Thanks to a Kryptonite explosion, Lana is given the ability to see through the eyes of a very bad guy. Meanwhile, Roger Nixon is inching closer to the Kents...

i love storylines where people see through the eyes of a killer. it was great in X-files and it is great on smallville. This is one of the top five this season. I love it.

The song is called "No Such Thing" and it was John Mayer's first big hit. Coincidentally, it's the only John Mayer song I like.

I watched the horses and I felt so bad for them, they bumped heads. They must have hit hard because I could hear their heads hit.:( I guess that shows that even the animals work just as hard as the actors.;)

it also means they can't put "no animals were harmed in the taping of Smallville" anywhere

Nice episode, where the FOTW is Lana...and the whole Chlark story gets deeper. I think it's really nice the way Clark was all worry about Chloe :)
Plus, here's where the ship key is found by Lex and kinda when the mythos and all the krypto stories begins.

Aside from the Chlark moments and the discovery of the key, I didn't like that episode.
The episode would've been better if it was someone else who had the power to see through the eyes of the killer. Lana getting that power just seemed random... like they wanted to give her screen time and it was the only way to fit it in the episode.

I was just watching this and I caught something interesting. Early on in the ep. Chloe is going to Metropolis for an interview at the Daily Planet for a summer internship. She tells Clark that she's crashing at her cousin's dorm. However in season four when Lois is Introduced she has only just graduated high school(except that she didn't finish all her classes), so she wouldn't be in college yet. And I'm not sure but I believe Lucy Lane was younger then Lois, so who is this mysterious cousin we've never seen?

What did I think of Obscura?
What I liked about this show most of all are the Clark & Chloe moments and scenes. This was more of a Chloe & Clark episode, with some Lana in it (about Lana seeing through the eyes of a killer named Deputy Watts). He kidnaps Chloe and Lana finds out where Choe is from her visions of Chloe Sullivan. Lana was hit by an explosion in a field (where the Kents found little Clark Kent & his space ship). Because of the green meteor rocks, Lana's able to see Chloe and tells Clark where she is (in a large field that has a great big windmill in it). Clark knows where the big windmill is, and is able to find Chloe. He pulls her out of the ground where she was buried. Then towards the end, Clark Kent asks Chloe Sullivan if he can take her to the Spring Formal Dance as his date. Chloe smiles at Clark and says "yes" to Clark. Chloe tells Clark, "It was worth the wait."
1) Clark, Jonathan & Martha Kent:
Here is the scene where Martha, Clark & Jonathan are talking. Jonathan asks Clark to help him get the trap out of there. Clark says, "Sure, Dad." Martha begs Clark to ask Chloe to the Spring Formal Dance. Jonathan tells Martha to stay out of it. Then Martha says to Clark, "Are you planning on asking Chloe or not?" Jonathan butts in, "She just can't help herself." This is funny, but a very great scene.
Clark: I don't think the whole tux and limo thing is for me. Besides, it's customary to have a date to a dance.
Martha: Which is why it's customary to ask someone.
Jonathan: Martha, stay out of it. Son, can you see if you can get that trap out of there for me?
Clark: Uh, sure, Dad.
Jonathan: Thank you.
Martha: So, are you planning on asking Chloe or not?
Jonathan: She just can't help herself. Don't use the sink till I get back.
Martha: Well, you said you had feelings for her.
Clark: It's not about Chloe.
Martha: You can't keep putting your life on hold because of Lana.
Clark: But if she sees me with someone else, it's like saying the door's closed.
Martha: The door is closed, Clark. You need to admit that to yourself.
2) Clark & Lana:
I love this scene. Clark tells Lana about the story when Chloe was younger, she wanted to come and see Clark's Farm and experience it first hand. He says Chloe thought he was Amish. Clark told Lana that Chloe kissed him, and Clark said to Lana, "Chloe said to me, 'I know you've been thinking about that all day, so I figured we'd get it out of the way and be friends.' Lana, that was my first kiss." Lana told Clark, "It's nice it was from someone you still care about." Loved this scene!
Clark: I keep wishing Chloe would just walk up those steps. I never appreciated how much she meant to me until now. The thought of never seeing her again--
Lana: Clark. You can't think that way.
Clark: You know, I remember the first time I met her. It was eighth grade. She'd just transferred from Metropolis and I was assigned to show her around. The first thing she wanted to know was where she could buy a copy of the Planet so she could keep in touch with civilization. When she found out I lived on a farm, she insisted I invite her over to experience it first hand. I think she thought I was Amish. When I brought her up here, she just kissed me, right out of the blue.
Lana: Why'd she do that?
Clark: She said "I know you've been thinking about that all day, so I figured we'd get it out of the way and be friends." That was my first kiss.
Lana: It's nice it was with someone you still care about. We're gonna see her again, Clark.
Chloe: Whitney. You sure you're in the right place?
Whitney: Clark called, said he needed my help.
Clark: I think I figured out how Lana got her visions. It was the explosion.
Chloe: You think the blast somehow caused them?
Clark: It was more than that. It connected her with someone at the accident.
Chloe: Clark Kent leaps tall theories in a single bound. How did you arrive at this one?
3) Clark Kent & Chloe Sullivan:
This is the last and my favorite scene: The Clark & Chloe scene. I know they say, "Better late than never," because it took a while for Clark to have enough guts to ask Chloe out on the Spring Formal Dance. Clark asks her to go with him. She says yes and says, "Now I'm gonna go before my good Karma runs out." Clark apologizes to Chloe for making her wait. He says: "I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner." She replies with a big smile on her face, "That's okay. It was worth the wait."
Chloe: Your mom told me you'd be out here.
Clark: Hey. I haven't seen that smile all week. What's up?
Chloe: Well, I've got good news. The Daily Planet called and I got an internship.
Clark: That's great! You didn't even have to interview.
Chloe: I know. Well, they read my article in the Ledger on the kidnapping cop and I guess my work spoke for itself.
Clark: Congratulations.
Chloe: Thank you.
Clark: So, I guess that means you'll spend the summer in Metropolis.
Chloe: Yeah. Will you come visit me?
Clark: Yeah, of course. I would never pass up an opportunity to see you in your natural habitat.
Chloe: Well, I-I just wanted you to be the first to know, so um, I'll see ya. Bye.
Clark: Uh, Chloe. Um, uh, do you have plans for the Spring Formal?
Chloe: Not at the moment.
Clark: I was hoping, uh, I was hoping you'd go with me... As my date.
Chloe: I would love to, Clark. Now I'm gonna go before my good karma runs out.
Clark: Chloe. I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner.
Chloe: It's okay. It was worth the wait.

