I love this episode. It's hilarious, wierd, and has all the Chlark a Chlarker could ask for!!! Awesome episode. Of course it has the neccasary Clana and Clex too, so it's really good.

This episode was OK, he had a price to pay for his abilities, that sucks.

Does anyone know which song is playing while Chole is lighting a candle at Jenna's shrine? It is the song that is playing an instant before the one from "Jewel". I always find the same 5 songs listed:

"Rescue" by Eve 6
"Let Your Shoulder Fall" by Matthew Jay
"Top of the World" by the Juliana Theory
"On Your Side" by Pete Yorn
"Standing Still" by Jewel

But that particular song never is shown.

Thanks

I didnt really like this episode very much when i first watched it, but is has really grown on me. It was interesting to see someone who has to kill in order to survive. The freezing effects looked great too. oh and that girl shattering gave me the chills the first time i saw it.

I love this episode! This is a great Chloe episode. She is so irresistibly cute! I know the reason Chloe never has a date is because she puts the Torch and Clark (in that order) ahead of her love life. hahaha!

The scene where she helps Clark prepare for his non-date is Chlark heaven :).

I like all the stuff between Lex and the Kents. He was really trying to be friends in the only way he knew how. Money. :)

Yes, Chloe is cute in this one. And Lana is a troll.

I didn't like the idea behind the episode, I think it could have been improved in a lot of ways, but it was decent.

I liked it this episode, it isn't among my favs but it was pretty cool despite all the Clana angs.

The guy absorving people's heat wasn't a really attractive idea but it worked to developted some characters interactions.

I guess we'll always keep wondering if Lex's intentions to help the Kents were genuines or not, I'd love if Whitney and Lana never showed up and they accepted Lex's deal, it would have been a really interesting plot the fact of him owning a part of the farm and Clark's life with it.

I loved this episode. It's a cheesy episode, but it's good cheese.

The cooling effects were just great, especially when Sean cooled the pool. The shower scene with Jenna was nicely done as well.

That episode just had so many fun lines! Like when Chloe said ''just so you know this isn't a passive-aggressive way to ruin your non-date with Lana'' and when Sean said to Clark ''dude that is your mom, she's hot!''.

Plus, it was nice to see Chloe get some male attention, although I think that episode made her character look weak (getting all sad because a random guy didn't call...Chloe's stronger than that!).

I wouldn't want to swim in that lake where Sean is....

favorite scene is at the Kent house with Clark & Chloe. She's helping him choose an outfit for his non-date with Lana. Cute :)

Not one of my favourite episodes of the season to be honest.

The Iceman villain I couldn't really relate too.

5/10

Chloe really shined in this episode, the ice powers were cool but its really weird how people gain these random abilities from Kryptonite.

6/10, I liked it better than the second episode but just barely. I found sucking out people's body heat or their fat equally lame.

This was an episode I originally didn't care for, and it has really started to grow on me over time. I have been watching S1 as of late and just saw this for the first time in awhile the other night.

One thing that bugs me is how Clark just leaves Lana in the lurch on the "non-date" with no explanation. They see the news bulletin about Shawn in the limo. So why didn't Clark just tell Lana that Chloe was hanging out with Shawn and that he had to warn her? In this case, Clark could have been honest with Lana without revealing anything about his powers. Instead of getting himself off the hook, he just takes off with no explanation. Makes absolutely no sense.

But where would the "drama" be if he did that?

Yeah true that..LOL

It just bugs me because they see the news bulletin on the TV in the limo and Clark tells the driver to stop. Wouldn't the natural progression be for Lana to ask why Clark wanted to stop and then Clark to say "Chloe is hanging out with Shawn tonight I have to warn her. Stay here until I get back."? Would have been as simple as that.

Oh well, that is the WB for you..

To be honest there is many scenes during the run of the show that I am to myself why the hell don't you just tell her what your doing, it would save alot of hassles.

That just wouldn't work, though. How could he explain getting out of the limo to go on foot? No way he could explain that without giving up his secret.

Hmm... I guess I'll give it 5 frozen lakes out of 10. "Cool" was a little on the boring side, to me, but the best quality was that it featured a lot of good moments for Chloe, and showcased her friendship with Clark and Pete. The Clana non-date was even bearable to watch, mainly since I could actually... stand... watching Clana back then, LOL. Sean Kelvin was kind of a poor man's version of Iceman, though 10 times more of a jerk.

Not the best episode, but it’s still enjoyable to watch. The idea of Sean Kelvin stealing body heat to stay warm will be used again in Craving and Redux. Using body fat and youth, respectively. 6/10

I didnt get that either. Clark should have just told Lana that Chloe was seeing Shawn that night and that he needed to make sure she was ok, Lana would have been fine with that and probably applauded his efforts. Plus its a good parallel to Clark deserting Chloe on their ACTUAL date to rescue Lana from the tornado's.
As for this episode it is not one of my favorites, I did like some of the Chloe aspects for instance her insecurity about more attractive girls at the school and how Shawn just totally blows her off for one of them. And Chloe's little "treat me better" rant at the beginning is great as well.
Again one problem I have with this episode is Lex and his interactions with Clark, Lana and the Kents; I just do not like watching him play the nice rich god father type to Clark or the Kents, it just rubs me as incredibly creepy. "You're like the little brother I never had"....oh gawd help me. When are Lex's pre-Smallville friends going to show up? I also did not like Shawn's power and felt his turn to evil was too light switch.

I always have the same opinion about this episode-That its ok-good. Clark and Lana going out on a date shows that they both want to be more than friends but cant handle it because of Clarks secret. Lana having to pick between Clark and Whitney shows that Lex was right along but then again you have Clarks secret. Lex trying to help the Kents shows how much he wants respect but his father is dragging that down for him. Chloe going out on a date with sean was the first episode to show that she had feelings for Clark. The sean plot was ok but I guess thats what drug down the episode for me. Like they were showing too much of him and yet his plot was really boring and out of like nowhere he becomes evil.

So I give this episode: 6/10

This episode could be stupid if it weren't for the cute clana moments I loved the scene at the end playing to that Jewel song. And the murder mystery thingy about those girls turning to ice was cool plus we can't forget the scene with chole in the pool that appeared in the season one credits.
