth and that's going to be risk to his friendship with clark as we learn in later episodes the repercussions of such dark actions.
I particularly like the end scene with Jonathan and Clark..showing some family love and caring for one another.
Overall good episode especially with the whole hostage situation and how the luthors managed to escape..that was exciting to watch. Afterall, Luthors are "survivors".

I just can't get why the girl's knock out wax-freak and then after that, they don't tie him up or anything. Hello it's obvious that he's just going after you later if you keep him lying there, it's really a typical movie thing just to prolong the tension

Ehhhhhh.... this episode was okay. It featured a lot of Chloe, which I liked, of course. The plotline stretched the boundaries of believability, I think. How much money would it have cost Brendan's father to have created that entire recreation of the school hallway, the Torch, etc.? And didn't he think somebody would eventually make the connection as to which people were kidnapped? He couldn't hold them there forever... On top of all that, when Lana clocked Brendan over the head with the drawer, why didn't they go ahead and hit him a few more times, or locked him in the Torch, just to be sure he didn't have a chance to come after them again? And how did he get outside ahead of them? So many confusing moments... The dude was creepy, though, and so were his powers. That part with Haley's head was a major gross-out factor, and so was Brendan's death scene at the end. The brighter moments were the touching part where Chloe closed the Torch, and the conversation she had with Clark and Lana as they walked away from Smallville High, and Chloe grabbed his arm. Cute.

Weak plot. A guy attempts to avoid having to go forward in life, by having a replica of the school built and kidnapping the "most likely" students, really?!!
I question the logic behind the school replica. Would've cost a lot of money, not to mention people building it. Who would've asked questions about why someone would wanna build this thing, then go home and talk about the construction (in a small town, it wouldn't have stayed a secret for very long). And would've taken a while to build, so Brendan would've had to have known a long time ago, that he wasn't going to be accepted to any College he's applied too, to have the time to first cook up this idea, force his dad to agree to build it and then time to construct it (building it, in secret, would've prolonged construction).
And what would've stopped him from re-applying next year? Work for one year (America is after all a country, where education costs money, so he could spend that year to earn some extra money, to help pay for College), then try to get into College. But, instead he jumps to the conclusion that after the last day of High School, his life is over and he's gonna have to work in a video store, for the rest of his life.
And would he really be able to hold them all there? We'd be talking like seven people, against one guy. Even without Clark's powers, they could've taken him out, as Brendan had to touch you to wax you. If they'd hit him with chairs or something, he wouldn't be able to touch them. Even if all they could do is hit and kick him, they'd still be able to take him out, before he manages to wax them all. After which, they'd just have to tie him up, leave and call the cops.
