Luthorcorp animal testing gives two dogs power far beyond those of usual canines. What happens when Lois brings one home with her?

I liked that they named him 'Shelby' at the end. It's a nice nod to Jeph Loeb's comic run, 'Superman: For All Seasons,' that features 'Shelby' as an old hound on the Kent farm. And I'm a sucker for puppies. So, yeah, liked it a lot!

I didn't know that ~ cool! :)
I also liked this episode a lot. I really liked that Lois was allergic etc and Clark finding that so very amusing :D Cute episode I thought!

I must admit that I cringe to think that the other dog was killed in the van fire.

Shelby saved the other dog didnt he? My mind is fuzzy on this episode though I did see it recently.
Yah know I was so mad (ok I dont know why but when I rewatched this scene on dvd a actually bust out laughing because dang Bo is not a lucky man at all) that the dog atacked Jonathan but then I felt so bad for him when he was trapped in the burning van.

I kind of wished we saw the real Krypto. It would've been cool to see a super Lassie.

Lois was very useless in this episode. I didn't see the point of having her in the first place.

Oh no! I thought Lois was really funny in the episode. For me, the point of having her in was the fantastic Clois comedy. I mean, the whole "Chlarkie" business - gotta love it.

This was an average episode. Some parts were good, I liked the Lex and Clark exchange about the name Krypto, wonder if he remembers this later in season five when his father says Krypton? Lois and Clarks arguments over the dog's name was cute as well, and the final battle scene was OK but I was annoyed Green K was used yet again. How convenient. The dog crashing the dinner table was also cute.

Really unhappy with this episode, thought it was a let down TPTB should of steered clear of this and maybe filled the time with some more intresting "3 stone plot".
Although they do need to involve all areas of superman and krypto is a big part of the DC comic and cartoon base. So suppose they did it the best they could.

I beleived Krypto should have kept his super strength and maybe had super speed too.
I think her premiums just went up.
Didn't Genevieve offered to reveal a secret about the release of his father in 4.12 Pariah? what ever happened to that?
i'm going to guess on a LexGen relation cause of oedipal theme and the deleted scene in 4.10 Scare.
Nice on how Lex try to trap clark thinking Krypto is the Kawachi(kryptonian) name for friend.
So Krypto is not the dog's name but Shelby?
TPTB = ?????
Deleted Scene: LioGen explains alot.
Plot hole: how come no mention of lionel visiting the prisoners?

This episode made me smile the whole time I was watching it! I loved the interactions between Krypto and Clark (you could totally tell Welling has dogs himself!). That puppy got all the best scenes though.
And oddly, I thought the Clois was pretty good this episode. Lois was her usual annoying self but she also got in some good lines "You are so weird sometimes."
And it was kinda scary how well they worked as a team at the animal place.
Cute episode! Liked it a lot. :D

I agree with OutlawAngel. Poor Jonathan just couldn't get a break. It seems that there was always someone ready to beat the crap out of him, he had a heart attack, then in this particular episode, Shelby eats his T-bone steak then he gets attacked by another dog.

 a stuffed animal with...fur...named Lex? Isn't that a bit of a misnomer? I mean, lex doesn't have hair.
To each their own, though.

I found this episode light, not as dark as the others and I don't mind that. It was nice seeing clark and lois together- seeing their relationship is quite entertaining! It was nice seeing a pet in the kent household.

I watched krypto again today. It's like nearly the 8th times since the ep came out. I put krypto in my top 5 season 4.
It's like a comedy ep...those clark/lois banter...chloe trying to help cover clark @ one point(hilarious):D..the dog itself(cute). It also has the seriousness...the evil team manipulating, tricking each other in search of the stones (lex,genevieve,lionel,jason...err..lana...altho she's not evil but she's sucked into the loop..but hey..she is isabel subconciously anyway).
The fotw ain't a human this time! Also, there's TC & it lasted more than 2 mins(hehe). And in this ep, our angsty clark smiles...A LOT! It's nice to see that cute, infectious grin 24/7.Hey.Enough said.I like this ep BIG TIME.:D

I just re-watched this ep, actually I've been watching a lot of Season 4 & 5 eps.
Anyway, I think this is where there's 2 glaring errors. Don't know if it was talked about originally, but...
When Lois first stops after hitting Shelby/Einstein and gets out of her SUV (at night) there's no tail lights lit, then in the next scene where she's attending the dog, the tail lights are on.
And I think it's also in this one where she and Clark are driving in the SUV. One moment we see a red "GMC" logo on the front, the next there's a black rectangle where the logo was. Whooa, don't the producers, uh proof read this stuff? :)

What did I think of Krypto? I think it's great that Clark has a pet for a friend and companion. For instance, the dog can find out about Clark Kent's secret, and not tell anyone. Since Clark lost Pete, he's been lonely without a male friend. Now he has Shelby around. For instance, if Clark doesn't want to take a walk by himself, he could take the dog for a walk.
The second reason I loved watching Krypto was Lois and Clark's sense of humor. Tom & Erica have good chemistry and you can tell that they seem to get along with one another. I just love their sense of humor:
Lois: Aaachoo!
Clark (smiling at Lois): Actually, it might be fun to have a dog around.
Jonathan: Where did you say you found him? (Shelby).
Lois: Actually, I kind of hit him.
Clark: With your car?
Lois: No, with my fist!
Clark: Go left.
Lois: What is this? One of your famous hunches, or are we going in a little scenic route?
The third reason I love about the episode Krypto was the Chloe & Clark scene. Chloe asks Clark how Lois is. Clark answers, "She re-recorded our answering machine, she uses up all the hot water in the house, oh, and she's taken over my bedroom. Lois is doing great!" Then Chloe asks Clark, "How are you?" Clark answers, "Well, it's kind of hard to be myself with Lois around." Chloe cleverly answers, "Well, now you have Shelby. You can be yourself around him. And I'm always around."
I also liked the speech Clark gave Jonathan Kent when Jonathan was hesitant about adopting Shelby. Here's one of Clark Kent's best speeches:
Clark: "Dad, when you and mom saw a super-powered boy in a cornfield, you didn't give up on me just because I might be dangerous. You raised me. You gave me a chance. He's a good dog, Dad. Someone's using him to do bad things. We should give him a chance."

I like Krypto. I has some nice Clark/Lois scenes as well as Martha/Jonathan. I love dogs and this episode showed Einstein/Shelby throughout the whole thing which was great for me.
