What are some rumors you wish were fact and really did happen in the past eppys of Smallville? Mine would have to be the rumor circulating the web that Adam Knight was really Bruce Wayne.

How did the Adam Knight = Bruce Wayne rumor start anyway? I was watching "Asylum" and I didn't see any ties to Adam Knight and Batman.

That is the first one that came into my mind too.

And as far as the rumor starting. It's not difficult to imagine. Adam 'Knight', Dark Knight=Batman.

The other one that I wished were true is that Chloe would have died in Reckoning. And no, I'm not a Clana fan.

The rumor I would've liked was for Whitney to become a recurring character in Season 2.

The rumour that Pete was returning to the dance in 'Spirit'.
Man, I would have loved that- he should have been at Pa Kents' funeral too.
Superdub2, the rumour was that Adam Knight was actually Bruce Wayne, but due to DC copyrights and such TPTB were not actually allowed to develop him as Bruce Wayne.
They just say that Adam Knight was their interpretation of Bruce Wayne and he was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE HIM.
I never understood that one.

Man, Adam Knight sucked too much to be Bruce Wayne. Good thing that rumor wasn't true.

I think that they were originally planning on him turning out to be Bruce Wayne. But then Warner Brothers stepped in, because of Batman Begins, and totally nixed that idea.
So then they had to find some direction for Ian's character to go. And they made him a freak.

I don't think Adam Knight was ever going to be developed as Bruce Wayne. I think that it was just wishful thinking among the fans. Adam Knight isn't rich, have a butler named Alfred, or had his parents die in the same way Bruce's did.

"Spell" was what killed the stones arc. Isobel should never been a real 16th century witch, but someone that belonged to the Cult and got power hungry. Also, would be great for knowing more about the Earth-Krypton connection and Clark knowing more about both planets.

That might have been kindof cool. Bruce goes to Smallville to recuperate in peace under a fake name... And Adam was all about the power of the individual... Taught Lana to fight... alas... He turned out to be a dead freak being kept alive by Clark's blood. That Ian guy was gorgeous. The only one of Lana's boyfriends prettier than her. :)

I think this was another april fools thing, but I would've like to have seen them do a Bizarro episode. I remember some of the Bizarro eps in Superboy, and they were done really well. It would've been interesting to see how Smallville would've handled him.

Question: What is the Seer/Stones arc? It sounds interesting, and perhaps could've saved S4, but I've never heard of it.

I'm sorry SamBanksJLA, but Chloe dying in Reckoning would've been devastating to the show. She is the best supporting character and AM is a great actress. If you think people are whining about JK dying, imagine their reaction to Chloe's death. I'll admit, I thought they were going to kill her because she made that "I would die before telling your secret" comment and it would've pushed Clark farther from telling anyone else his secret, but Chloe's character is too important to the show right now.

I'm grateful Adam Knight 'didn't' turn out to be Bruce. Anyhow, an actual "Bruce" in SV would have figured out Clark's secret long before Lex or Chloe developed their suspicions.

I also agree that Reckoning would have been a great opportunity to have Pete show up in a cameo. Clark is/was (?) his best friend and it would have been logical that someone as close to the Kents as Pete was would be at JK's funeral. I wonder why TPTB didn't consider that. Pete is a canon Superman character, after all. (I know -- "canon" has limited clout on SV ;) )

I'm really glad they cannot have him because the Begins movie(s) are doing so well with developing the character (though Ryan Phillippe as Harvey Dent? That's almost as bad as the news that Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker, but that's for another place!;)) But really, Batman is far too complex for SV to deal with along with developing Clark properly. But then I am rather biased, as a HUGE Batman fan, but there is NO way Bruce could be relegated to one episode and done any justice.

As to the Adam Knight rumour... I think, if it were true, that it's funny that (while Knight would so obviously come from the moniker "the Dark Knight") Adam could be derived from Adam West (famed Batman of the 1960's).

Yeah... I don't think he would have worked as a regular... But just for a few episodes as an inspiration to Lana as he recovered. And they could never actually say that he was Bruce Wayne but as he was leaving recovery there would be some kind of wink or nod...