Yes, and also the beginning with the explosion. Also a scary moment is when Chloe is buried. Can't stand that.

Chloe must have at least 3 cousins. We have seen Lois & Lucy, but in this episode Chloe mentions that she's crashing at her cousin's dorm.

I really enjoyed this episode quite a bit. I just rewatched it today (for probably the 4th or 5th time), for the Chlarky good moments! There were plenty of them, but the time when Clark asked her to the Spring Formal was perfect. I love how she looked like she was glowing -- I mean, she's naturally radiant, but with the light of the setting sun behind her, and her beaming smile, and then the way Clark practically dances with the pitchfork after she leaves because he's so excited... whew, that's just classic stuff. I also LOVED it when Clark ripped the coffin out of the ground and when Chloe regained consciousness, she practically lunged into his arms, crying, "Clark, it's you! It's always you!" So incredibly romantically awesome... The plot of the episode was a little unusual and the performances of the guest stars were nothing to write home about, but really, the character beats and the Chlark romance are what make it one of my favorite episodes, and most often rewatched ones at that. It also provided good set-up for the season finale, specifically with the octagonal key, Whitney discovering his dad's medals, and all the Clark-Chloe-Lana triangle elements.

Lana kept seeing through the cops eyes, so how convenient she DIDNT see what the cop shot Clark and nothing happened. It would have been more interesting if she saw that part. But all in all pretty good episode

8 Points, Loves the Chloe relation ship with Clark, Lana temporary abilities due to the explosion and the affect of media explosion was quite interesting, Writing really come up here with the good inputs.. !!
It’s a strange plot- an explosion causes Lana to see through the eyes of Chloe’s kidnapper. It’s still an alright episode. I never understood why Clark used his abilities in front of the cop, when he knew Lana could see through the cop's eyes. 7/10
