I loved Sacred. One of the few season 4 episodes that I ever bother rewatching.

I didn't understand why Isobel came back for the stones when the first time they burned her hand. Also, how did she learn those kung fu moves.

I loved the first 5 minutes, and the last 5. The nod to Reeve was absolutely wonderful. Everything else, I could skip. If Isobel wasn't in there, and it was just a good old fashioned search and steal episode with Indiana Lex and Clark, it would have been great.

Couldn't stand the Isobel storyline. Far too inconsistent. I rolled my eyes during most of this episode.

It was an interesting episode,I also liked the tribute to
the late Christopher Superman Reeve.

By the way, where was this episode filmed? Was it really filmed in China or in some USA Chinatown?

Allison Mack and Erica Durance doesnt appear in this episode...

It was filmed in the U.S. That's why you only see one street in China.

Did you notice, towards the end of the episode, clark looks at his emails... he has received at least 3 emails from lois!

I didn't think the two of them would want to email each other; they aren't the closest of friends, and besides they live in the same house. But there it is, on the screen. You gotta love the attention to detail the sv writers put in, though. You hardly ever see live action shows where you need to pause the ep to discover some little 'reward' like that.

I can imagine her sending those evil type of emails. Some people will know what I am talking about. Joke pictures and such. Lois and Clark have shown time and time again they are friends and have admited to it to each other.

When the Chinese soldiers came to take Lex and Johnathan they were shouting:
"Dont go!","Don't run!","Stand still!","out of the away!","Don't move!", "If you move I'll kill you!","I'll kill you, if you move!","stupid!","Kill!","we will kill you!","kill them!","drive the car!","told you not to go!","i will kill you!".

The writing on the wall in the Jail is:
(water)
Moon
(fire?)
Trust
(???)

As the Guards were taking Lex out.
"Don't move","stand still","get up","your going with me","quickly walk","don't let him play dead","you'll pay the price". For a while there i tought they saying to Lex you have nice hair. "go!","quickly walk or i'll hit you."

Lana(dorathy): "were not in kansas anymore"
Biker passed lana: "move away" or "out of the way" I was told this kind of behavior is RARE in china.

Dired Mushrooms sigh before the green rooster.

nice smoking gun effect "go!"

Clark's capture "Come with me"

Temple characters: Grace,Clean,English,and,God.

How in the hell could lana get a good robe like that in prizon?

The Deleted Scene is Good!

Lana-Fu the akward.

Well, this episode was sorta silly to my mind. First of all, they flip flopped Jason so much I honestly didn't know if I should be on his side or against him (and that was just in this episode!). Clark had some great stuff where he finally really begins to 'realize his destiny' and all that.
Anyone else get deja vu in the torture scene seeing as how it was pretty much the same one from Lethal Weapon (1 0r 2, can't remember which but the one with Gary Busey)?
And the whole fight scene was so 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' that I wondered if Ang Lee didn't sue!
Not a good episode in my mind save the Clark stuff.

It was about this point in the season, maybe a little ealier, that i was thinking, wow, smallville is kinda wasting my time. and i had NEVER thought that about smallville before! that goes to show how dissapointing the 4th season was, that and that fact that the majority of the threads in the 4th season section have atleast 2 people saying that the particular episode is the worst episode ever. season 4 just had a lot of those.

So I'm rewatching all the seasons again and I'm at this episode. Lets just say I'm thankful that this episode is over. What a terrible episode, not the worst, but man its crappy.

I liked the episode. It was nice seeing different surroundings for a change, instead of always the farm, talon, etc.
Though I agree it was inconsistent. I was ended up a little confused. Firstly, how did Lana turn into Isabel? What caused the change? The way I saw it when Lana was caught (shook.); the change occured but I would have thought there would be more to it. I liked seeing Isabel and Clark fight lol. I think the moves with the swords were cool.
It was good how there was more clana interaction in this episode. Clark understanding how lana feels in keeping a secret, then clark telling lana it's wried looking at her after fighting Isabel were the highlights, I thought. I noticed in season 4 clark and chloe are more close; and lana and clark seem more distant.

it only pierced Clark's skin because of Isobel's magic, so once she was gone again I'd say it healed like anything else that happens to Clark

Come ooooooon!!!!!
I just can't stand and say nothing about how they made "China"look like in this ep........I mean it really degraded China, justifiably speaking.....

