Clark's blood cells seem to be bringing dead people back to life... first with Adam, and now with the brother of a young man named Garrett (James Kirk as Garrett).

well, this is reallly heartbreaking to see this. I just saw the scene where Jonathan had to have a triple bypass surgery and he tells Martha that she has to promise him that when Clark is ready, she has to let him go. Her response is kind of ironic now. 'and you will be standing right beside me'. Yeah in spirit I thought.
Really heartbreaking.

This is one of my least favorite episodes. The only episode I disliked more was Ageless. This episode just flat out stunk. Garret was a boring character, and I disliked how they made it seem like he was a semi-regular. Also, another thing that bugged the crap out of me, is that the episode focuses on the syrum that was Lionel's creation, yet John Glover did not star in the episode. Not to mention that the Kryptonite bomb situation was taken care of way too easily, and there was another pointless Clana ending.
Just a terrible episode in my opinion.

I dont see how that blanket could of kept the Kryptonite from affecting Clark but oh well whatever its not like I expect things to make sense on this show anyway

It was a lead blanket. Clark got the blanket from the X-Ray lab. You probably know this already, but when you get an X-Ray they cover you with lead to block the radiation the machine puts off.
In Smallville they have established that lead prevents Clark from seeing through things with X-Ray vision, and it blocks the effect of Kryptonite.

Oh ok I didnt put 2 and 2 together that it was a lead blanket. And suddenly something on Smallville makes sense to me
Its awesome!!!

if the bomb was that easy to get rid of why didn't Clark just do that in the beginning instead of waiting until AFTER Garrett was shot.

I agree with you! Just so sad. Makes me want to cry all over again-"Why did he have to die?".

(I know-I know-he had to die, so don't start any flaming war)

And if Clark is still able to be around kryptonite with a lead suit, why doesn't he just wear lead gloves all the time so he can just move the kryptonite whenever he comes in contact with it.

or he could have a lead handkerchief or something .
anyway i thought this garret character was just so boring and overall this episode wasn't very good, it's episodes like this and velocity that let the great season 3 down.

I didn't care much for this episode but hte stuff with Jonathan was good, if sad. What I don't understand though is why Clark didn't even try to save Adam. I mean, I guess he couldn't have sped out of there with Lana watching but they couldn't have at least called 911 or something?
Also, I was pretty shocked to find out that Adam was working for Lionel (although I should have known).
But mostly a throwaway eppy.

I agree with most of you here.
Worst episode ever :(

Wow. Vince was played by the same guy who played Wes Keenan in Season 6's "Prototype".

Resurrection:
What I like about Resurrection are the Jonathan & Clark scenes. These are my favorite parts of Resurrection:
1) Jonathan: Hi, Clark. Look, I'm, uh, sorry to hear about your friend Garrett. How's he holding up?
Clark: He's in shock. I guess that's what happens when the most important person in your life is gone. I know about the surgery.
Jonathan: Can you believe it? I'm so popular around here, they want me to be admitted right away.
Clark: So you're gonna do it.
Jonathan: It's not quite that cut and dried, Clark. There must be a way around this.
Clark: No, I heard the doctor. It didn't sound like that.
Jonathan: I thought you and I talked about eavesdropping on people's private conversations.
Clark: If you'd stop trying to protect me from this, I wouldn't have to. Dad, I see Garrett out there, and he's lost. Just like I'd be without you. Please do this.
Jonathan: Clark, I want you to go out there and tell your mother to start filling out all the admissions paper work. Go on.
Jonathan: And Clark? Don't worry about me, son. I'm not going anywhere.
2) Clark: How's Dad doing?
Jonathan: I feel like I'm being prepped for a Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm the turkey.
Clark: You'll have a good scar to brag about.
Martha: Clark, what's happening with Garrett's brother?
Clark: He's going downhill fast, and the doctors, they don't know what to do. But he mentioned this lab in Metropolis. If I could find it, maybe I could figure out what cured him.
Jonathan: You need to go help your friend, Clark.
Clark: No, Dad, I'm not leaving you.
Jonathan: Clark, I'm in very capable hands here, and... honestly, you're not very good at sitting on the sidelines.
Martha: Garrett and Vince need you, Clark.
Clark: Yeah, but--
Jonathan: Son, if there is any chance that you could save your friend's life, then that's what you need to do.
Clark gets very serious, sentimental.
Clark: Dad, I want you to know...
Jonathan: I do know, Clark. And I love you too. Now go on. Help your friend.
3) Jonathan: Hey, Clark, it's all right, son. The doctor says that the worst of this is behind me. Hey, Clark? What's bothering you, son?
Clark: When I went to pick up the vial for Vince, Lex was there. He was talking to one of the scientists. From their conversation, it sounds like Lionel Luthor is behind all of it.
Jonathan: Now, why doesn't that surprise me?
Clark: Dad, when that serum got close to the kryptonite bomb, it reacted the same way as my blood.
Martha: So you're saying the serum...
Clark: I know. It sounds crazy, but I think that Lionel Luthor has found a way to use my blood to bring people back to life.
Clark: If my blood can save lives, maybe I should come forward. What if there's something inside me that can repair dad's heart permanently?
Jonathan: Clark, your mother and I both know that you are gonna save a lot of lives in this world, even more than you have any idea.
Clark: The only life I'm interested in saving is yours.
Jonathan: You do. You save my life every day that you're with us. And we wouldn't trade that for a single moment without you.

