I was thinking when Andrea said to Clark that she got her powers six months ago when she got a heart transplant. The heart came from a dead meteor freak. So I started wondering which fotw????
Six months would be around season four freak, so wouldn't be an interesting plot twist if it was Alicia's heart. I mean in some of the scenes it appeared that Andrea and Clark had a form of kindred connection and symbiotic understanding, minus the killing part....
I know that Alicia's powers were different, but kryptonite seems to affect the FOTW differently, maybe the organ gave different powers to a different host body....
It would be an interesting lead and I think it would be close to the timeline. Besides a flying FOTW with the powers Andrea had, would have stuck out sore thumb...

Another thought... she got a heart transplant, but JK's MD's never thought of this option for him? THAT one just strikes me as weird...

I thought she said she got the heart when someone died in the meteor shower - which would have been around the time that the space ship landed. Remember, that was in the summer when the ship supposedly landed - six months ago.

you know the chinese kill off their prisoners in order to sell their organs. i'm sure there would have been a match for jk somewhere in that organ pile.

Nevermind a transplant. I just love how everyone conveniently forgot about Lionel's blood serum from Clark's blood. I'm sure a final working version was made. Or Jorel could have told Clark how to make a version that would heal him.
I really hate it how they killed JK. It was done in a somewhat classy way (though I didn't like the changing the past day's events) but I think he was a character on the show who can not be replaced. I loved his scenes with Clark--they were very powerful. I especially liked Legacy. The same can't be done with Jorel. If it would, it would be a direct contradiction of how Jorel has always been depicted.

Yeah it is surprising the no doctor offered JK a transplant or even mentioning the option of a transplant. Or even Clark or Martha asking if it was possible..
The Kents must either have Dr. Nick from the Simpsons as their country doctor or the writers didn't want us to think about that possible story line.

that heart will have to come witha warning.
Use of this heart may indeed save your life however:
a. if you are a woman, it may turn you into a lesbian (not that there's anything wrong with that).
b. if you are a man, it may turn you into a woman and then turn you into a lesbian (not that there is anything wrong with that, unless you prefer staying a man. i fthat is the case, death may be your only other option.)

I work in a transplant center and a heart attack does not mean a person qualifies for a transplant, so not being given the option was not weird to me.
On another note, Andrea said she got her heart from a person who died in the meteor shower...but I don't think that means the person was a meteor freak before the shower...maybe it was the exposure to meteor during the shower that Andrea was talking about.

Also... wouldn't being stabbed in the heart with a knife kill you pretty quickly? Unless they stabbed her in the emergency room... how'd she last long enough for the transplant anyway?

being stabbed in the heart doesn't necessarily stop it (12 years of ER learned me good). it would still pump but it would leak blood into the chest cavity. depending on how much was leaking out compared to how much was getting pumped to her brain, she could live long enough for them to stabilize her.
whether or not they transplanted a heart when she was brought in or had to wait, i haven't a clue.

Let's assume that JK could have had a transplant, but let's also assume he was on a waiting list, and there was no compatible heart available.

this is a bit unrelated but why haven't more fotw's been popping up since the meteor shower?

Would the Kents have believed in a heart transplant? Or would they have just accepted their fate, since Andrea did say someone's life was exchanged for hers, knowing JK with that knowledge, he wouldn't have done it.

i think ep. 100 let us know clark's views on fate.
plus, they never exhibited any abnormal religious beliefs that would not allow transplants.
plus, martha was impregnated by clark's ship so i'm sure she's not above any form of intervention.

I think the writers just didn't think about that possibility or they just wanted to centre (center) on one thing, JK having a heart problem and there was no way, but medication, to treat it. However he did have surgery before.......
But to go on another topic I always thought that once Clark knew that if he could get the transference crystal back he could have change bodies with his dad and that could have cured him. When he got the stone in the end of season four I said, as I watched the episode, cool, go back home save the folks against Jason and do the switch thing quickly. Then go back in your body and put the crystals together. I mean if it worked for Lionel......oops another thought that the writers don't want us to have.