I used to live there for business. It was pretty not like what it was made in this ep although it was not Shanghai, Beijing, the capital city, Shenzheng, Hongkong, Xi'an and somewhere else we may tell when it comes to China. It was a nice place to live and had fun anyway....

PS. People there were nice and kind to each other and me, as far as I can telll....

China is on the way to be a better nation, as I believe and everybody sees. I can't believe THEY put some so-called Chinese police officers and somekind of guards the way like they used to be back in late 20th century in THEN China. Cooooooom ooooon...........It was so Last Year!!!

Everybody moves on. And so does China....

I'm not here to ask for fight but a clear pic about the TRUE China.........

Any comments?

Loved it there.

What Did I think of Sacred? There are only 3 reasons why I liked Sacred.

1) Favorite Lines/Quotes of the episode Sacred;

2) Funniest moment of the episode;

3) Favorite Moments or Scenes of the episode;

1) Favorite Clark Kent line:

Lex (to Clark): Clark, how did you just stumble on this when my father had this place searched from top to bottom?

Clark: What do you want me to say, Lex? It's obviously been here a long time.

Favorite Lana Lang lines:

Lana (to Jason): You are a resilient lad, aren't you? So earnest, and yet so tragically doomed to pay for the sins of your ancestors.

Lana (to Lex): And you, greedy boy, I can only imagine what mischief you would cause were you to unite the stones of knowledge. Too bad that neither of you could see what was right in front of you all along. It was never a map.

Best Lex Luthor quote: "Even though being pistol-whipped wasn't exactly my idea of fun, I have to admit, it's good to have the old dad back."

2) Funniest Moment of the episode Sacred:

There's only 1 part that I thought was the funniest moment of the episode Sacred.

Clark (to Lana): Seeing you speak Latin and throw those guys around like tooth picks is kind of weird. And even when Isobel's gone sometimes I look at you, and there's a part of you that I don't recognize anymore.

Lana starts to burst out laughing.

Clark: What?

Lana (still laughing): I'm sorry. It's just that... Do you know how funny that sounds coming from you? Somehow, I think the only way that I'm going to put Isobel and all of -- all of this stuff behind me is if I find all 3 of those stones.

Clark: I'm sure they'll end up in the right hands.

3) Favorite Moments of the Episode:

There are only 2 favorite moments of the episode, Sacred that I like. The first one is Clark & Jor-El; the second one is Lionel & Lex Luthor scene/moment.

1) Clark & Jor-El Moment:

Jor-El: I knew you would return, my son.

Clark: Why did you send me to find this?

Jor-El: Because you may be the last survivor of a great civilization.

Clark: A great civilization that destroyed itself!

Jor-El: As will yours, if you continue to refuse your mission. The knowledge of our civilization was encoded in 3 stones brought to earth and hidden at the far reaches of the world. Greed will drive others to hunt the stones. But if the humans should unite them before you, they will not be able to withstand the temptation and will drive the world to famine, war, and the earth's ultimate destruction. You must find the other 2 stones. The fate of the world lies in your hands, Kal-El.

2) Lionel and Lex Luthor Moment:

(I loved this scene, because John Glover amazed me with his lines, wisdom to his son, and very good acting. This is why this scene was one of my favorite scenes, because of John Glover. I only wished that Lex Luthor would listen to his father).

Lionel: Lex, what happened?

Lex: Even though getting pistol-whipped wan't exactly my idea of having fun, I have to admit, it's good to have the old dad back.

Lionel: No, I had nothing to do with what happened to you in China, son. I have abandoned my search for the stones.

Lex: Come on, dad, you stole copies of my map and gave them to Lana and Jason. You used them.