Blehhhhh... This was undoubtedly one of the most boring and pointless episodes of this season, and of Smallville, EVER. Yeah, I guess it did progress the Adam Knight/Clark's blood storyline a little bit, and the Clark/Jonathan father/son scenes, as other posters have pointed out, were magnificent, but other than those elements, this episode was ridiculous, goofy, and definitely not my favorite. Garrett was a highly annoying character, too, even before he strapped on the kryptonite bomb jacket.

When I see people rave about S3, I just don't get it at times, It just seemed to be alot of subpar episodes like this(you can add Magnetic, Relic, Velocity, Forsaken, Slumber, Hereafter and Crisis to that list). When you add the fact I hated Exile, you left with a bunch of average episodes, with 2-3 really good ones

I guess that, for me at least, Season 3 was the season when the show "grew up" but hadn't yet gotten particularly trashy or TOO violent, while still being a little darker (in a good way). I liked the overall Lionel Luthor villainy arc of the season, and honestly, the Adam Knight storyline was pretty good for me, especially in "Crisis." Also, "Hereafter" is one of my favorite episodes of the season, so I don't quite agree with it being subpar, though the others, I can see your point on.

the Adam Knight storyline was pretty good for me
The whole Adam Knight storyline was ok enough to start off(nothing good but nothing terrible either), but then it just seemed like they cut it short and came up with some quick resolution that made me go what the hell(it was like they decided it wasn't working and got rid of it, and then decided to go with the Lana wants to go Paris for 5-6 episode arc, only to actually show her in Paris for 5 minutes). When I come up with my lists of stuff I didn't care for in S3 Adam Knight would be on that list.
Also, "Hereafter" is one of my favorite episodes of the season, so I don't quite agree with it being subpar.
Hereafter to me was a cheap way to try recreate Hourglass which was a much better episode. To me this one of those episodes that basically took a S1 type plot but didn't have the charm of S1 episodes when it came to personal relationships scenes at the end of the episode(which knocks it down in my books a bit)

Yeah, admittedly they did seem to rush things a bit at the tail end of Adam's storyline. Honestly, I thought at first (and wished throughout that arc) that he was actually Bruce Wayne. But oh well... As for "Hereafter," I liked it for two important reasons. One was that I've always enjoyed episodes in which Clark displays an inspirational, big brotherly role to another character, whether it's Ryan James, Maddie Van Horn, or (in this case) Jordan Cross. I also liked the view of the cape and Jordan's statement about Clark's destiny.

I laughed good at the "I feel like I'm being prepped for a Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm the turkey" line lol
Not the best episode, but I loved the father son moments. The crazy kid kinda sucked though and when he wanted to sacrefice Jonathan for his brother I actually gaped like an idiot. I'm not surprised Clark didn't try to save the stupid kid when he was shot. Selfish shithole! :P
