Two salesmen (Rick Peters, Gregory Sporleder) were transformed in 1989 and gifted with the same power of persuasion. One decided to go into hiding before his powers got him into trouble; another decided to use his power for reasons of evil.

I thought Hug was a very good episode

''clark you have some explaining to do''

kyle tippett (sp) was the first ''good'' fotw. I liked how he made Rickman kill himself. I enjoyed this

In a later episode in Season 5 Pa Kent and Clark are having a discussiona dn Clark says that none of his encounters with Kryptomutants ever end well. They all end up dead or whatever. Clark must have forgotten about Kyle.

Ahh! Lex with the uzi.. That was the best, and most lasting image left in my mind. Even if this episode wasn't one of my favorite's, it got major props just for that. Cherio, all.

And Clark also must of forgotten that FoTW from Hereafter who could see peoples deaths and helped him save Lana and the other girl in the barn and Clark must of forgotten the guy from the 4th season who, even though did erase Clarks memory, did help him try to get it back and erase Lois and the Sherriff's memories when they saw him use his powers. And Cassandra from Hourglass was a good person who was helping him too.

But I think Clark was probably just rounding since pretty much almost all of the other encounters with FoTW's usually dont begin or end all that well.

Well Kyle did end up killing Rickman at the end so he wasn't all good.

great episode. interesting idea. i thought that the baseball bat shattering dragged on a little too long (i think it was this episode). other than that it was very entertaining. oh yeah, i love the glowing green hand effect.

Yeah, it's a great episode and it includes the first time Clark finds out Chloe has any feelings for him besides friendship.

I love a quote in this episode. When Lana, Clark, and (if I'm not wrong) Chloe are horseback riding. Lana's asking Clark what he wantsto do when he gets older and he answers, "..... I just don't want to be one of those guys wearing a suit and flying around." I just thought that was soo hilarious considering his future. :D

I love Kyle Tippet, a great character, one of the few good fotw's :D

The whole episode was really nice, specially to give some more hints about Clark and Lex's future. Plus, is the first of several times in which Lex practically discovered the truth about Clark.

It really was a great line =).

I loved Kyle. I was hoping we'd see him again (since he said he wanted to make the world a better place with his power). Both Kyle and Rickman were good actors, the casting couldn't have been better.

I also loved the Lex scene and seeing Clark realize that he is bulletproof and that he doesn't have to superspeed to avoid the bullets.

Oh and gotta love that Chlark scene... ''well let's say he made his point''. Poor Chloe, she's living her fantasy and she doesn't even remember it!

This is one of my favorite episodes. The Chlark kiss was probably one of several reasons. LOL! I remember watching it over and over again.

I just thought about the fact that Kyle is an example of a meteor infected person who didn't go crazy and in fact went of into the sunset vowing to do good in the world.

Kyle: Just don't hide in the woods like I did. You've got a great gift. Use it. I think I will.

I liked possessed Lex at the end, at first I thought to myself "oh! snap!" He knows Clark's secret! But of course he would forget once Clark got to him. The handshake think was very odd, Kryptonite just baffles me.

Awesome episode. A solid 9/10. One of the better eps from S1. Kyle Tippet was a great character and I was hoping that they would bring him back down the road. Bob Rickman also made for a good villain. Great opening to the episode when he makes the CPA guy jump out of the window. Plus, there was some great continuity with the mention of Club Zero. Especially considering the fact that Zero hadn't aired yet. Smallville writers don't usually think that far ahead..LOL

Other high points :

- Chloe being persuaded into kissing Clark. "Why is my mouth minty?"
- Clark shaking Bob Rickman's hand so hard that it started to sound like walnuts cracking. Just one of those little moments that makes for a classic scene.
- Lex firing off the machine gun at Clark and the dialogue surrounding the scene "Clark, you've got some explaining to do".
- After Bob Rickman offs himself, Kyle's line of "I always was the better salesman". S1 had such great dialogue.
- "Trust me Clark, our friendship is gonna be the stuff of legend". One of the best lines of the whole series. Great shot at the very end too with the camera panning back on the profile of them together.

Really enjoyed this episode a lot. In fact I wish that more episodes in the current season were written in that genre.

I LOVE Hug! It's an outstanding, super-fun episode. Kyle Tippet was one of my favorite guest characters in Season 1, and I wish he'd made a return appearance at some point. Bob Rickman was a cool villain, too. I could kind of care less about Victoria Hardwick one way or the other, though. The first on-screen Chlark kiss was a joy to see, too! :D

I like the persuasion power, and it would be used a few more times. It also showed that not all meteor freaks are evil. I’m not sure why this episode was called “Hug” though. :p 7/10

First episode where I wanted to smack Lana! Chloe's first episode where I wanted to slap her was when she threw a fit over Lana helping with the school paper. Anyway, this proves how much of a better person than me that Clark is because I would have thrown it in Whitney and Lana's face that bad sales guy was manipulating people's minds and Whitney really did try to kill good salesman guy. But Im a biznitch like that. :D

Watching this ep, especially the final shot with lex and clark, makes me even more upset that lex got mindwiped...

Loved Kyle. "If I wanted to explain myself, I'd get a job" and "I live in a trailer not a cave." The guy was hilarious.