Lionel: No, Lex. It was you who was using them. And you'll do far worse to find those stones. You have a ferocious desire to find all the answers, son, but don't let your search for those stones turn into your personal tower of babel.

Lex: I'm not trying to get closer to God, dad. I'm just trying to solve all the riddles he's laid out for me.

Lionel: Did you ever think there might be a reason why we weren't given the answers?

Lex: To challenge us?

Lionel: Or maybe to humble us. Knowledge comes from finding the answers, yes, but understanding what the answers mean is what brings wisdom. Men who didn't understand the difference have been the ruin of some of the world's greatest civilizations.

Lex: Is that why you stopped looking for the stones? Because you're afraid?

Lionel (chuckes): No. No, I stopped because I realized that even if I find the 3 stones, I'm not gonna find whatI'm really looking for. Neither will you.

it was fun seeing an 'exotic' location away from the farm. the only reason i liked the whole stones arc was because we got some random storylines that broke away from the ordinary FOTW or other typical high school stuff. wasn't the best episode but it was fun.

Hey all, I've not been here in ages, but anyway...

I have been rewatching my Smallville DVDs and surprised I never questioned it before, but how is it that Kryptonite was there presumably before Krypton exploded? It didn't exist before then.

Then, how would Clark be expected to get that fragment of the stone from there? The whole stone story was ok but too many holes in the storyline. All those stone fragments were put there for Clark so many years ago. Yeah, right. I don't buy it.

Good questions, I was wondering about that, too.

Even Martha is asking Clark a similar question, like "why was kryptonite there, when that stone was supposed to be for you?" or something like that. But noone had an answer for that question.

But actually the question should be, how does it come, that there could have been kryptonite at all, as kryptonite is a part of the exploded krypton, which obviously hasn't exploded soooo much time ago, has it????

I'm afraid, this will remain an everlasting mistery of Smallville :\

That is a good question. Why was there kryptonite in that chamber? We all know jor-el came to earth but as we found out in season 7 "lara" they used portals to go back and forth from earth to krypton. But then again I don't remember that episode when jor-el came to earth? did he come by spaceship?

I think it has something to do with the god of the temple they kept mentioning in the episode. Maybe Kryptonians visited earth way before clark or jor-el came.

I used to watch all those shows minus firefly......Tho i watched buffy because i liked the whole buffy & angel relationship but when he left and the show angel came about, I completely stopped watching buffy. I loved roswell as well.....but I left that show for smallville =)

Anyway, Sacred was a solid epsiode in my book, I don't know but lana in that outfit in china when she fought clark.....I gotta admit she looked kinda cool with her fighting moves and all....

Tho I still get disappointed that clark didn't dodge that dagger!

Do you remember "Relic" (season 3)? The drifter was Jor-El, but how he came to earth wasn't mentioned.

I loved this episode. The fact that the whole episode is about myths is great !
And the effects were awesome...
10/10 :)
Oh yeah, one of the rare episodes without Chloe. Kinda cool. I had to take a break.
I hope she's in episode 16.

Lana: " Who ever thought the people I end up trusting is Lionel and...you"

 That right there is a diss. And Clark just shrugged it off.

This episode was ok. I guess. I give it a 7.5. When Clark open up his email and I saw that he as two from Lois Lane I thought that was cute. I wonder what she said.

I really did enjoy this episode. I agree with what others have said about how nice it was to see a setting that was outside of Smallville and Metropolis (outside the United States, even). The Temple was really cool, as were the streets of Shanghai to a lesser extent. I liked Dr. Sen, and was pretty shocked that they killed her off so quickly. Was that head guard who was torturing Lex the same guy who headed up the team that was bugging Lionel's office in "Insurgence" and then got shot by Pine? This is probably the least annoying episode to me that's focused on the "Stones of Knowledge" plot, other than the amazing "Commencement," of course. The one drawback for me was no Chloe. :p I give it 9 out of 10 secret temple chambers for awesome action, great effects, good suspense, and a surprising ending! :)
