I liked this episode. Especially since we got to "see more" of Victoria.

The only thing I enjoyed was the girl who loved off Lex. She was in 2 episodes from Buffy season 7 aswell.

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes. The Clark and Lana moment on the porch when they almost kissed was pulled off great (and everytime I watch it, I imagine Clark knocking Nell unconcious at superspeed, then running back to resume his kiss!). I also liked the very last moment, when Clark's looking at Lana & Whitney. It really brought across the vibe that the future Superman always does the right thing, regardless of the consequences to himself.
Oh, and I liked the Lex-Amy interaction, they really had good chemistry (undoubtedly from Michael's "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane" days).

I thought this episode was really good. i dont really understand how krytonite can make invisible flower things in one ep and firestarters in another, but ive learned to just put it out of my brain and enjoy the show.

That was a wonderful selfless thing to do.I wanted to give Clark a hug. I think it was at that moment that my love for Clark was sealed.

Loved the way Lionel pronounced 'Miss Hardwick' hehe

MY FAVORITE PART ON THIS EPISODE IS WHEN CLARK AND LANA ALMOST KISSED... UNTIL STUPID NELL RUINED IT

I don't like the Clana moments in this episode, but the whole invisible guy thing was cool, but I hate the character, how much on screen time did he had?

I always felt sorry for the poor Amy, at least Lex didn't treat her like crap, that's something that actually until today it surprises me.

It was indeed a great Superman thing to do.

I really liked that episode. I thought Amy was a nice character, I felt really sorry for her. I didn't really like her brother thought, especially when he's invisible, his voice was awful, it was way over the top.

Oh and the guy's locker room shot with shirtless Clark and Pete because of, erm, artistic reasons.

I'd say the Clark/Lana storyline was better than the freak of the week story. I agree that it shows Clark doing the right thing no matter what it costs him.

I had a giggle about the fact that Invisible guy has to go on a rampage while naked. LOL! Problematic... even if you are invisible.

I love the moment where Chloe gets some of the stuff on her fingers. Very cool effect.

One thing I noticed... Lex says his mother died of heart problems in this episode.

Additional Trivia:
Possibly taboo but I figure I'd add it as well: Victoria Hardwick is indeed without clothing on the upper part of her body. As Victoria Hardwick is being drowned by Jeff Palmer, certain section(s) of Victoria Hardwick's body are visible in a few frames (less than five frames at 24 frames a second) although they are blurred due to the water. If the television station(s) had known this, it is possible that they would not have allowed this episode to air on a public broadcast channel. Note: However, when Clark Kent saves Victoria Hardwick, the actress is covered by a skin-colored cloth.

could you please post some screencaps from that scene? That'll be cool.

BTW ur S1 posts are pretty interesting, nice one!

Screencaps from that scene? Hm. Most likely not - I don't exactly see that going well with the Administrators/Moderators. However, the episode information is there. I'm sure that with dedication, and the [Season 1] DVD collection, you'll be able to review it on your own. :)

Thanks for the compliment though. :)

Even by episode 10 FOTW's were becoming a bit tired. Still the characters are interesting even if The Invisible Killing Guy kinda ruined it.

5/10!

I gave it 6/10. It wasn't among my top favorites of Season 1, but it had some nice character-building moments, and you're right, Clark does prove, again, just what a nice guy he is. Lex has some excellent moments, too, where he's still so heroic. I liked how nobly he treated Amy, even though she was so incredibly obsessed with him.

This episode was on HDNet today. For me, this is one of the reasons Smallville was so good in the early seasons.

The moments between Clark and Lana in "Shimmer" were some of the best in the series. They weren't too heavy or too sappy or too anything. They were just bang on the money.

I also liked that the episode didn't entirely revolve around the villain. It was all about the relationships: Clark & Lana, Lana & Whitney, Whitney & Clark, Clark & Lex, Lex & Lionel. The dynamic relationships between the characters were what the show was built on, and episodes like this represent it at its best.

"Look. We missed it."
- Lana to Clark in the loft

One of the all-time classic moments on the entire series. Such a simple line that says so much. Just brilliant stuff.

I loved the Clark and Lana stuff in this episode but once again he does the right thing, Lex's advice may of brought him in a very selfish direction. I felt bad for Whitney in this episode, despite me not liking him. I thought Amy was a little foolish, but I liked how Lex was clam about things.

I never thought Lex was attractive in the least, so the girl being obsessed didnt fly over well with me. I loved the CLana in this episode, the sunset scene I like more than the porch scene which has a slight cheesiness about it. The talking, while sloooooooooowly leaning in towards each other is so 1980s teen movie. Kristin looked very beautiful in the sunset scene as well.

i didn't think it was the worst episode ever but I have started to rewatch season 1 again and I fast forward through a lot of it. The Jeff and Amy were creepy looking!

I think the point of the effects of Kryptonite on different people played on the specific person's personality or inner feelings. Like Jeff felt invisible because no one notices him. The coach in Hothead was hot tempered, episode of Hug they were terrible salesmen until they were infected with Kryptonite, etc..

A nice use of invisibility and fooling the audience who the villain is. Although I think the episode could have been better. 6/10

I am probably the only one who feels this way, but I like the changing aspect of Whitney and Clark's relationship. I always get a little smile on my face when Whitney says "Kent get up here" in Jitters, because Whitney is scared and needs his help. And in this episode Whitney confided in Clark because he needed someone to freakin talk to finally. And although Clark likes Lana he knows that she is Whitney's and that her anger towards him wouldnt be there if she knew the whole situation, so he does the right thing.

10. One of my favorite eps from S1. The Clark & Lana scenes were great...this really is SMALLVILLE S1 at it's best. :)

I also love the song at the end. ;)
